Any Gaffers doing this?

What is it? http://us.movember.com/?home

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo's, these men raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.

I look terrible with a mustache, but sounds fun.

You can use this thread to post pics

I already didn't shave for most of october, so I guess I can't really participate in seeing how much progress I make in a month, just in not shaving.

I just got my handlebar stache where I want it. No way I'm starting over. I'll pretend to play along. :D

Wait...looking at the site tons of guys aren't starting from clean shaven.

Guess I'll be doing this by default. Started growing my winter beard in late September already since it was cold early here in PA. Getting pretty bushy already. I'm expecting to reach Brett Keisel proportions by January.

Since I can't grow a solid beard and don't want to look like a patchy-bearded hobo I'll continue to shave.

This. I tried to just let it go one winter and it looked absolutely terrible after a month so I got rid of it and will never attempt it again.

The hairs mature over time and fill in places they aren't now. Time is your friend. Give it a year or two and see what changes.

how the fuck does not shaving raise awareness to prostate and testicular cancer initiatives?? do you have to wear a shirt or wristband too?

I will not be doing this. I like being shaved and well groomed. I feel uncomfortable when i get a little furry...My face breaks out too. Is there any other way to support this?

I may do this. I usually rock a full beard. I have sensitive skin so not shaving often protects my skin from the elements and aggravation that daily shaving brings. Works out well.

Will suck to have to shave everything but the mustache but I think I'll do it. Good cause.

really? aren't common? ok whatever.

No-shower-vember is a better idea. stinking up the place...now that's a conversation starter.

There's no whatever involved. They aren't common. Especially if someone in your life suddenly grows one.

I guess it's cool to be above things. You should email them and tell them that their whole program doesn't work, dear.

I will. I'll start with the d-bags in my office who wont stfu about this.

Full beard this year... started a couple weeks into September and I'm trying to get to the end of November, but it's pretty hard.

Yup I'm in again and will hate every single day of November. But hey it's for a great cause, my month of suffering and lack of dates is a small price to pay.

If you know someone who is just growing a stache for the sake of it then yes, that's lame. But the whole point (as listed on the above website) is for people to grow their moustaches and people will fund them, which they then give to prostate charity. So I am going to grow out my mo, and will ask people for cash to contribute to Movember.

So is this for staches or full beard or doesn't matter? I can't grow much facial hair even in my thirties so it is really just a degree of my looking ridiculous at work. I've gone at most 10 days without shaving and I look pretty silly.

I grow a patchy, uneven beard. I can't pull that off without looking like a sexual predator and seeing how I work in customer service, I will probably get fired.

I grow a sick fucking mustache though, I have bad genes. :(

Last year was my first time doing this. My beard grows pretty fast and it filled in very nicely in just a month. It was itchy as hell in the middle two weeks, but it was worth it in the end.

I don't plan to go all the way this year, but it is a great excuse to mark the return of my goatee. I've been clean shaven all year and I miss it.

Shitting up a thread about a fun initiative to raise awareness and funds to combat cancer, at a time we on gaf have just lost one of our own to this horrible disease no less. Oh, you. Personally you make me fucking sick. STFU.

I will be doing movember this year, I raised about £40 the year before last. :)

Gentleman and ladies a merry Movember to you all.

As some of us will easily attain perfection in the art that is growing a moustache let us not forget the larger percentage of us that will struggle and fight our way to something that will resemble a moustache at all.

Good luck to you all and remember when you're feeling down and scratching the hell out of your face remember it's all for a great cause.

Not sure if i have the power to rock a mostache. I really don't want to draw similarities between me and my dad, cause he has one.

Ever since i made my avatar, I really wanted to do a mostache+goatee combo. this is a good excuse as any.
