I only saw this series last year but I already miss it, like a long lost childhood friend.
Goddamn it, finish the story Lynch.

13 Episodes to go. I hope you're right.
It gets much, much worse before it gets any better. And it basically only gets better in the last episode, which will just make you angry anyway.
Well I've just watched Episode 9 which is- I'm guessing this is tipping point...Where Laura's killer is revealed
I would be tempted to suggest you bail out at this point. First time I watched Twin Peaks I stopped here and it was nice to have new content to head back to later on. I wouldn't ruin your first viewing by watching the rest of season 2.

I'm so invested though! My worry is that the main drive of the story is the hunt for Laura's killer - with that gone... I don't know. I don't want to finish here knowing there's more to see, regardless of the quality.
It might tarnish my enjoyment of the second season - but my love for season 1 is pretty much untouchable at this point.
It's more Twin Peaks so I can understand why you want to continue but it's a rough road to travel. Thankfully the character interactions are enough to salvage most of the issues but I definitely tuned out at points.
Nah, the last episode and the way it ended was just perfect, especially for a show that was built around a mystery.
This sentiment is what's keeping me going - plus the quest to get my tag changed to something Twin Peaks related.
Keep on going, the finale is absolutely marvelous.
On a side note, I stumbled on to this a couple of days ago.

James was supposed to be some sort of James Dean type character. He was supposed to be some brooding biker type that was really insular and distant. They only nailed half of that. He was indeed a biker type, but he came across as being mopey and weak.
One of the moments I remember most from the later half of season two is him sitting by himself looking sad while that terrible song he sang with Donna and Maddy plays in the background.
It works as unintentional comedy though.
Nadine is worse than James.
Super Nadine is the moment when gold Twin Peaks degrades into bronze Twin Peaks.
It's worth going through for that finale. Oh that finale.
YOU'LL HAVE TO SPEAK UP. HEARING'S GONE. LONG STORY. GOT THESE THINGS CRANKED UP TO THE MAX.
Is it, though? I mean, if I were to rewatch the show I don't think I could make it throughJames and his mopey adventures; Super Nadine; Ben Horne the Civil War general; Josie and the door knob; Andy, Lucy, Dick Tremayne and Little Nicky. It's even worse if you hate Windom Earle. Lots of abysmal television to be found before the finale.
I'll admit I'm likely to gloss over it on a rewatch, but a first time through I think it should be seen. Twin Peaks is a thing that should be seen through, flaws and all, at least once.
I agree. It gets pretty bad, but it should be seen through at least once, just so you a little context (lol). My friends almost said "Fuck it, we'll just watch the movie" instead of showing me the second season, but we ended up watching through the episodes anyway... which is good, because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to seebecause lemme tell ya, I will never ever, ever forget it.FREDDIE'S FUCKING SWEATER HOLY SHIT
I don't get the spoiler part.
More for the character than for the object. Just covering my bases!

Oh, for sure. A good 90% of it is classic, timeless TV.Otherwise, it's held up very well.
TheI just hated how theyred room thing was great.killed a ton of characters for no reason
Is the companion film, Fire Walk With Me, worthing seeing too?
I finally finished the show for the first time:
After James was dropped from the show, and his horrible subplot ended, the show became infintely better again. Well, after Jodie really, she was an all right character, but her character's death suddenly made the show quality a lot higher.
Every episode after Jodie's death was simply magical. Every scene was damn good, I wasn't bored at all. I am really glad I went back to the show, or else I would have regret missing such quality. No show will ever match Twin Peaks in its quality or charm, mostly the latter. If this show was released today, it would still be held up for its originality.
Lost is held up as being a great mystery show, but it doesn't have anything when compared to Twin Peaks. But that final episode! ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Lynch's return to the director seat was pure brilliance. However, that final scene, I want to see more Twin Peaks, and it hurts so much knowing that I'll never see any future episodes. Also, Audrey Horne being dead is a world I don't want to live in!!!!!
This show was god-damn magical. It is seldom seen that subplots of side characters are good, but in the majority of cases, Twin Peaks excels in those areas. And no one can deny the godliness of Dale Cooper; my Iphone 5 is named after him. The music was also another highlight.
The first season is one of the best seasons in television. However, the second season, while sloppy during its middle arc (with James and Jodie), still defeats 90% of television. Now, I shall wait for the director's cut of Deadly Premonition and play that when it comes out. If only to feel that Twin Peaks magic.

I don't remember this. That seals it, I'll have to start rewatching this week.

This is the best photo I can find though it doesn't show it well, but the entire Evelyn Marsh subplot was unbearable until I just focused on her single brown tooth.
