Fucking tease. :(

YOPO unfortunately, does not make any financial sense unless you are the console manufacturer. Only Sony will do this because they want to push the hardware.

Depends.
If you don't spend a ton of money on the Vita port and making it crossbuy increases your sales numbers because people are more willing to buy it at normal price, everybody wins.

Not really. People are more inclined to buy YOPO games because they think it's a great deal, and it's not like the developer is missing on sales from people that would have bought the game twice. That number is far more insignificant, specially for a downloadable game.

Exactly.

Good stuff.

After having absolutely no interest in Sound Shapes, on a whim I purchased the game. Man, its wicked creative so far. I really see myself falling in love with the game. The game is subtle, artsy and whimsical, so far. Really glad I decidedtogive it a go.

Did you miss the non-Sony YOPO games?

Other than Retro City Rampage and When Vikings attack, what else are there?

Also, I am pretty confident that YOPO games will be few and far in between in non-first party games in the future, for the reasons I have stated. Time will tell.

I've been really up and down on that, and ultimately decided to give it a pass. I may yet try it out though, there are certainly elements I like, not the least of which is the Superbrothers bit.

Wow...This is smart and sort of a nice exploitable way to get cross-play games for cheap. I will likely be doing this.

How so?

How much do you expect the game to trade in for?
I could be wrong of course.

Not really.
You could probably come out of it with a digital copy for like $15 bucks afterwards (assuming private sale for $50-$55).
Yeah, I meant if he did trade it in.

Stardrone Extreme, Hustle Kings, Pinball Arcade, Zen Pinball, Foosball 2012

I keep thinking I want to buy Sound Shapes but for some reason I haven't yet. Now I'm probably going to get caught in the trap of waiting for it to be an instant game collection game with PS+.

Sounds shapes is an odd game, when it works (the beck levels) it's fantastic but when it's slow and not good music it's just boring and frustrating

WELP...my PS3 just YLOD....:( SO I guess more use for the Vita....

Does the official wireless headset for the PS3 happen to work with the Vita someway/somehow?

GameStop employee told me to Buy PS3 version of PSAS to get free Vita version then trade in PS3 version same day lol

This is why I expected nly digital purchases to get the cross buy thing.

Though if the PS3 version has an online code, and if you needed that code to get your Vita version, how much would that drop the trade in by?

None. To GS, all they care about is the game itself, whether it comes with an online pass, code or anything.

Surprising. Incredible how many people were complaining about online passes lowering the value of their trade ins only for it to have had no effect.

I wonder how much Sony will be missing out on people doing just this, hopefully not enough for them to stop doing it.

But i dunt no if i wil lyk it.

BUY IT NAO!

lol. I think you might have been typecast mate!

I'm still playing TOM BLitz every day, up to level 52 now. Sadly only like 5 people on my friends list play, so far this week I'm on a max of 16 million (pathetic compared to many) but still about 8 million ahead of my nearest rival for the week.

Also nearly at the end of the 2nd world in LBP. I can't help but think they should have called it LBP3. A proper numbered release.

Most of these comments sounds like the game follows a style of play that you don't enjoy. ie, shumps that can't be memorized rather than complaints about the game itself. I think a shump that focus on quick reflexes and adapting to different situations is a better game than one that put emphasis on memorizing its layout.

EDIT: in fact I'm not a shump fan for those exact same reasons. I highly dislike games that enforce you to learn a layout.

his descriptions sounded like old school shmups which I prefer anyway. If powerups are randomised, I would assume (hopefully correctly) that they aren't required to beat a boss. only if they are absolutely required would that be a failure of game design.

This makes me smile. I think Sound Shapes is underrated. I know it was a critical darling, but many gamers looked at it in terms of gameplay time and passed. "It's just a platformer that's stylish" or whatever.

I thought it was really emotionally evocative. When I fly I frequently play the Beck and Superbrothers levels over again. I wish it would get some DLC.

It's pretty much half JRPG, half visual novel.

Half of the game takes place in day to day life. You go to school, hang out with friends. A large amount of the fun here comes from watching the people develop their stories. They're often poignant and very well written. An example would be the dying boy who is trying to a write a novel, or the eccentric TV personality/salesman who takes you under his wing.

The other half is a dungeon crawler. At night you run around randomly generated areas (Either in a giant tower in P3, or in a world inside the TV on P4) and whack monsters in turn based combat. You can also summon and fuse demons like in other MegaTen titles.

It is amazing. I've heard it compared to a JRPG equivalent of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and I'd say that holds true pretty well. The tone combines humour, seriousness etc. rather well.

sounds interesting. Pick me one to play - ideally an earlier title in the series which is relatively cheap to get into, but if the latest one is likely the best I'll investigate too.
