It's not my place to violate his privacy or speak on behalf of his family, but there is an obituary for someone matching his exact name and birthday in the state where he lived.

Who were the pictures he had as an avatar? I always wondered about that.

The picture he used the most, that most people know him from is a picture of Norman Borlaug the father of GMO plants, credited for saving the lives of an estimated billion people with his technology.

Gaborn appreciated his work, appreciated him for the same reason I appreciated him - because he pushed forward and found a way to save the world with technology, because he was sincere about his love for science and his love for people.

Norman died almost exactly 3 years before Gaborn... I think around 3 years 10 days.

I didn't know about any of this. Didn't know anything about the got outside of his news threads which I never had a problem with.


He barely had any impact on my life, if any at all....yet I will actually miss him.
