JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation |OT| Your next post will be... OH MY GOD!

What plot hole was that? I really don't remember anything.

Phantom Blood ending and beginning of Stardust Crusaders spoilers
Dio survived the boat's explosion because he hid with Jonathan's body in his coffin before the light could reach him. Makes sense right? Wrong. How could've Dio hidden in his coffin when Erina used said coffin to survive together with baby Lisa Lisa? It's not like this is easy to fix at all. The only reason Erina and Lisa Lisa survived was because of Dio's coffin since it was the only place they could've taken cover from the explosion. No coffin for Erina, and the Joestar bloodline ends there, but no coffin for Dio and everything after part 2 can't exist.

Oh, I see it now. That should be an easy fix for the Anime, if the makers realize it.
Just put them on a life boat, and have it pushed away by the explosion. Screw physics.

I'm pretty sure that
an explosion like that would totally kill them outside of Dio's coffin.
But hey, this is anime I guess, or more specifically, Jojo.

An explosion of that magnitude would kill them inside of the coffin, too. Just put them on a boat.

Episode 5

The pacing in this will never cease to amaze me. I fuckin love this show. So much ham(on) that I can't help but be hyped up just like the characters. Zeppeli running across the lake had me cracking up.

Speedwagon is as bro as ever. "Quick, use my muscles to heal your arm!". What a badass.

I never noticed before how Bruford almost kind of looks like he could be one of the Pillar Men.

Episode 6

That was really, really, really good. I think this is one of the best episodes of the series so far. They slowed down the pace, but handled the material so well I felt the fights and flashbacks were more effective than the original manga material. There were some scenes in the manga which had pretty confusing layouts and transitions, but here they made it flow really well. Extremely strong episode.

The next few episodes are going to be -crazy-. Lol. :D

Yeah, they surprised me by not having the pacing be a little faster so that they could end the episode with that event, but I think I like it better this way.
Poor Zepelli has only like 5-10 more minutes of screentime left :(

Phantom Blood is definitely ending at episode 9 now I think. 7 will be
Zepelli's death, the end of Tarkus, the introduction of Dire and Straights, and will likely end in them reaching Dio's castle.
8 will be the final battle, maybe even without the ending too like episode 3 to make the most of the episode. 9 will be the end of part 1 and hopefully it finishes with the introduction of Joseph.

Anyways, they cut the whole trial of the rings thing flashback didn't they? Eh, it's for the best. The question for next week is if they'll show
the mother eating her own baby
or if they will cut that scene out entirely.

...Oh god I just remembered next week we'll likely have the
zombies with the body of dogs and the heads of men.
I am NOT looking forward to that, eww.

Yeah I think episode 9 being the end of Phantom Blood and the start of Battle Tendency at the same time would be a good decision, if they go with that. It would also parallel how the manga did it, since Vol5 contains both the end of PB and the start of BT. By not dividing the arcs cleanly, it also reinforces the theme that Jojo is an ongoing cycle of stories.

They cut out the 77 Rings flashback, but I don't think anyone really misses that. Lol. :)

Ep 6

Man the soundtrack is kicking ass. I really thought it would happen this episode.

The transition to the ED was pretty chilling. Next episode is gonna be good.

Yup, it'd be the best way to do it because of that. To me, for the transition to be perfect, the episode would have to end at this exact moment.

Just imagine, Roundabout starts playing in the background during the last seconds of the episode, and then this happens. The frame freezes there dramatically, and then the "to be continued" arrow appears on the screen.

Episode 6

Man, I have to get around to reading the rest of Battle Tendency with Phantom Blood nearing the end so quickly.

Anyone else want the topic title to change to "I'll be the Roundabout"

If we're changing the thread's subtitle I demand we find a way to make "Depending on your answer I will kick your ass!" fit in there for the duration of Battle Tendency :T

I'm still upset they cut out the Aztec Sacrifice scene that opened up the manga version. :(

Maybe that'll be on the BluRay. Not having that scene was pretty disappointing.

That tune when Jonathan tried to send hamon through the chain collar sounded like some 16-bit RPG boss battle theme. I quite liked it.

goddamn this episode was godlike!!!!! so much manliness, i still pretty amazed on how the anime is adapting the manga, amazed as in HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS AWESOME!

lead to the ending was done spectacularly
tho poor zepelli has his minutes counted.

Now that phantom blood is ending im trying to imagine how will the voice of cars or ac/dc be. Will the voice of joseph be similiar to the video game or to the previous ova(yeah i know its old joseph but still), will it be something like jonathan's?

man im hyped for CAESAAAAAAAAAR!!

Episode 6

Do I even need to say anything? This is still amazing. It's like what the stereotype of anime was back during the 90s, but in the best possible way.

On top of all the action and overdramatic statements, we also got bros being bros (even the enemies), and an absolutely amazing transition to the ED.

This nonstop roller-coaster isn't going to let up until the end and I couldn't be happier.

I can't wait to see Joseph with Sugita's voice <3
If they got his BFF (Nakamura Yuichi) for Caesar its will even more awesome.

Episode 6

The brohood was off the chart in this episode.
Excellent, really excellent.
Please Japan, receive this well and let it go on at least until part 4.

Jojo 6

I'LL BE THE ROUNDABOUT
THE WORDS WILL MAKE YOU OUT 'N' OUT
I'LL SPEND THE DAY YOUR WAY
CALL IT MORNING DRIVING THROUGH THE SOUND
AND IN AND OUT THE VALLEY

...Well, shit, now I really want that to be what happens.

Speaking of VAs, I feel a little stupid for not realizing before that the reason they bothered to cast Josuke and Okuyasu "just" for some Jojolion/Ultra Jump commercials right now is because of the game.

Episode 6
JOOOO JOOOOOOOO
Amazing episode, damn.
Manliest show ever.

After the TV series finishes, go watch the Jojo OVAs that cover the third story arc. Now *THAT* is straight up the manliest thing ever produced.

The OVA doesn't cover all the events of Part 3, sadly...but the
D'arby the gambler encounter
is still among the most epic battles in shonen history.

Now that was one hell of an episode, which is weird to say, but I liked it more than last week's. The tracks really stood out in this one. Fuck I miss the Ripple! Can't wait for the next one.

What hat? That's his hair.

Araki never really draws a separation and even joked in an interview that they're both joined or something like that :P

Where does his hat end and his hair begin?
Araki's realm does not lie within the mundanities of hair/hat separation, it lies in manly fabulousness.

This anime is what people crave for when they say they miss the stuff of the 80's, love it!

Well, I haven't heard anything bad about them. It just has some names changed like the game and maybe a little censoring here and there I think it was with some dogs?

Yeah, I think they turned dogs into rats considering all the horrible things done to them in part 3. Not sure what they did with Iggy though.

Thanks guys, I added the last volumes to my cart =)

BTW does anyone know if there's an airings ratings list of sorts to see how well the JoJo anime is doing over in Japan?
