I don't think state college employees are generally considered government employees. They're partly or even largely funded by the government, but they are not government organizations.

If I may and this is for whatever the color of the candidate, if the percentage of voters of the same race as the candidate is not at least close to parity to the actual overall voter split, then the percentage above the split is most likely racists. Since Obama got ~50%, then I'd expect about 50% of blacks to have voted for him, not exactly but at least near it. Given that the percentage was in the mid 90s, I can only conclude that somewhere around the 40-50% of blacks are demonstratively racists. Blacks did, without a doubt, contribute to the win for Obama. Blacks tend to be hit hard by a bad economy which Obama certainly sustained, yet they asked for more of it. Why?

I work at a University Medical Center and My retirement is done by the government, I'm considered a government employee. I know they're not "social media" per se, but the message boards I've checked on Internet Archive from after the 2004 Kerry loss aren't filled with anything close to the same vitriolic meltdowns from Democrats that we're seeing from today's Republicans. I even went to Democratic Underground, thinking there'd be no shortage of hyperbolic rants, and didn't see much beyond concerns about tampering with votes in Ohio and Florida. Compared to what the freepers are freeping about now, for example, it was downright calm. Maybe there's some insanely ultra-liberal hippie message board full of tin hats from back then I could look up, but I couldn't name one off the top of my head.

Note: I never go to DU, so I can't vouch for anything beyond what Internet Archive has on hand. I'm not saying there aren't mounds of salt in there, but nothing was making itself obvious. In 2004, the current events message boards I visited had plenty of Democrats that were upset with the election, but none of us came near the extremes that we've been seeing on display here. Personal attacks on Bush basically mimicked whatever was on the Daily Show that week. There were also arguments with Republicans about the whole Swiftboat campaign, the futility of the Iraq war, the Bush tax cuts and so on, but these were all... you know... actual issues. I realize this is all anecdotal, but it's all I have to go on. It's still better than a hypothetical.

Side-note: The closest I've personally been to a post-election meltdown was when I told my Republican roommates in 2000 "Well, just so you know, we're going to be going back to war with Iraq. I shit you not."
