Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

When Vikings Attack looks awesome. I hadn't really looked much into it, but it looks really fun. Coming out Tuesday. I'll definitely be getting this. Cross-Buy, too.

Here's footage of the PS3 version from PSNation. Game will be native res on Vita so it should look similar.

And apparently it's 30% off via PS+ as well, so that game should be a no-brainer for many. I though tit looked kinda meh at first, but now I'm actually rather excited to get into it, especially for the price.

Took my Vita to work on the off-chance that Most Wanted would be up on the UK store. It is!

Marvellous (although £39.99 is a smidgen unpalatable).

Started downloading it at ten past midnight, and then put the vita on the charging cradle and left it.

Yep, the prices for games this week are despicable. Especially when compared to the dollar equivalent
Agreed. £29.99 really ought to be the upper limit. When I think about some of the games I've picked up for 69p, it's really hard to see the 'value' in Vita games. I had to have this one though.

I thought about downloading it on my PS3 at midnight (wired 100MB broadband FTW!) but I'd have ended up playing it last night, I have no self control.

at last... its out in the UK :) Amazon on time... will play this today at work

Oh I don't mind paying £40 if its a good product but when a game is $36.99 (AC:L) and then £34.99 here it's crazy. The exchange rate direct would make 34.99 around $50. Let alone how crazy the exchange rate is for euro to dollar when AC:L costs €40

The exchange rates are crazy.

AC:L is 333 danish kroner on my shop.

Which translates to.
44.62 Euro
35.83 £
57.81 $

crazy..

So, now that BestBuy don't seem to sell PSN cards anymore, where's the best place for someone in the UK to purchase US PSN card? I really want to avoid using eBay if at all possible.

Use a fake us address to set up am amazon account. You can use an overseas credit card to buy the code, and you get it instantly. This makes it even better than best buy. I have bought 150 bucks off them this past mo.th for my vita. *Hugs*

I got NFSMW for 40 Euro in a local store in the Netherlands (Saturn; most stores are asking 47 Euro though).

The digital download prices of 69€ for new PS3 games are completely insane.

...I hate to admit it but I suck at Street Fighter x Tekken. Any tips for someone like me? I've never played a Street Fighter game in my life.

Don't know if it was posted yet, but here is Polygon's Vita Review:

http://www.polygon.com/2012/11/1/3587712/need-for-speed-most-wanted-vita-review

The Vita version of Need for Speed Most Wanted is like a fireworks spectacular without the sound or the color. It's impressive, but lacks some of the beauty and oomph.

God I hate when reviewers sum games up like that...

Here's the rub: Need for Speed Most Wanted for Vita makes do despite its many flaws, because it is still, essentially, the same game I played on console, and that game is top notch. Need for Speed Most Wanted on Vita is a worthy companion that can be played anywhere — just don't let it drive you away from choosing the superior console version first.

7.5

Someone just pointed this out on the Vita subreddit on Reddit - the music tracks are WAY off balance. Try going in game and putting the music on, then cover the left speaker. Then cover the right speaker.

Quick question for the people in this thread.

Did you chose the Vita over the 3DS? If so why?

Just curious as I am tempted by the $145 3DS target has.

Looks like none of this week's "Vita 2nd Launch" games are going to clear a Metacritic score of 80 when all is said and done.

Most won't even clear 75. Only NFS: Most Wanted stands a chance of doing that.

Given the build up and scores of other titles on the system that's rather disappointing.

That's bullshit. I'm entirely happy with my choice of getting it on Vita, I'm not feeling like I'm missing anything at all. I'll play TDU2 or Burnout Paradise if I want to play an open-world racer on my PS3.

They're being unnecessarily harsh by comparing them directly to their console counterparts, imo. Let's say Most Wanted was Vita exclusive or ACIII didn't come along Liberation, I'd bet they would easily break 80/85 on Metacritic.

So with ps+ coming to vita, and with it save-game uploads to the cloud, could this mean that ps+ subscribers do not have to back up their entire memory cards anymore as they could simply upload the relevant saves to the cloud before a factory reset?

