Giant Bomb Thread The Third: #TeamBrad

Jeff doesn't own a house, he lives in a shelter made out of nothing but PC Engine and Nintendo tapes somewhere deep in the CBSi building, the 'Comcast Guy' was actually a security guard who stumbled upon it. It all makes sense! Follow the money

Is this 'The Ricker' or a different roommate?

Saw someone with a GB hoodie out in the wild today. My first time ever seeing something like that. Not gonna lie, for a second, I thought about asking for his gaf name.

You know the hilarity of the CoD Vita thread hating on GB? Check out the ZombiU thread; they're going nuts over a 4.5 score from Gamespot and now I fully understand the pain some of you felt last time.

I think he rated it pretty fairly. I would rate it higher, but you can't really argue with his points.

It leaked early, check the OT.

Or don't if you don't want your mind to melt from idiotic posts.

I agree with Kaijima in that thread, the Wii U is gonna be intrinsically divisive due to people either accepting it for what it is or going in with preconceived notions or a traditional-oriented mindset or just outright hating it on the onset. All this is exacerbated since it's a new console launch in a long while and people are rabid.

Also I trust Edge more than Gamespot, but I still don't trust Edge that much (or any reviewer basically).

ZombiU was the sole reason I was thinking about picking up the WiiU.
Ultimately, that wasn't going to be the case long term though right? So maybe it was the inspiration to be there day one, but what's the next big release for you? The Wonderful 101? MonHun 3? Bayo 2?

I think assuming the next attractive release is in the next year, you're not going to save money on holding out until that game comes.

The game I was looking forward to most, as well :( The launch line-up got a whole lot weaker if it turns out to be shit.

Maybe I will watch the stream tomorrow to see what the GB guys think of it.

I'll have Mario, Nintendoland and Sonic Racers even if I do ditch it, at least.

ZombiU QL is going up way before the stream. So everyone in the US should be able to take a look at it before they go out to buy.

Man, I wish that Wii U livestream was happening today. It's pouring rain and it would be the perfect thing to have going in the background.

I'm a Brit so I have two weeks to keep the pre-order of ZombieU or trash it for something else, thankfully!

I just wanted a bit of a black out, but I need to know if I should drop so much money on that game now.

Yeah, I was thinking about picking it up tomorrow. Long term, I'll still probably get it for Zelda and Mario. ZombiU was the game where I said to myself "I have to play this game".

Hopefully that gamespot review is just the outlier.

I never thought Red Steel was as terrible as everyone else, so when I called ZombiU the WiiU's Red Steel, it wasn't even intended as that harsh of a troll. :(

Calling it now, Shyamalan twist, Jeff hasn't lived with anyone in 10 years.

No.

Shyamalan twist: Jeff Gerstmann has been gone for 10 years, the guy we're familiar with is his roommate who assumed his identity in order to keep the paychecks coming.

If you think about it, it explains a LOT.

You could tell when Giant Bomb jumped the shark when the real Jeff Gerstmann came back, and our Gerstmann turned out to be "Armin Tamzarian."

that's a low score for wind waker

Wind Waker is a clear case of style over substance, it has some of the dullest dungeons in the entire series, & a tedious & ill-conceived overworld. I firmly believe the scores it received were a reaction to the over-reaction to the art-style (which was awesome), & if it looked like a "normal" Zelda game would be scored much lower than TP (which despite all it's flaws is a significantly better game in pretty much every way).

So you're a style over substance kind of guy?

:Brofist.

I agree with you, so you are objectively correct. That's how being objective works.

And at the end, not-Jeff stands up from the wheelchair and it turns out he must have felt when that guy stabbed him in the leg.

Some of you guys are nuts, Wind Waker is a delight.

The Skyward Sword reviews, though? Even 4 stars is high. What a dull-ass game.

I've learned not to trust Gamespot's reviews for a long time now. Considering ZombiU got a 7 from Edge, of all places, I'm gonna guess it's not all bad. I'd like to know what GB has to say about it.

Also, Wind Waker is the most fun Zelda imo. (damn you triforce shards!)

Edge used to be the holy grail of reviews for me but in recent years I haven't been able to use their scores as a measure of much. I just like their features now.

Why don't you trust GS? I can't remember the last time they were majorly wrong about a game. Usually they're the most honest, along with GB.
