You remember the "Please proceed, Governor" moment? Of course you do. Obama said that with a condescending tone and I doubt I'm the only one who noticed that.

How would it have been construed had Mitt Romney responded with something like "Do not address me with that tone, Mr President"? I would certainly have been impressed

Obama said it because he knew Mittens was trying to go for a sly zinger, and Mittens was pushing his luck. Obama was going to let him run his mouth before letting him know he did say it.

oh apparently that is Matt Romney

That's... disconcerning.

"Dad...we need to have a talk"

not every old person has family they can move in with, just like not every student can get a loan from their parents. Not every problem in the world can be solved with bootstraps, sorry if reality offends you.

You're right. Just like the government isn't the answer for everything, either.

Whether I don't is really irrelevant. And no, I doubt that a full 47% don't take responsibility for their lives. But I do believe that wasting funds trying target them in a close election would be foolish, which is what I believe Romney was implying when he said that.

Except many if not most of those will be voting for Romney.

To the audience that was targeted, it's what they wanted to hear. It's an election, politicians will pander to their audiences. I'm not going to sit here and say it was the most eloquently phrased statement, but I understood what he was trying to say, that a good majority has written off him completely (whether it was 47% or not). He has to focus on the ones who haven't to deliver what his audience wanted.

It's one thing to write off half of America. It's another thing to claim you're doing it because they're leeches.

Fox and MSNBC playing highlights of the debate from their boys before jumping back into their discussion is so cringe-worthy.

...what the fuck is that about? :lol

Sometimes I forget how Romney even got this far. Dude has no fucking charisma, shits all over the rules and doesn't give two fucks about the stench of arrogance he gives off.

Romney and Obama each start with an automatic 45 percent of the voters. From there someone has to get to 50 and Obama had an average convention speech and lousy first debate and the economy is in trouble right now. It is more surprising that Romney isn't further ahead in some respects.

You're interpretation of this event and what he said is at odds with reality. Clearly you have an pre-established inclination to see Romney in the best possible light.

And, BTW, I can't think of another time in modern American history where a man running for President showed such disdain for HALF of this country's citizens.

I also like how he implied that women need to go home earlier than men.

Who needs pay equality when women can go into the kitchen faster?
That's when I knew it was over for him.

Basically, "Women have weird schedules. They've gotta get home in time to cook dinner and please their husbands".

The "47%" line is just as overrated as the "You Didn't Build That" line. It's quite clearly being taken out of context. He was referring to trying to win them over in the election, nothing to do with nit caring about them as citizens.

No the 47% line was about them being freeloaders and not wanting to take responsibility for their lives. That's what Romney said and what Obama hammered at.

re: "act of terror" statement in the rose garden -

guy on fox news: "candy crowley had no business doing a real time fact check because she was dead wrong."

lol.