I have both a Japanese 3dsXL and a vita. From trying the normal 3DS that my friends have, and the store versions, I can't comfortably hold them. The 3ds XL model seems nicer to me. Snagged one up on its release date, the final day I was in Japan, so I don't have to deal with localization shenanigans, as I live in PAL country - hooray region locking.

Persona 4.

Although I wouldn't say I necessarily chose it over the 3DS, because that handheld never really interested me, to this day it still doesn't.

i misread the question and am now trying to edit my way out of it

I bought a vita after having owned a 3ds for a couple on months. I picked a vita because personally the games I want are on the system (mostly) outside of Nintendo franchises and the odd SE or capcpom title there isn't really anything on the 3ds that attracts me. On the vita there are loads of games I want/own.

There's only a few things I'm interested on with regard to the 3ds, not the nintendo/pokemon stuff.

I'm in for Atlus games, the phoenix wright series/games, and ninja boobs (senran kagura).

Honestly, vita has a lot more games that interest me, but there are a few "must have" items on the 3ds which means that in the end I purchased one. I got a Japanese one to force me to continue studying Japanese in my free time...

I didn't choose it over the 3DS, but I haven't turned on my 3DS since I bought it.

Vita = Moët & Chandon.
3DS = Lambrini.

-Don't care about nintendo franchises
-Would rather have something like assassin's creed, uncharted, gravity rush, killzone etc. over something like layton, art academy, brain training etc.
-Not a fan of monster hunter
-I don't like most RPG's besides the souls franchise(demon's/dark) and the Y's franchise.
-Wanted excellent looking multiplats like VT4,Rayman etc.

BTW i didn't choose it over the 3DS,that wasn't even in contention when i wanted to buy the VITA.

lol interesting comparison.

And now we get Ninja Boobs™ on Vita!

Yeah, similar situation here. The only games I played on 3DS since I bought my Vita were Kid Icarus and NSMB2. The first one was decent, NSMB2 was just a disappointment.

And honest question, has Sony done enough to justify the Vita's future? Looking down the road, on Amazon's Coming soon page for the Vita, there are 8 games.

I went Vita because I never owned a PSP, so I knew there was already a built-in library of great games if it failed.

I also assumed it would have PS1 compatibility at some point, and there are lots of PS1 titles I have yet to play.

I hadn't played Rayman, yet.

I thought Lumines looked awesome.

Plus, I'm a massive MGS fan and the HD Collection looked great.

I didn't get the 3DS because it would literally only be used for Mario games, and it was too expensive for just that purpose (I prefer Zelda on a couch/TV).

Also, the graphics aren't as crisp and 3D is just not for me.

Yeah, there will be 4-5 games at the moment which i know i'll get next year and obviously more announcements will come during the next year like the rumored gravity rush sequel,Y's Celceta localisation and bend's next project.

That's what I'm worried about, too. I absolutely love my Vita, but except for PS All-Stars, Sly 4, Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice and Killzone it doesn't look like there's much coming...

I can't speak for Sony - I guess only sales really justify new hardware - but from my perspective, have Vita and Sony done enough to justify my purchase? I think the answer is yes. With some great exclusives already and quite a lot to look forward to in the near future, combined with the PSP/PS1 stuff that I never had access to before, it's been worth every penny

Oh awesome! Didn't know that. That gives me even more incentive to buy it day one.

Who gives a shot about the scores. The PSP had an awesome library but they scored like shit.

Man NFS MW is damn decent. The driving model took some time to get use to, but now I'm pretty happy with the drifting tanks. Not going to lie but the general negative reaction to both this and AC:L the last week is so overblown it's not even funny.

Just had my first Vita Multiplayer experience aswell! Smooth as hell.

Wait it took you this long to play any MP games?

One good step would be to get some of the awesome PSN titles ported to the system,

Wow, this is ... just crazy. If an open-world racer of this caliber, with this amount of content, slick presentation and multiplayer support doesn't warrant almost perfect scores on a handheld, I honestly don't know what would.

it must look like the console version or even better to get perfect scores

Most Wanted just blew me clean out of my chair and pinned me against the back wall of the office. Thank you lord for my blessings this day.
