Video: Bronies (grown men) invade little girls' section of Toys R Us

Adventure Time is certainly not aimed for kids. It's the same with Regular Show or The Amazing World of Gumball. Sure kids could sit and watch and maybe get a kick off of it but they certainly don't seem like they are aimed for kids.
Admittedly, Adventure Time is perhaps more adult than anything else. I'm not that familiar with the series. Perhaps Flapjack is valid alternative? Either way, the point remains. There seems to be no 'adult humor' hidden in MLP to reach a broader audience.

Wow, are flip-flops something people can't wear nowadays without ridicule? It's hard to keep track of what people are hating on nowadays lol I hate wearing them, but why should anyone care if someone else does?

You can replace flip flops with boat shoes and you'll look 1000x times better.

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice there was only ONE collared shirt in that entire video? Sheesh.

No, going into a toy store to buy MLP toys is hardly mature as a grown man. I am referring to you saying that there is something wrong with buying videogames at a toy store. Like you would have to be ashamed to do something like that. Just strikes me as silly.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with buying video games there, I just don't see why you would when there's plenty of other places to buy them. Sure, maybe there are good deals, but is it really worth all the trouble just to save a few bucks on a video game? In my case the nearest Toys R Us is miles away, why go there to get a "good" deal when I can go to one of the many stores that are much closer, and that I won't feel uncomfortable in?

But there's so many other places that sell that stuff, why go to a Toys R Us store?
TRU exclusive ponies.

My partner likes the show a lot. I've watched it with her and find it to be fairly fun and charming. I've bought her merchandise, in person, and didn't find it embarssing or whatever. That being said, the pony fuckers are pretty much the worst. I hate it. Not everything needs to be sexualized, you guys.

Ultimately, I feel the same way about bronies as I do anime fans (or really fans of anything nerdy): There are segments of the population which are horrible, and segments that are pretty cool.

But there are dozens of "cute" kid shows out there. Why do all the adult males flock to this one in particular?

If you can't find something that really stands out in the show to warrant such a fanbase, the only explanation left is something besides the show itself. For example: wanting to belong to a community that doesn't poohpooh the idea of watching a kids show. And somehow the MLP fanbase reached critical mass to attract people wanting to belong to a community. But it might as well have been over another "cute kids show" in an alternate universe.

D: why are flip flops so bad?

They're unsanitary and nobody wants to see your feet, not to mention that they're just plain ugly. If a lot of these flip flop wearers would take just a small amount of time on their appearance, it would probably improve their self esteem dramatically.

Because of Lauren Faust's desire to make the show appealing for adults who are forced to watch it with their three-year-old daughter.

AND it attracts the furries. Put two and two together...

It's the fanbase. If the fanbase wasn't so awesome I'd probably have given up on this show a while ago, and I'm sure that plenty of others feel the same way.

I must admit I get a bit carried away when buying Pixar Cars toys for my boy and end up buying ones which I think are cool as well as the ones he likes but this is just sad

Lets see.. you have a guy with a pony tail, someone with a fedora, and another guy with headphones around his neck in the store. Pretty much what I was expecting

I'd feel uncomfortable walking into a TRU as a person in my mid 20s. It just seems like a place I'd have no business in, since I don't have kids.

You know toys r us has a video game section? Like m Rated games? Unless you subscribe to the man child attitude towards games, it seems like tere is something there for adults, albeit a small area.

Lol I never understood the obsession with this. I mean, I have a few friends who geniunely like the show but I just don't see it. Adventure Time and Regular Show I really like though, only because the the outrageous humor they contain. But My Little Pony? I just...

I like how everyone is pointing out that it's okay to go through a TRU because of video games, but no one has mentioned that people in their mid twenties also purchase toys for; their children, nieces, nephews, siblings, cousins, baby showers, etc etc etc.

There are literally dozens of logical reasons why someone in their mid 20s would be in a TRU - and if you are sincerely uncomfortable about it you suffer from self esteem and social anxiety issues.

every time i go to wallmart there are like 5 of those blind bag pouches ripped open and the toy missing.

tbh this video aint that bad, at least they didnt start singing or screaming 'FOR CELESTIA!' or some bullshit like that.

also they are slowly releasing toys and merch for the older fan base.

the main demo for decades has been little girls, jeez give them some time to adjust, this is new territory for Hasbro.

have they seen Hot Topic? we have a bunch of shit for us, stop complaining about it.

I find it amusing that non-fans often seem more vocal then the actual fans. That the prospect of people liking the show greatly offends them, and it must be some joke or them being ironic. They are adults, they are allowed to like what they want.
