Let's talk fast food.

Don't have debates of any kind here. With how much items are on your typical menu and the quantity of chains, it's stupid to argue about that stuff, anyhow don't do that here, make your own thread for that. Post impressions of new items, recommendations, what you had today, etc. And not just the general chains, but local ones as well!

Some General Fast Food Tips:

- I wanna eat healthy!
Get the grilled chicken wrap with sauce on the side. Get salad with sauce on the side. Fuck just order w/e with the sauce on the side. The sauce is quite often the crazy 'unhealthy multiplier' for foods. Don't make it a combo (Fries + drink) cause that can easily add another 1000 calories to your meal. Otherwise, a quick google search of the restaurant + "healthy" should get you some good results, or ask here!

- Try not to visit fast food places right before closing. Let's just say those burgers will probably not taste so great.

That's about all I have, if anyone else has some tips, post them, and I'll add them here :D

Ignore Xia [in a good way]

Edit: Erg this is a nutrition advice thread.
Batten down the hatches for workout GAF

Wendy's has some pretty good burgers. Mcdonalds also is pretty tasty, ignore the haters. Jack in the Box is kind of gross but ok every once in a while.

I usually just order a regular burger, I'm not adventurous to try something else.

Never every buy soft drinks or shakes. You can probably get by cheating on fast food burgers every now and again, but soft drinks will double the calories on the meal with no nutritional benefit.

That's why you ask for unsalted fries! Sure, the employees might hate you for it, but it works!

Except most places will just toss old fries back in the oil to wash the salt off, particularly if you go through the drive through where they can't be seen doing it.

Anyway I've become particularly fond of this local burger joint down the road lately. They cook everything to order, which usually means I have to wait 5 minutes even in the drive through, but the quality is impressive. Their breakfast burritos are god tier too, and the portion sizes are pretty large. It's a little more expensive than cheaper fast food options, you basically are paying 5 Guys type pricing, but the food is significantly more tasty. I haven't gotten around to testing the rest of their menu or the fries, but perhaps at some point. I don't eat fast food very often so it'll probably be a while I guess.

I like Flame Broiler for healthy fast food, even their biggest bowl is only about 600 calories, and you get a quality meal for the price. Good meat, good rice, and good veggies. I think its only a CA chain though? Not sure.

I fucking love Jack in the Box, man. One time I got their breakfast platter, three tacos, curly fries, and a milk shake. Soooo good. Also, they have a meal for about $5 for three tacos and fries, you have to ask though.

Where does everyone stand on the Taco Establishments? Taco Bell v Taco Cabana v Taco Bueno

but the taste benefit of washing down your burger and fries with 40 oz of coke is priceless.

I only started eating Wendy's for maybe 2 years now. I'd always get their spicy chicken nuggets. I stopped by there a couple weeks ago and asked for a 5 piece. What do you know? THEY DON'T FUCKING CARRY IT ANYMORE. Bullshit.

Same shit @ Mcdonald's with their spicy chicken mcbites. They don't carry them anymore >:( Not even the regular mcbites. Sigh...

I had some McDonalds breakfast this morning.

I don't know what it is but that stuff is so good. Even if I feel like crap an hour later lol.

Eh. I just meant if you're eating fast food healthy is not really in the equation. And I'm not just talking about caloric intake.

i get you. loads of nonfibrous, nutrient strained products for sake of frozen transport.

there are some things that aren't especially terrible for you though, depending on the chain and preparation.

Are you fucking serious about Wendy's chicken nuggets? I always get those when I go there.

I think the McBites are supposed to be some sort of seasonal thing, they've been gone for a while, I miss them though.

Agreed, I don't feel like I eat badly when I go to a fastfood (and I don't event eat that often) but I definitely don't feel like I have eaten healthy.

But, at least here in France, fastfood went a long way to try to make their food better for the client health. Not quiet there but I sure don't feel like I have eaten a 100% diabetes or 100% cardiac arrest food.

how can you have a fast food topic with so many god damn rules? Fast food topics should be like the Wild West.

cuz the other one i made got locked, and i don't know why :(

What do y'all get at taco bell? only ff place that i'm like the most indecisive. I know that all the shit is pretty much the same but wrapped differently, but it's so hard to choose :(

yeah but they still carry the REGULAR BORING nuggets.. :/ they have a new buffalo sauce and it's whatever. it's not the same!

I don't eat fast food with any regularity, but I enjoy the occasional burger and fries. I'll usually go with a Whopper at Burger King or the two-cheeseburger combo at McDonald's. Wendy's has some good bacon burgers. I used to work at Subway and am thus very familiar with everything they have on the menu. It's mostly good and low on calories and carbs if you're careful about what you put on your sandwich.

Edit: Just reviewed the OP and removed the last part. I'm not trying to start a debate, but it could easily shift in that direction.

I absolutely hated Taco Bell for the longest time.

But what I've been getting lately (and I actually got this from another thread here on GAF a while back) is a Doritos Los Tacos Supreme (I dunno if they have that in your area) with the Chalupa bread on top of that. It gets a bit messy but it's so good.

I usually just stick with basic stuff like soft or hard tacos. Or course I make it hard on myself to ever eat meat, but if I have to I stick to basic old shit from taco bell.

I've really been enjoying those Dorito's tacos. Insanely addictive and I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to eating regular tacos from them anymore.
