I think you are, Darksiders at 120fps still pales in comparison to the design quality of a Zelda. There is no character action game on PC that even resembles the quality of Bayonetta. There are exclusive games which have no parallel on PC.

The PC port of DMC 4 is by far the best version, but I agree Bayonetta is in a different class.

Tweeted Patrick about the shitty Black Ops 2 scam. I really hope he does his thing with it, first time in ages I've felt so angry about something like this. If anyone can write a good piece on this it will be him.

Real nice having someone on the team you trust to call out bullshit like this.

It's a stupid bullshit move but I dunno how you can justify calling it a scam. They didn't take anybody's money, it's a free preorder bonus. I don't think it's quite up there with the other big stories Patrick has written on.

I almost never agree with Folorium but he is right, There were alot of people that preordered it mainly for the map and for them to take it out of rotation with no good reason makes it look even more like one.

I'm not sure, but it was exceptionally popular. I'd be surprised if it wasn't. 250k is a lot of people to be playing one playlist at once.

Yes, it is. That is Halo 4's daily population across all playlists.

I'm thinking there may be legitimate reasons to have taken it out. Mainly, it could be noticeably affecting search times in the other hoppers.

Is Nuketown a part of the main playlist and not by itself? If so I can see why they would do it in order to not fracture playerbase already.

Right now it's not available anywhere for ranked game. The only way to play is is via custom games with friends.

I know that, but if the map can only be played by itself in it's own exclusive playlist before the pull then I can see why they would so they can merge the fanbase.

This might come in handy in some future bombcast thread.

It's not free, that's marketeer hand waving. You paid for it when you bought the game.

It's a fun and different map. I can see why CoD pros would hate it, as it's small and any noob can run around and kill you with anything.

Fun I guess is up for interpretation, in this case. Also, different? It's a re-skin of itself in Black Ops, and every single Call of Duty since 4(aka MW1) has had a map of it's size, fast paced, spawn death.

I really need the podcast right now. I want to hear them talk about the Wii U some more and i wanna know what happened with Patrick's account.

I loved playing Shipment with 30+ players on the PC version of CoD 4. Easy way to rank up.

They did take people's money.

The map was compensation to the user for paying them money before the game hit shelves. They got to use that money before the game even came out, and the map was what the user got in return. It's like if you loaned somebody money (preorder cash), and then a week after they paid you back (with the game) they took the interest (map) back out of your account.

Sounds like a scam to me.

Its hardly a scam. You still have the map. You can still play on it if you wanted to.

Its kind of moderately stupid, and obviously unpopular. I dont get WHY they would do it...but its not exactly a scam.

It's fun for me and my immediate friends. I dont really give a shit about stuff like kill death ratios and streaks. I just want to have fun running around killing dudes. I played some kill confirmed matches on it, which was pure chaos and fun.

Like I said, I can see why CoD vets hate it, since any idiot noobtard can kill them with anything. It reminds me of the area shooters where everyone is just running around and you respawn every 10 seconds. There's plenty of other maps to show off elite sniping skills or expert knowledge of the area.

It's a Call of Duty game. The entire multiplayer experience is built around joining a matchmaking playlist, leveling up, unlocking shit, repeat.

The map might as well not be in the game if it's relegated to custom games. Custom games don't earn you XP and are not serviced by any sort of matchmaking or server browser-type features (you can only join through invites). The entire time I played CoD4, I think I joined a custom game once or twice. That's not the way those games are designed to be played.

Fine, if not a scam then a cunt move. Anti-consumer. Downright twatish. I didn't write that post expecting the terminology to be under scrutiny! ;)

I get your point fully, i just don't get the anger behind it

It's just a shitty practice to arbitrarily take features away from customers, especially when it's something so popular. Nuketown 2025 was set up as its own playlist where you could go enjoy that ridiculous chaos any time you wanted. "We never close" and all. Then it's gone. That's some bait and switch BS.
