From the survey:

"Electronic sports (eSports) comprises the competitive play of video games. Other terms include competitive gaming, professional gaming, e-sport, and cybersport. The most common video game genres associated with electronic sports are real-time strategy (RTS), fighting, first-person shooter (FPS), massively-multiplayer online (MMOG), and racing. Games are played competitively at amateur, semi-professional and professional levels, and some games have organized competition in the form of leagues and tournaments."

I'm way into cybersport.

That survey sure prodded me as soon as I said I liked e-sports. I even got a free-form "What do you like about e-sports?" where I could type anything I wanted. That section alone took probably 6-7 minutes.

I'm guessing I finished quicker because I indicated that I'm not really a fan of e-sports, so I only had two multiple-choice questions about them.

I just put I liked the community aspect and commentary and shit. I only really watch EVO but I sure as hell like watching people going ape-shit over happy birthdays and OTGs and stuff :lol

It likely helps, but I think they had plenty of opportunities to play bad games over the intensely barren summer that would have been hilarious content, as they've been known to do from time to time. Subscriber content was similarly scarce, no (apparent) reason they couldn't have busted out Bladerunner months back.

Just happy to see a consistently full schedule of content from the day to day, and longer premium content again.

The recording facility simply was not there to produce large amounts of content back then. You probably can't realize how much got bought and built up for the BLLSL, and now we're starting to reap the long term benefits.

I know you guys got tired of hearing "we're still getting set up in here" but that didnt somehow make it less true.

I think retro quicklooks would be great as a regular feature.

This is no disrespect to Brad, or any other bombers reading, but I think they over estimate their role as providing consumer advice, instead of just general entertainment. I would wager they could do a quick look of FF7 for PS1 tomorrow, and it'd be just as popular as any of the current releases.

I'm not saying QLs don't provide a meaningful service, they do, but I don't think that makes them more popular. It would be great to have at least one video a day, we do most days, but they could fill in the blanks with older games.

Did they really do subscriber only content for Sim Golf? And if so, who was involved. It may make me reup

Ryan played, Patrick and Jeff commented and they called Sid Meier and talked with him for like five to ten minutes. It was pretty interesting.

Fair enough.

I think that the problem a lot of people have is that we've seen a bit of a pattern in the past where there would be a BLLSL followed by a bunch of content for a couple of months and then the amount of content would get lower and lower for the rest of the year until the next BLLSL.

Hopefully now that you guys are settled the amount of content will stay constant from now on.

Survey was pretty cool, seemed like just a repurposed Gamespot survey, but I didn't do that one so who knows. The eSports questions seem a bit Gamespotty, since Giantbomb (apart from Brad) don't seem to like eSports too much.

I hoping they have a side stream of xcom tonight during tnt. A classic ironman attempt could end up hilariously bad.

Yeah I'm hoping cjelly was joking about the TJ thing. I know it's got a nice cult following but with two high profile game releases this week, it seems time for something different.

Well, CBSi has that partnership with MLG and twitch, so I'd imagine they want to be able to say "hey guys our sites' users like your content!" and back it up with data.

happy to hear that the BLLSL had the benefit of improving your content-generation situation in addition to spawning #teambrad.

Well in any case, it's great to see you guys more or less back on your feet in terms of content delivery.

Hey Brad a new Magicka DLC has been released, together with a nice big update.
Still waiting for that (internal) Magicka TNT :)

I think they have that scheduled right after the Chivalry Medieval Warfare TNT. :P

Also, the Farm Simulator 2013 preorder is 75 percent off on Steam right now. Never mind. Must have been a temporary pricing mistake.

That survey was WAY too long. I lost interest half way, and started clicking next, next, next, until the end. Sorry GB, but not even you guys could make sit through a survey this long.

It's amazing that SMG 1 and 2 are the two best games ever made and GB barely touched them :( I don't like ERs, but if Brad played through those two games, post-game content and all, I'd sub for 10 years.

Content has indeed been pretty great the past few days (weeks?) since the BLLSL.

I mean, I have a backlog of cool shit to watch for this weekend. Starting with the Blade Runner stream and the lengthy XCOM quicklook right now.

XCOM content as purely side-stream would sadden me a little (though I'll take what I can get!). Enjoyment, both playing and watching, is proportional to emotional investment in that game. I feel it would lose practically all (viewer) tension if it was just something that was segued to for ten minutes a handful of times.

I find watching one player platformers to be droll. I don't think it's good content. I think Endurance Run NSMB Wii or U would be hilarious because of the griefing.
