Who are the hottest posters on NeoGAF?

Yes. The mens should post shirtless and have a swimsuit competition.

>_> <_<
I dunno... I think I'm kinda cute, but I'm more of a twink than a stud, so I may get more gayming age love and I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that.

I was feeling pretty good about sneaking onto a few lists of intelligent forum members. Then I took a shower and got shampoo up my nose. This is after somehow getting soda water up my nose a few days ago. I've got a problem and unfortunately I don't think it has anything to do with being too smart. :/

No love for Amir0x? I've always enjoyed his critiques of his beloved Nintendo, especially during the Wii/DS generation.

some great noms here, some weird ones too...people leaving off stumpkapow confuse me. gaming side relies on him, shockingalberto, kajima & a few others.

Kentpaul, he operates on an entirely different level from everybody else.

haha...seconded, for similar reasons

also all these smokeydave noms...dude cant even use buttons

weekend_warrior.

that post election meltdown pretty much sealed that deal, for sure

No one can have a 100% batting average, but we have a lot of smart people trying to do their best over here.

KHarvey16, Log4Girls, those guys with the El Dorado avatars (sorry for not knowing you handles) are some of my favorites.

Most of the time, the laissez faire good guy Greg demeaner of SmokeyDave makes him come off as a smart and genuine dude.

Here's how to inflate your own standing in these threads:

1. Learn how to speak authoritatively
2. Make sure all your facts are lined up
3. Limit your posts to situations when you can accomplish the former

You'll sound like a genius in no time, even if you're prone to being really dumb much of the time.

I'm flattered I'm still getting mentioned even when people don't have a reason to suck up to me. Thanks.

This is a core part of my strategy :P
I'm very selective of which "big" topics I try and make an impact on, and I'm content in many to let other posters say what I would better than I could.

Also, in situations when you would find it difficult or just don't have the motivation or desire to step in, it's always nice to have unwitting surrogates to pick up the slack.

Now we are getting intelligent here.

Hito, you are giving away trade secrets!

This was pretty much my 3-point plan when I came to neogaf: write fewer posts, but make them better edited and better researched.

Alas, I find it difficult to avoid replying when a post rubs me the wrong way, even if I don't have the time or ability to clearly express why. You need to be very level-headed to successfully follow through on a plan like that.

Yeah, this is something I've learned over the years. In the past I frequently embarrassed myself by jumping headlong into topics on which I was actually quite ignorant.

Opiate is good at using logical sub-routines to break down bad arguments even when his library doesn't contain extensive knowledge of the topic at hand. His programmer did a damn good job with that part of his AI. You might try emulating that style, if you can.

Avoiding looking silly on the internet is an issue of some importance. Lives have been ruined.

There have been tears, seriously.

In all seriousness, I think Kaijima is the most intelligent poster on this forum. Never did I ever see such a reasonable person in my entire life.

Yeah, I lose my cool and go off on people too often. I'll also just leave a thread if I'm too annoyed with the argument that results. Probably doesn't help my standing.

Yessssss, we are many. Bring us your photos, skinny boys!

You could also Amir0x it and just overwhelm your opponent with tedious, wrong arguments until he gives up.
Like Game Analyst in the AvT thread? That hasn't really helped our estimation of him.

Screw that.

I post strings of words like "vagina bones" and "assless chaps" and two people called me intelligent!

Two people!

Soon they may even give me human rights!

For the most part people appear to be listing others who are verbose, play nice and can string together three sentences in a row without falling all over themselves. (To be fair the three of these in combination is rare)

A fair number of the repeats in these lists are guilty of producing long faux-academic screeds that collapse under careful examination - good at cultivating the appearance of thoughtfulness without necessarily the substance.

Now let's make a meanest posters of Gaf thread!

My natural laziness provides a strong defense against this. Whenever I post it's usually incredibly concise and pointed, because going into an actual screed would take work.

Opiate, Stump, kame-sennin first come to mind.
Brain_stew, Thraktor, Kaijima (whom I don't always agree with, but still) are close seconds.
Charlequin kind of makes the list but I have my gripes with him.
Thunder Monkey, in a twisted way.
Devo.

Among former members: definitely Segata and Dragona.

[EDIT] Crap, I knew I forgot Tobor, LCfiner, Liu Kang baking a Pie and numble. Numble in particular always brings much needed perspective to threads about China.
