My LCS got shorted on their books, owner suspects their order got mixed up with another shop, so long story short is they were out of Hawkeye #3 before I arrived. It's popular at my store so the owner (who's also a friend) stocks a good amount, but he received less this time around so he suspects something funny happened.

Luckily though, more copies are coming soon.

The most baffling book in my stack this week is Tower Chronicles.

You have Simon f*cking Bisley providing art.

Why would you downgrade to Jim Lee for the cover? :|

That's like ordering steak and getting a plate of tofu.

Superman got bit by a cheetah chick and turned into a cheetah-man.
CHEETAH'S POWERS DO NOT WORK THAT- you know what? At least it's not apes again.

The Lee cover probably helped that book sell an extra hundred copies.

The fact that there are only a handful of people talking about PRJ makes me weep into my pillow... you should all be ashamed of yourselves

GO READ THIS BOOK.

Pretty much my reaction, I have got to find out where this train wreck takes me next week. If you aren't going to be as good as Snyder's Batman, then you should at least have the courtesy to be an entertaining train wreck and that is Justice League in spades.

New Avengers roster looks pretty amazing. Its on the solicits but I'll spoiler it since they're blacked out on the cover.

The Black Panther, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Black Bolt, Mister Fantastic, Namor the Sub-Mariner and The Beast

Sell us on it.

I have no interest in punk rock or Jesus.

Why would I want to read this book?

Only being 4 issues into a 6 issue series the book in writing alone has already delivered an amazing coming of age story filled with so much fire in it that you can feel some of the emotional release Sean Murphy (artist/writer) is going through when he wrote this. Trying to sell anyone on this book is tough because even giving away a flicker of what the first issue is like and what the set up is is such a rotten thing to do. That page I posted only works in the context of trying to drum up interest with something that doesnt make too much sense (or perhaps you're taking this page too literally?) The title is deceptive, you don't need to care too much about jesus and you don't have to like Punk Rock. It challenges both groups dogmas while wrapping it in this fantastic fantasy/science non-fiction that is both absurd, but such a odd treat to wrap your head around.

And don't get me started on the art. I'm just a huge Sean Murphy fan and even if his writing did suck (which it doesnt) that art, in ever page is so jam packed with detail, inks that stand bolder and stronger than most color books and such amazingly rigid fluidity (yes) to everything he does. Color would be a dis-service to the book and what it's trying to do. Just like old Punk zines, it feels like you would find this thing stapled by hand to the back of an interview with The Faction. It's beautiful and matches the energy of the writing so well that I have to savor every page.

It's absolutely wonderful.

i expect one of them to shiv the hell out of another member. ill let you guess who.

I honestly can't even fucking believe how amazing Hawkeye is. I don't think I've ever had a more overwhelming feeling of "holy shit, I can't believe how awesome this comic book is" while reading said comic ever. I came into the comic with literally no attachment to the character, or any Avengers really. I've up until very recently ignored the entire Avengers branch of all Marvel books but Hawkeye transcends all that shit. It's just one of the most awesomely written, phenomenally drawn, and amazingly action packed comics I've ever read and I can not possibly shill it enough to express how much I love it.

If you haven't, go back and read his Iron Fist run. Same exact feeling.

Legion Lost is chill and will be sad to see it go. Can't believe DC let Pete Wooda get away. Paul Levitz, please stop writing Legion brah, you're done, you're done there with Dan Didio in the writing pits. Hawk eye is alright, but lets not act like its transcending comics. Wonder what Aja's pencils look like.

It's just a really fun book. Hawkeye himself has a really interesting backstory, so it's great to see Fraction just playing up to Clint's strengths: which is being a regular guy constantly surrounded by super heroes.

Coupled with Kate, who's coming into her own as a hero herself, you've basically got a book about just a regular guy that just happens to be on the Avengers...and owns a pizza-loving dog (which is the best thing ever).

Well, I'm interested. What was the name of the series?

Ok, adding Iron Fist to the list of WAY TOO MUCH SHIT I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO CATCH UP ON. Thanks Comic GAF >:(

Fucking bug on Comixology with Walking Dead issue 103, if you try to buy it, it asks you if you want to buy the Harlequin comic preview something, they need to fix that shit.

He always gets one piece, or the boy pouts like you would not believe. Huskies are Great Manipulators. I think it's genetic.

Huskies, corgis and my cousins' chocolate lab, have faces I have a hard time saying no to lol. Probably a good reason why I don't have a dog. Lack of space would make me feel guilty, as would the "barely being home" thing.

There is no way you can go wrong here. The book is on another level. Leagues ahead.

Totes. I think over the last 10~ years, Marvel has been actively trying to recreate Miller/Janson on Daredevil or Moore/Bissette et. al on Swamp Thing (Bendis on Avengers/DD, Brubaker on Cap/DD, Waid/JMS/Millar/Hickman on FF, etc.) but Immortal Iron Fist is the only time it really succeeded, I think.

he's too alpha for any of that noise. i expect him to be be ordering them around like the boss he is.

kinda hard to be alpha to a dude that can kill you with a whisper

my old boxer was good at that. she would look sad as hell, then she would start making spit bubbles. i would feel bad every time.
