Black Ops II NDAs lifted - YouTuber impressions

Jeeze, Elite being free is pretty underwhelming considering most of the those features were free in the first place, lol.

Everyone on a platform having access to the DLC at the same time is pretty cool, though.

First off, I wanna get the pc version on steam.. If I preorder now do I get the free WAW now? Also should I get the normal version or is delux actually worth it?

You get WaW as soon as you purchase the deluxe version. Whether or not the deluxe version is worth it is sort of up to you.

WaW is already $19.99 on it's own so really what you're getting for a few cents extra are the other bonuses in the digital deluxe pack.

one could make the argument that they never really got it all that playable. And now theyve bolted on even more things to an engine that was sputtering the last time. I wouldnt hold my breathe.

I could never really get into BO 1. The maps were meh and I found the majority of the weapons meh as well.

BO2 looks to remedy these issues for me, toss in better ways for create a class to work, have kill streaks be point streaks now, and hopefully have solid hit detection and match making this time around.

Ugh fail, I preordered the deluxe PC version from Amazon since they had a code that dropped it down to $59. They claim you don't get the free WAW until release.. so pointless.

Oh hey, Ghost works when planting or defusing bombs and when you call in Scorestreaks.

I really hate this "while moving" BS, as if people didn't run around enough like headless chickens in COD, and does it really mean people will take a step forward and back and all of a sudden you are unseen on radar? If so then that just shows how stupid this is, just let a motherfucker use Ghost, does UAV only work when the person who called it is moving?

Everybody knows that you are much easier to spot when you are not moving... oh wait...

At least they did something against quick scoping.... ooooh......

Still going to get a (free) copy though.... (came with a mag 50 euro magazine subscription)

Yeah if it's like BLOPS 1 then ghost = ghillie suit, but oh wait, you can't even use it properly once someone calls as UAV, which is easy to get and now even easier as it's score based.

UAV is 8 kills now or 4 objective kills or 3/7 obj kills and an cappin a flag or planting.

Yep, apparently the second you stop moving you fade onto the radar enemy.

I'm liking most of what I'm reading about BLOPS 2 and it's the first COD since MW2 I'm really looking forward to. But what they've done to Ghost is ridiculous and might just ruin the game in itself for me, sadly. I'm in my mid 30's and simply don't have the reflexes to run and gun like those half my age. So I've always opted for the class that's simply allowed me to stay off the radar since I need to take it slower and try to pre-empt where rushers will come from or flank around enemy lines unseen. Unfortunately it's going to be much more difficult now because heaven forbid I actually, you know, stop just for a few seconds when a UAV is up. Nope, gotta keep SPRINTING around constantly like everybody else now.

The perk's just much too situational now... It's already been split into what, 3 or 4 separate perks, so it would've been perfectly fine been left as a simple UAV jammer again. But sadly they're just buckling to the anti so called 'camper' sentiment that plagues these games nowadays and has turned them from bearing any resemblance of a tactical nature into run and gun twitch fests only.

So that means if you stop moving they know your position even if you fade off. C'mon Treyarch that's not the meaning of ghost.

IMO Assassin nearly ruined MW3 for me, and it's damn near game braking. I'm thrilled to see Treyarch trying to do something about it. IMO there should be no perk that makes you completely invisible to radar, so I hope it's gone entirely for the next COD.

If you play enough MW3 you'll notice that almost every high level player uses Assassin. That's because everyone knows it's easily the most powerful perk in the game. So they got rid of stopping power because everyone used it, and now instead everyone uses Assassin. It's dumb.

If you want to play stealthy you can run counter UAV, and use a silencer. What if a few people on your team were running counter UAV? It would be possible to play half a match with the other team having no radar at all. It's just too powerful to let someone avoid radar in 100% of situations.

It would be nice to see a good and a bad side to each Perk.

As someone said earlier, if use Assassin you would lose your radar. I find this is a good idea, you may stay invisible but you don't get to see other enemies in the radar.

I'd be ok with the enemy not showing up on the mini-map as long as I could still see where my teammates are.

The only thing they are behind in is the sound department, the guns still sound like staplers and cows farting.

Agreed, that'd be a much better solution than what they've come up with. The no movement thing except when planting/disarming etc. just makes it too situational and practically forces you to play a certain way I feel.

I mean, it's a situational enough perk as it is... If no one on the enemy team uses a UAV, then a Ghost user gets zero use out of that perk for the whole match. Yeah, it might lend a big advantage when an enemy UAV is up, but that in itself is balanced by it's lack of any benefit at all when there isn't a UAV above.

Where as most if not all other perks offer smaller yet much more regular, or even constant, advantages.

Nothing so drastic as that. Here is the video so you guys can see for yourself.....

http://www.youtube.com/embed/CtdLLo4vW8w?

That level looks pretty sweet BTW.

This video shows exactly why I usually do not like treyarch COD's as much as IW's. That full
screen red flash treyarch always puts in when you get shot unlike IW's half screen turn red when shot.

I just cant stand having red flashes when I am trying to see what I am doing.

I dunno, from the few videos I've seen where the in game audio can be heard clearly enough, they seem to have beefed the weapon sounds up nicely this time. Sounds about on a par with the IW games now.

The Black Op's guns were for the most part crap sounding though, agreed. I found it really off putting... spoiled the feel and feedback of gunplay in that game for me.

So basically if you want to hold down a spot with ghost you need to just shift side to side. Stupid.

I hope the maps are good. MW3 had the worst maps I've ever played.

