Nintendo Downloads - November 2012

Can't believe they're still going forward with the WiiWare release. It's never going to meet the sales threshold.

I was originally going to get RCR for both PSN and Wiiware...but after buying it on PSN and finding out how mediocre the game is...I'll be skipping the Wiiware version.

WiiU/3DS seems logical. I don't quite get it either.

It's been in work a looooong time. Wouldn't surprise me if they'd made significant progress before 3DS eShop was even a thing. Either way you'll technically be able to play this on your Wii U via legacy mode. I'd say the dev couldn't afford 3DS dev kits, but if he made it for the Vita... I'd love to play it on my 3DS in nice crisp 3D.

It's already been claimed by CoolS, unfortunately. You both could probably collaborate though.

Oh hell, gone and made it now. I'll gladly give his prominence should he go through with it.

Whoa, I haven't been following this, which platforms? I thought your game looked interesting from the start, if it's in 3D then whoa! I'd probably get it on Wii U as well, I'm getting a Deluxe with the digital deal.

Sorry, no WiiU version, 3DS only. And yes it's in 3D, though honestly I'm not sure how I feel about stereoscopic 3D for this game. It's somewhat weird considering the artstyle are kindof trying to make it look more 2D than it actually is from the start. But it works fine in 3D and looks decent so I'm leaving that choice to the players.

The US version of Gunman Clive has just been approved by lotcheck, so I'm still hopeful it might make it out this month or next month at the latest. I need to resubmit the European version though.
That's interesting. Can you say what the problem was? I thought all Nintendo subsidiaries had the same standards, barring language, rating and office requirements, of course.

Pretty much the same standards, but you do seperate submissions for all of them. There were some issues in the e-manual for the european version, and one minor thing that the American team didn't report. The first US submission failed as well (again mostly e-manual stuff; I really should have been more careful when reading the guidelines for that, but a few other things as well), and I fixed those issues before the european submission.

I see, thanks for the info.

If they could put it on the Wii U eShop...

Well, see, if WiiWare had the same place on the Wii U shop that DSiWare has on the 3DS shop, it wouldn't be so bad... but we know that WiiWare/VC/etc are in the Wii Application Ghetto, so I can't imagine many new owners checking out any WiiWare stuff.

Even current Wii owners don't check the Shop Channel. I couldn't even arse myself to boot it up and download La Mulana. Granted the unfortunate way Wii games have to be separated left me rather thankful I didn't go on any VC spending spree. Here's to hoping devs start republishing their wares on Wii U.

5 bucks? Nice.

I hope these games sell enough that the Shop game comes out, that's the one I really care about.

Man, I just assumed WiiWare stuff would all be mixed in with the Wii U store and it would all instantly get a new fresh place to sell like the 3DS did.

I figured anything recently released could get the chance to live on sales wise in a whole new land of opportunity.

This isn't the case? You can't just go on the Wii U store and download all the stuff previously on Wii? Can you access the Wii store from the Wii U still? Stupid round-abouts way of doing it but better than nothing?

Also I bet Nintendo release all their VC stuff again in special 'U' form that can work on the Wii U pad and some other shit (online leaderboards or something? accomplishments?) so they can charge for it again.

Retro City Rampage isn't very good anyway.

Does the full game follow the same structure (or lack thereof) as the demo? The demo felt very schizophrenic, immediately throwing you from one situation to the next without any real rhyme or reason. Definitely put a damper on my expectations for the game.

I'm definitely in for Aeroporter at $4.99. I decided to wait on Liberation Maiden due to price and questionable quality.

I enjoyed Liberation Maiden once I got my head around the controls, but it's super short, like 1 1/2 hours. Which imo isn't bad, I like short games. Worth a look at least.

It eventually slows down a little but it's basically a nonstop barrage of references to the 80s and video games and stuff from beginning to end, without any real context a lot of the time. Just like "Hey, look, a Saved by the Bell parody! You remember Saved by the Bell, right?"

Apparently there's an update out for the Wii.

Yay.

Also, this is coming to the Wii U.

Read the official description below, courtesy of Nintendo Everything:

Description

Spin the Bottle is a party game for Wii U supporting up to 8 players. The game pushes the players’ attention away from the screen and onto each other with a series of collaborative micro challenges where players have to look at each other in order to win. The players sit in a circle around the Wii U Game Pad and spin a virtual bottle in order to pair up two random players to take a challenge. The challenges are carried out with Wii Remotes and might involve tight coordination, daring trust, body contact or extreme flexibility.

History

The people behind KnapNok Games have since 2008 been part of Copenhagen Game Collective and developed experimental party games such as Dark Room Sex Game (an awkward no-graphics erotic rhythm game) and B.U.T.T.O.N. (a roughhouse game about pushing buttons and cheating. The fact that Nintendo’s Wii U console is the first console which let you play with turned off TV screen makes it an obvious platform for a party game where players look at each other rather than the screen. KnapNok Games naturally decided to embrace this opportunity and design a party game for the young and the adault audince. KnapNok Games teamed up with Swedish indie studio Redgrim. When Redgrim’s artist, Simon Gustafsson, is not re-watching his collection of “Two and a Half Men”* he cranks out amazing graphics designs. *See additional link

Features

Play while the TV is turned off! Use only the Wii U Game Pad and Wii Remotes.
Gameplay that makes the players look at each other.
Über cute graphics.
Crispy music by Swedish musician/hacker Nicklas Ström.
Innocent game for innocent kids.

I posted this in the media create page yesterday.

It's sorta strange some of the 'retail-only' games in the eShop have a marked 'PRICE: TBD' on them, while some don't. I wonder if some of these are actually headed to the eShop with no announcement. Off the top of my head, Zero Escape: VLR and Harvest Moon are marked this way.

Nono, on the European eShop is listed as (retail/downloadable), with the price (40 Euro) and the release date. I'll check it again to see if it was an error or anything.

Ah, Fallblox is 192 blocks.
