Charles Krauthammer: "Obama wins on points."

Never thought I'd hear that.
This is my Republican mother-in-law's favorite pundit. Wonder how she's coming to terms with his assessment.

Weakest segment of the night was gun control. Both sides dodged like hell. What, is Obama afraid he'll come off as anti-family if he doesn't go off on the same weird tangent as Mitt? Was looking forward to criticizing Mitt exclusively for that bit of oddness.

How the fuck did Romney fuck up Libya? rofl

He didn't.

What did Obama say in the Rose Garden a day after the attack in Libya? ”No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this nation,” he said.

But he did not say “terrorism”—and it took the administration days to concede that that it an “act of terrorism” that appears unrelated to initial reports of anger at a video that defamed the prophet Muhammad.

Both talked out of their asses, no surprise there, but undoubtedly Obama came into this debate aggressively and won this debate, puting Romney in his place. Obama should see some positive poll numbers from this. Time for Romney to step up his game.

So you think that those 47% don't take responsibility for their lives? Based soley on if they pay federal income tax or not?

Whether I don't is really irrelevant. And no, I doubt that a full 47% don't take responsibility for their lives. But I do believe that wasting funds trying target them in a close election would be foolish, which is what I believe Romney was implying when he said that.

Lol. I keep asking myself that.

"Did Obama just land a haymaker... On Libya? Did the crowd just cheer the moderator for calling out Mitt BS... On Libya? Libya?! What!?"

Romney went for a full on KO punch but whiffed badly leaving Obama free to counter full force.

Of course nobody expected Candy to leap into the ring and smash Romney in the back of the head with a chair... but you know, Romney shouldn't have tried to go after the Rose Garden comment in the first place.

What, are they running the whole "IM AN INDEPENDENT DERP" thing again?

It's just.... completely ridiculous.

All the people on that pannel are Obama haters, plain and simple. And they've all been given a specific role in this play, so as to appear after the debate Obama's support went down.

The answers of those people are so scripted.
The questions of that presenter are so loaded and leading.

My god...

Mitt getting fact-checked immediately by Candy getting tons of play on all news networks. Wow, what an incredible screwup by Mitt.

A double-edged sword. A story that is inherently not good for Obama now will get a ton more play. Now that's how you get the press to cover something they didn't want to.

Dude, seriously, you have no idea what you're talking about. Every state where a majority of the voters do not pay income taxes is a Red state.

Hannity didn't get the memo that Fox is being mildly rational today. His hour kicked off with a tsunami of absolutely insane bullshit.

You remember the "Please proceed, Governor" moment? Of course you do. Obama said that with a condescending tone and I doubt I'm the only one who noticed that.

How would it have been construed had Mitt Romney responded with something like "Do not address me with that tone, Mr President"? I would certainly have been impressed

After the 4 minute mark Obama goes into generalities and mentions "act of terror." While he definitely did not directly label the consulate attack a terrorist attack it can easily be inferred that the acts of terror he mentions apply. He did not discredit the notion it was by way of an overzealous demonstration nor say the magic words "terrorist attack." So true he did say "acts of terror" and true that it was still under the guise of it being protestors as he refers to rejecting efforts to denigrate religions.

As soon as I heard "binders full of women" I knew it would be a major sound bite. Not only is it a weird phrase, it was part of a bad answer to the question.

Would've made Romney come off as a giant douchebag tbh.

For better or worse, a bad flub is worse politically than the actual political issue.

Edit: Meus we already have a PD, we don't need.. one, really. But definitely not two.

Would have liked to have heard that climate change question, bit of a bummer there wasn't enough time.

I think you might have just heard a re-hash of their energy policies. I've never really heard them speak about this topic with any substance. They just roll out their energy policies.
