I gave Levitz's pre new 52 Legion of Supes a chance and after 7 or so issues i'm done with the book for good barring incredibly good word of mouth.

She Hulk is awesome! All three of them.

Sadly Slott's run was murdered Quietly style by Juan Bobdildo's art. :|

His art ruined some great moments in Hickman's issues of FF as well.

I liked it. It was an interesting impression, the different facets of the mask that is Doom's true face. He gets some interesting expressions out of that technique. And really, Doom facial expressions? And he also draws the little girl to look like an actual 3 year old, instead of a spunky 7 year old. I like it.

Edit:

So Valeria, eh? Seems like her deal is she can resist the pull and temptation of godhood. Her, "That's nice. And?", to Doom was pretty interesting/amusing. The kid can think big. Bigger than her Dad apparently. I want to know more.

Found the first two trades of Immortal Iron Fist at Half Price Books for $5 bucks each! Sometimes their tpb section has some gems.

God' Fraction's IM is painful at times. And they're seriously going for this Tony Starks helps Mandarin rule the world storyline. Why exactly? It sounds stupid. It looked stupid back when they were showing snippets of the future.

It pays off, because obviously you know there's more than that, but in the grand tradition of Fraction's Iron Man run, it's a pretty boring payoff.

It's boring and ugly. It makes the Knaufs' departure from the book even more painful; Haunted is still the best Iron Man story of the decade.

See, my main problem with the (in series) politics so far is this lot, so I'm hoping this election will remove the lot of them from the equation. I'm sorry, but when you have such a large cast of characters, focusing on this lot is boring for the most part. I don't dislike any of those three, really, but if any of them actually win I'll be incredibly disappointed.

Outside of those three, I could see the characters themselves voting in Luornu or Dreamer based on recent events (and I could go with that quite happily if the fans follow those prompts too), but I'd far rather see the fan vote lead to someone more out of left field. I just think it would be more interesting to see someone random win, in the hopes it would shake things up a bit.

Unfortunately, my preferred nominee is lost in time :(
(Because personally I'd love to put our anti-establishment bug in charge)

Unfortunately, while I could certainly think of someone else to vote for, I suspect my vote wouldn't make much difference. That, and I'm too lazy to pay for international mail just to send in a Legion voting slip.

I'm hoping that Legion Lost ending means we get the characters back in the mix, even if it does mean they aren't eligible.

I voted for Luornu. It's time for a change.

Gates would be an AMAZING leader. @.@

But yeah, Triplicate Girl is going to get my vote too. One of my favorite Legion members. She needs more love.

i love juan's art in She Hulk and FF

yall are a bunch of haters

edit: oh it was ttob, that kid likes hating things more than he likes the things themselves

My God. I'm reading Fantastic Four 601 right now and this shit is so good.

Johnny lights up a 4 in the sky upon his return from the Negative Zone, and Ben, being pummeled by the Kree looks up and sees it with a tear in his eye...

God DAMN.

Hickman was joking that he got offered Star Wars...part of me wishes he was serious.

Dan Slott's She-Hulk run was so, SO very good. Was a huge booster of it on this board while it was running, partly because there was a period where it was the ONLY Marvel comic I was buying, but mostly because it was that damn incredible. Just amazing unconventional stuff, and Bobillo won me over to his unorthodox style pretty quickly. Gotta admit that it was a lot... cleaner I guess, back then.

^^ love that damn art!

finished issues 1-12, starting slott's final 1-21 run now. SO DAMN GOOD.

A. I love Dan Slott
2. I enjoy all of the art that you just posted
d. I love female-led comic books and don't think Marvel does enough of them.

Adding this to my "to read" pile. I'll get to it some day.

A friend of mine has been trying to get me to read this for a while. Hmmmmm.

Ask Cheska for an objective opinion. She picked up a copy of the trade because I won't shut up about it.

For me it scratches the Kirby Kamandi itch that nobody else is scratching.

Man that cracked me up!

I remember hating his art too...definitely got in the way of my enjoyment of the run.

Yeah, if art offends me I skip the book. I make exceptions every now and then, like ASS with Morrison and Quietly just to see what all the stink is about. Quietly's work on X-Men was a bridge too far though. At least with Superman he tried to stay somewhat on model, Superman looked lumpy; but at least he was AIDS free.

His art ruined some great moments in Hickman's issues of FF as well.

OOF! That odd line work on Doom's hood makes it look like he's got a puffy winter coat on. Like that kid from A Christmas Story.

Hello, and welcome to comic books mealy mouthed millennials! Sooner or later you're going to run into creative teams that don't suit your tastes and walk away. Maybe not. Good luck and enjoy the novelty and "newness" of these decades old characters.

This was my X-Men:

Back when skill was your "comeback mechanic".

When we didn't need a god damn time wasting cinematic for every special attack we performed.

And back when we pulled our execution up by the bootstraps, and none of this "input assist" bullshit.

people on the john byrne forum love to say "this is my ____"

ttob, are you a closet byrne forum poster

haw!

Because John Byrne fans are all old sons of bitches. Like me! :P

You openly lurk on John Byrne forums! Blew yourself up like Wiley Coyote.

There's just no point in sticking around cape comics when shit gets bad. In fact there's no reason sticking with any entertainment when shit gets bad. Just move on. We live in an era of endless entertainment, so there's always something awesome and new around the corner.

And if you were swimming around your daddy's ballsack while I was reading X-Men and are enjoying this new stuff, then keep on keeping on. Let me know if you're still digging it in 20 years.

Every week there's another thread about his great his Fantastic Four run was, and he'll come in and say, "oh stop you guys Kirby and Stan were the best, than Romita and Stan, then me".

So modest. And he likes to put the artists names first, especially when it invokes Jack "The King of all Comics" Kirby

The Byrne forum is the most entertaining forum on the internet. It has to be seen to be believed.

I met a guy at Mid Ohio Con last year who is using Byrne as his private dancer Tina Turner style. He had a sketchbook full of custom Byrne commissions of classic Ditko Spiderman characters.

It was quite a work, and he had some serious bank in there when he mentioned how much Byrne charges for illustrations. :O

awesome, i'm on it.

when does this take place in general marvel continuity? in relation to other big events?

It starts around the time of Civil War if I'm not mistaken. Because there's a What If where Nova goes back to earth to get everyone's help and they're all too busy fighting each other over the registration act.
