As much as I really want to love this, the low budget really holds it back. Feels like I'm watching a coloured manga with voice-overs compared to Part3's OVA.

I just hope Part 2 will reel me back in.

Twin stars, streaking through the heavens
Stir the surface of light and darkness

Jonathan and Dio

The sun leads those who seek the path of glory
Demanding a sacrifice from all who pursue their ambition

Jonathan and Dio

The curtain rises on an endless tale
Let the sparks as lives clash cast light on the days of your youth
May fortune shine on the future you bring!
The fate of that blood!
JoJo!

About Jonathan beginning the Jojo legacy.

Two fates knot into one inseperably
It all began at that moment

Can't get more Jonathan and Dio than that.

Yeeeeeah, it really can't get any more obvious what the song is about.

I don't know, that's what was posted a few pages back for the full version of the op.

I haven't seen GG's, but I like the ones of MMM. Mostly

Two stars fall from the sky
One shining in the light, the other sinking into darkness

One will walk the path of pride and receive the sun's guidance
One will walk the path of unbridled ambition...
Demanding sacrifice!

and

You cannot overcome your pain unless you can accept...
The legacy of your bloodline!
Jojo!

Zepelli-san!!!!! i salute you, went down like a boss

i still cant believe how good the ending song is, and also how its handled, just pure awesomeness.

so we got what 2 episodes left till battle tendency?

Yeah, the final battle is definitely going to be only one episode considering the scenes used for the preview, and after that it's just the ending and hopefully the episode ends with the introduction of Joseph.
Old Speedwagon could be the last thing of the episode too, but ending with Joseph would be much more awesome.

I didn't watch the preview, did it show
Jojo's final fight with Dio's head
?

The official Jojo TV anime twitter account confirms that Battle Tendency will start from episode 10 onwards. It also posted the previously reported cast list, and confirmed that both Speedwagon and Erina will have the same voice cast from Phantom Blood.

There is also news that the composer will change with Battle Tendency. Taku Iwasaki (ROD, Gurren Lagann) will take over from Hayato Matsuo (Hellsing Ultimate).

In case anyone wanted to see the pic in better quality.

Btw, anyone know what this is? It's in the same page as the part 2 anime info.

From what little I can read, Battle Tendency in a single book with color pages? Man that'd be awesome to own.

It's the first half of Battle Tendency collected as a trade paperback complete with all the original color pages. They'll be releasing the second half later too. The price is 880yen. Pretty good deal.

It really does sound like one. Hmm, as an idea of how it is, it'd be kinda comparable to the VizBig volumes that were done for RuroKen and Dragon Ball, right? Those looked great.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Haven't heard any of his recent works.

He hasn't been great since Lagann in 07, his lowest point was probably Kami-sama no Memo-chō, or maybe it was C, or maybe it was Bento...

Still would be awesome if he returned to form temporarily for Jojo, though he's flabby and sick like Larry Holmes now.

Just sucks how seeing my fav anime composer working on something turned from being hyped as fuck to thinking please don't suck.

Some updates on what to expect from the Battle Tendency music:

Both tweets confirm that the soundtrack for Battle Tendency is going to feature quite a bit of vocal BGM, which is pretty much expected from Iwasaki. It should match the tone of the story nicely imo, being more upbeat and trendy in early 20s America instead of the more somber and dramatic classical tone which Phantom Blood has.

The description for the new OP - Bloody Stream also tells us what sort of musical mood they're trying to set for the second part of the series. It's supposed to be a jazzy and danceable song with vocals by Coda, and it is composed and arranged by Toshiyuki Omori (Dirty Pair, School Rumble), with lyrics by Saori Kodama (Hyouka OP/ED lyrics).

Also, confirmation that the 2 rap tracks Iwasaki recorded with Lotus Juice last month are for Battle Tendency. They're battle themes apparently.

Rap for Part 2? Well that's... interesting? Not sure how that fits the 1920s, ha. Spoilers for later parts:
Do any of the main antagonists have rap-based Stand names? Closest I can think of are Vanilla Ice and Notorious B.I.G.

I think a couple of characters and their stands in Steel Ball Run are based on a J-Rap group.

edit: actually it was just the characters.

I think it fits Joseph's character, being a brash and arrogant trash-talking hero. The music doesn't have to match the era its in imo, only the tone. Lotus Juice is best known for their work on the Persona games and anime, and there's that hip and trendy sound which would fit well with the ton of Jojo's 1930s America.

Well, Joseph and Caesar, yes. I'm just not sure it particularly matches the Pillar Men, though I'm kind of at loss what would (insert Village People joke here).
