Actually I should not lie, I have bitched at them plenty without knowing what they are doing so hopefully some of that has paid off...
I mainly want them to be more open with how they give XBL access to devs, because iOS games I play have no problem with having consistent achievements and leaderboards. If they announce anything in that regard I will be bouncing off walls happy, but my hopes are not high...Who knows...maybe things like Greenlight have kicked some sense into people.

The Lumia 820 is not a cheap phone, it's nothing like the 610. We're talking about 400-500 off contract here. Cheaper stuff will come early next year.
If you want cheap you'll have to look at the HTC 8S and soon the Huawei W1. They are considerably cheaper than the 820. Otherwise you'll have to wait a couple of months.

But the additional features we already know about are collectively nice enough. The stuff WP7 users would care about is often (Screenshots, multi-tasking improvements, search on page, swipe in Bing, etc.) such small stuff, I don't expect MS to announce them. We'll probably have to wait for reviews/hands on stuff to see them.
The main thing MS should communicate today IMO is "Yeah, we totally have apps" and maybe announce a few of them.
Give me Instagram or give me death.

So when Verizon said they were serious about making WP their third ecosystem, they weren't kidding.
Don't get me wrong, they announce one thing I didn't know about and I'll lose my God-damned mind. I'm a fan, and I'm a fan just like a sports fan. Just know that I'm a Cleveland fan, the "most tortured" sports city in America. SO that should give you an idea why I'm so messed up.
I'm sure this announcement will be nothing but I'm still excited about WP8, the changes they've made really do seem to bring it up to speed with the competition and offer some potential competitive advantages.

That's the Nokia Lumia 822. 8X is way better looking.

I left Windows Phone for Apple, but I now want to return.
I vastly prefer the 920. Of course it would be nice if it was slimmer, but at least it has some kind of character. The 8X is a weird mix of design elements that are too close to Nokia and some laziness. It's thin and rectangular, but not much more.
The 8S is nice, though. And of course, opinions differ.

I'm afraid that WP8 related the secrecy has been some weird marketing trick to keep interest alive and that there is really not anything major to show. I hope i'm wrong.
