So where's Gaborn? (RIP Gaborn)

Rarely agreed with him on finance, but he was usually able to articulate his position in a way where I at least understood where he was coming from. A great poster, and from the sounds of it, friend. RIP

This news soured my evening. RIP Gaborn.

Looking back it was odd that he wasn't OP on the recent fucked up news threads.

evilore are you trying to out dennis dennis' avatar

horrible, he seemed like a great guy too - we had a few enlightening political discussions a while back via PM. id like to believe there's the outside chance he yet lives but stumps' comment on the uniqueness of his name makes it feel unlikely.

RIP man.

I'm very sorry to say that I'm fairly certain Gaborn passed away on September 26th, 2012.

It's not my place to violate his privacy or speak on behalf of his family, but there is an obituary for someone matching his exact name and birthday in the state where he lived.

Holy... oh my god. I need to sit down.

RIP Gaborn, excellent, entertaining & informative member.

Penetrated my world, and left a mark in it.(lol)

Back when I was lurking as a junior, this Man's threads were the right place to be.

OMG, I used to talk to him back in the day so this hits close to home.

:(

:(

RIP, buddy. I'm sad you passed away without seeing the whole country treat us gays with full rights and equality.

RIP Gaborn

Who were the pictures he had as an avatar? I always wondered about that.

This really fucking sucks. Reading his threads often made me hate the world, but he was a genuinely smart person who made this place better.

RIP, and condolences to his loved ones.

What... no. no

He was such an amazing person. This is really hard on me, I don't even understand why
Who were the pictures he had as an avatar? I always wondered about that.

The picture he used the most, that most people know him from is a picture of Norman Borlaug the father of GMO plants, credited for saving the lives of an estimated billion people with his technology.

Gaborn appreciated his work, appreciated him for the same reason I appreciated him - because he pushed forward and found a way to save the world with technology, because he was sincere about his love for science and his love for people.

Norman died almost exactly 3 years before Gaborn... I think around 3 years 10 days.

I never did respond nicely to Gaborn. I feel like a jerk now. :(

I don't. Don't apologize or sugarcoat anything. He always welcomed the knockdown drag-em-out arguments.

Gaborn could be maddening in his stubbornness and cognitive dissonance. But he was still a NeoGAF legend and icon. Remember the good with the bad.

He certainly left his mark on this place, and will be remembered.

I'm still at a loss for words.

He was a really good guy regardless of how you felt about his views on certain topics.

He was a really good guy. Damnit man

RIP Gaborn.

I did not expect this at all. Learned a lot from the man on handling debates and keeping an open mind, no matter the subject. Great poster indeed, R.I.P my dude.

WTF.

Everyone, Gaf, everyone go to the doctor, get a check up. I don't want anyone else dropping out on us.

RIP if true. Gaborn was a legend.

This is the second post of yours in which you bring up your beef with him. Please, refrain from continuing.
