Speaking of which, do saves work via backup for all games digitally (like, if I remove Monster Hunter, does the save go away)? Also, is it in fact cheaper to buy digitally vs hard copy via PSN?

I'll get P4G on a cart sometime when it's <$20 since I don't know if I even like JRPGs anymore and have never played a Persona game.
I don't like Sony Smash for the most part and that's definitely a "buy the PS3 version for $20 or less from GF".
My PS+ is good through like 2015.
Not interested in Music Unlimited and the stuff on sale for NISA this week doesn't interest me either.
I feel compelled to do it, but even if I cave and spend $20 on the UMvC3 costume pack and purchase both Sine Mora games, that's $20 short.

Ah, Wipeout DLC is not included in the PS+ offer? How much does that cost? I notoriously need to buy all the DLC for every game I own (except excessive stuff like Disgaea).

Perfectly fine, make sure that 60$ leave your PSN wallet, not directly buying via credit card (Or has that been debunked?). Anyway, you are safe if 60$ leave your PSN wallet no matter what you buy.
Purchase anything, so it couldn't be clearer. :] For the get back $20 when you spend $100, I purchased a year of PS+ along with games and DLC so yes you can buy one year worth of subscription.

If something is being offered for free and you already own a physical copy of it, go ahead and add it to your download list anyway. That way if you end up selling it (or losing that tiny cart) you will still have access to the game (as long as you have a PS+ subscription). After it is removed from the store as a freebie, you'll have to pay for it or hope it is offered free again if you didn't add it to your download list.

Paying with a credit card actually transfer the amount in your wallet, so it's the same as buying PSN cards. You cannot however buy a PS+ 1 year subscription card in stores and use it to register as $50 spent on PSN.
So if want 1 year of PS+, buy it from PSN or else it won't count toward the promotion.

There is no reason to ever not download something on PS+.
You should always "purchase" it, even if you don't actually download it.
So after using my Wii U the past couple of days, my favorite thing by far is Wiiverse. It's just so cool. I realized Vita has about the closest thing to it with the activity logs in the live areas of each game, but it's still a FAR cry from Wiiverse. What I think would be neat is it people could comment in the activity logs of live areas. Not just reply to activities somebody did, but just put comments in there, and attach screenshots and stuff. Would be really neat and make it a little more like the Wii U's killer feature.
But then you'd have to consider, who sees it? With Wiiverse, it's by region, which works really well, but it may get a little more complicated with the activity screen in the live areas on Vita. Maybe if you had one tab for friend's activities, and then one tab for just general comments and stuff sorted by region. That would work. That way, every game has it's own little "message board" type thing. Drawings are awesome on Wiiverse too. Instead of typing a comment, you can also post a drawing, and a lot of people make some really neat drawings, and the Vita could do that, too.

The only time I think it doesn't make sense is if you already own a digital copy of the PS+ freebie. I don't see any advantage to having it in your download list multiple times.

And if you already own a digital copy of the PS+ freebie, the item will show as purchased for you anyway, so you can't re-purchase, I think.
I mean, you may say "I'll never use that, I'll never want to play it" but it's free -- whynot just associate the "purchase" with your account so you have it in case you change your mind. (Again, just rephrasing your original statement.)

If you already own whatever it is digitally, then the store may not allow you to "rebuy" the free one. Instead you will most likely see a download button instead of a buy button for it in the store. My original comment was geared towards games you already own a physical copy of.

However, they could release the free one as a different SKU so the free one would show up different from the paid one. Usually when they do that, the free SKU version doesn't show up in the store after it is longer free. In that case, you would need to go to your download list should you ever need to re-download it.

I wish they updated as fast as XBL. Stuff is usually up super early in the morning. They say updates are Tuesday, but it should really be Wednesday as updates come later in the day.

It doesn't make sense but that's the way it is. The bigger the store update, the later it comes. I would think that if they had a bigger update they would just start the prep earlier, but apparently Sony doesn't get that. Now, I still prefer this to XBL, because I like have a big update once a week instead of stuff just coming out whenever it's ready throughout. I can see the appeal of both, but I definitely like the weekly update format.
And interesting fact, store updates used to be on Wednesday if I'm remembering correctly. Edit: wait, no, it was thursdays. Even worse.

I was soooo close to snatching up that deal as well,but then I came to my senses and realized that I only listen to free music anyway. Even though 12$ is cheap, it would be 12$ wasted.

My new Vita I ordered from Target just came in. I got it for 250 but it came with a gift card, it was basically 200.
Someone from Amazon said that they're going to have a deal for the ACL White Vita for 200 plus something else that will "make you want to buy it from Amazon".
I can't tell if I should wait until friday before opening the one I have so that I can return it to Target if this deal is way better or not.
I guess it helps that I have a ton of homework so I don't really have time to play... Also I kinda would rather have a black Vita than a white one.
