So all the Marvel Now books have been revealed? I was hoping for a Power Pack or Disney Heroes ongoing.

That's such a cruel thing to say. I have the entire first run of Power Pack. I love that book for some reason. I will NEVER get my hopes up though because nobody will ever capture the spirit of the original.

Father_Brain, I had the same idea, looks good, love it.

Power Pack was fun because it was a team of kids instead of kids as sidekicks / second fiddle to the real heroes. At least that's why I read and enjoyed the book as a kid. I didn't feel like it was pandering to me in the way Batman or Speedy pandered to kids.

The new Power Pack books with art by Gurihiru are okay, but I'm well past the age demographic that ought to be reading them.

Marvel should just make every comic every week a number 1. They would make so much money.

I agree and I even think it is the right course. I would even dig double numeration, a big one for the "season" and a smaller one for the comemorative landmarks.

No way, eff all that noise. Next month, Uncanny Avengers #1, month after that, Uncanny Avengers #1, month after that, Uncanny Avengers #1... Moving to number 2 and beyond is clearly what makes the sales drop. By #3 you might as well just cancel it. All #1, with a dozen variants on every book, every week.

New creative team each issue too?

Only Chew and Hawkeye for me this week. I'd normally skip a 1 or 2 book week and just grab them the following week but these are both top 5 books for me.

Remember when Cyclops was cool?

me neither.

He's had a long history of smanging the second-hottest member of the X-men though.

Dr. Doom, Thor, and Black Panther have all smanged the hottest.

That said, wasn't there a T-Shirt during Morrison's run that had Magneto on it that said the exact same thing? I could almost swear there was.

Why do they let people who hate the characters write the characters? Especially if they're not particularly good writers?

They just made Cyclops go full Charles Manson.

AvX:C #2:
Fucking finally Cyclops stands up for himself. I'm so glad he called out Wolverine on his utter bullshit. I really cant wait for him to be free and blast the skin out of that self righteous prick's bones.

As much as we freak out in here, it is amazing how the rest of the internet is even more hateful and insane than GAF. There are these dudes on my facebook hating Marvel because of AvX an unusual kind of non-ironic "they are fucking my childhood!" kind of hate.

Gee, you know? I understand some degree of being upset over the direction some characters take, but if you're going to get actually angry and raging, then you gotta take a step back.

Are you new to comics? It's always been like that.

The thing is, they have to realize they're fucking their future though. If you alienate your user base who has invested their time in your product, you risk not being able to sell them your next product. There are people who can't accept all these heel-face face-heel turns. Especially when it's the goddamn title character, and it's not done well.

I wonder if they even use a comic bible anymore. It's like I see their characters going against their fundamentals all the time, and for nothing, a whim. I guess Bucky coming back to life has destroyed the Comic Book laws of reality.

I'm new to talking about it with people. I was always the lonely nerd kind.

I mean comic fans are infamous for being overly dramatic about the dumbest shit, but I guess no more so than film buffs or game nerds nowadays. It can be fun to go read old message boards posts from the 90's when major events were happening. Some things never change...

So good. I love the direction Fraction went with the series. Also, Aja is a god amongst artists.

*brofist* Seriously. When I finished this issue this morning on my ipad, I was like - wow, this was so much fun.

And Aja, man, he loves little details in his drawings that made me laugh really. Was also amused how much Clint seems to dress like Jeremy Renner (you can see in the preview pages as well as in the issue - then go look at how Renner's dressed for casual interviews).

Have to wait until I leave work to head over to my LCS for my issue.

Bummed that A-Babies v. X-Babies was pushed to next week, but I'll pick it up for something fun reading.

There are no laws. These characters change, stories go forward, always, sometimes they go into directions people like more, sometimes they go into directions people like less, but I think it would be worse if their position was to keep a kind of neutral status quo where in the end everything has to be where it was in the beggining. I mean, we have something kind of like that already and people complain about it, too.

Yeah, I guess. It's just that is kind of shocking sometimes, I guess because it is facebook and not a message board with an avatar. You see this guy who you think is cool and intelligent totally losing his shit over cyclops.
