man the iPad 3 update was kind of a weird thing. Dunno why they didnt just wait until March

Easy. Lightning connector, that's why. By releasing a new iPad, they now have all their latest-gen products using it -- which they needed to do ASAP, so fewer people complain about having multiple charging connectors at home.

I think they probably just sold more Nexus 7's lol. 32GB model of the iPad Mini is $179 more than the 32GB Nexus 7. With an extra $20 on top of the price difference, you could buy a second 16GB Nexus 7.

Definitely seems overpriced when you compare it to the base model of the 4th gen full iPad.

$170 more for massive improvements everywhere.

Price point comes across as a bit cocky.

Very little question that the iPad Mini is an insanely better device than a Nexus, but it's going to be over $100 more.

Increases their market distribution, but doesn't KO the competition.

At US$250 the mini would have slaughtered the Android 7" tablet market in one fell swoop and put all Win8 tablets on life support...at $300+, um, not so much

They s*** on Nexus 7 and then they reveal the price. Man, lol
that was the whole point, they show how much better it is so they can justify the higher price. Would you rather them NOT show how much better it is and then still have the 329 price point. That looks worse :/

I'm lost now, I thought I wanted the mini but the 4th Gen looks insane.

Why does Apple have to do this plan for global domination?

Smart pricing by Apple. It'll be the most sought-after product on the market this holiday. They'll constantly be sold out. Then, next year they unveil the second-gen model for $299 or $279. Cue more sales.

Apple knows what they can get away with. Business gonna business.

Also I'm fucking insulted that they're already introducing a 4th gen iPad. Fuck you again Apple. That will teach me to be an early adopter.

But see, here is the thing. If you had waited to buy an iPad2 for 6 months, then the iPad3 would have been out in 6 months and you would have felt jilted.

I don't need any of this shit, nor do I want it.

I can feel a hundred thousand nerds the nation over convincing themselves that they want this new ipad when they already have an iPad 2/3, iPhone 4/4S/5, and a Kindle.

I think the App Store, build quality, camera, vastly superior GPU, 3rd party support and bigger screen is well worth the $80 premium over the N7.

Sticking with my N7, iPad 3, and MBP for my mobile needs though.

I'm going to have to put in my order for the new 27" iMac though. That thing is glorious.