Or you can deal with the UAV and take it out. It suppose to be much easier to find and destroy.
Or use a counter uav.

There was a good and bad side to each Perk, it was called Stopping Power/Juggernaut. You had to give up fire power or defense if you wanted Stealth.

Did anyone test out Ghost and can confirm that any movement will hide you from the radar? I'm pretty sure Treyarch said it wouldn't work that way and they designed it so it can be tweaked as needed.

Well, I still use both those options even as a Ghost/Assassin user.

But those precious few seconds of exposure when you switch to your launcher and scan the air to take out a UAV, or even the second or so it takes to use a CUAV, is enough to hugely mitigate the point of working your way into sneaky attacking flanking positions, or taking up a defensive position after bomb planting in Search.

I was able replay the first black ops today. My god I forgot how good that game was. I didn't get shot in the back one time and I could actually hold a location down. So excited for November 13th, MW3 left such a bad taste in my mouth.

I always hated the sound of the guns, in every CoD. But these sound cool, as wel as the explosions in the background.

I agree searching for uav and switching to launcher will put you at risk but calling in a cuav rarely has put me in a situation where i got killed. Maybe the most in mw3 because it took such a damn long time but according to some footage it superfast again in black ops 2.

The Call of Duty series is for teens only now, period. They want money, lots of it. How do I know this? When you see companies catering to lowest common denominator. There is nothing wrong with camping. It's the dumbest term I've ever seen or heard. Look, it's a game and I get that. But if I'm "at war" I'm not going to run around like a chicken with no head.

Treyarch < or > than IW is the dumbest thing I've ever heard from people and everytime I hear that I know I'm listening to a foolish person. "Oh Treyarch is so great!" Yeah, great huh? Chopper Gunner and Dogs were a game ender nearly everytime. In MW2 high killstreaks didn't necessarily mean an unwinnable game. Dogs and Chopper gunner did, nearly everytime. But then IW catered to LCD so horrifically in MW3 that I couldn't play it anymore. No place to take real cover, horrible spawns, overpowered deathstreaks. That game was atrocious. But then, for all the right moves Treyarch seems to be doing with BO2, they ruin it immediately by removing the war aspect by neutering ghost.

If you ask me, there should be no UAV and a killcam and the skull and crossbones when a teammate dies is enough. Mix Hardcore mode with killcam and regular health and you've got a winner.

Leave Ghost unchanged for some of us mid-30s people.

I don't mind the ghost changes. Less people that use it the better imo. Always disliked how widely used it was. Hopefully this gets people using other things.

I can't relate to the mid 30s thing so I can't speak on that since I'm in mid 20s, sucks for you guys though :p

No. It belongs there. Stop being a chicken without a head, and take some fucking cover or develop a strategy with your teammate to flush me out. You know where I am if you take a half second to look where the skull and crossbone shows up. You have flashbangs and I only have a couple explosives. If I have a silencer I have weaker bullets and if I don't you can, in every sense of the word, know where I am and you can see me shooting on a map and pinpoint the direction of my bullets. And now I'm being told I'm not allowed to hide anymore? That I have no choice but to be constantly moving? Really? In a shooting game where the object is to stay alive, I'm being told I can't stop moving? How many advantages do you need? You can get mad at me for saying this but it's futile because people like you are getting what you want anyway, useless chicken without a head Ghost!

Yeah, the changes to ghost are bad.

MW3 was UAV 24/7 so assassin was necessary to counter it.

Why should u know where i am at all times?

If it's truly as bad as you guys say, it won't be long before there are endless complaints and it's reversed.

edit: actually with further thought, it does kind of suck for me since I play only search and destroy. I'm obviously gonna be still from time to time if I'm defending a bomb.

edit2: but at the same time it is only bad when there's a UAV. I'm all for promoting people taking them down right away. Would suck if I'm the only one left though lol.

Am I wrong to assume that the Wii U version is going to suffer greatly because it comes out a week later?

With how CoD works huge first day sales and people wanting to play with clans and friends I'm going to guess, Yes.

Plus whose buying a WiiU just to play CoD? Plenty of other WiiU games I'd rather get first.

Not exclusively for BLOPS2 but damn 60fps IR aiming and 2 screen local MP gaming without the need for 3D glasses is just too good for me to pass.

Something needed to be done with ghost to speed up this slow ass game. Run and gunners who use ghost will have a field day with this one and won't need to adjust much, if at all. I guess if you're a "defensive player" (rofl) it sucks for you. BO2 is the time for a brand new set of tears from a brand new set of crybabies. Maybe if you cry enough, Lord Vonderhaar will grant you some mercy. I hope you guys like zombies!

Bullshit. Last Stand, Final Stand and Second Chance never got removed. IW and Treyarch can both kiss my butt. I'm blaming both companies for that atrocity.

Games are almost ALWAYS far less than 10 minutes long man! At least the 6 on 6 ones without objectives. You want 3 minute games? For pete's sake I feel like I'm LOBBIES longer than I am in matches sometimes. What in the flying...

Ya know, when I was playing MW3 I thought to myself how cool it would be to play Ground War TDM until 20000 points instead of 10000. And 300 for Domination instead of 200. As it is, a LOT of matches feel like they barely start and they're over.

The more I think about it the more conflicted I am but overall I think it could do some good, or some bad. Maybe it's balanced. I mean if they're currently testing the game and they think ghost used too much and in a bad way so they nerf it, maybe it did make it better. Guess we'll see.
