Wii U back in stock at GameStop

After that Giant Bomb public service broadcast on launch day, I'm going to be staying away for quite some time.

Same here. This is the third chance I've had to buy one, and I just can't knowingly pull the trigger on a console with so much instability and uncertainty of how long it will be relevant.

And for folks on the fence, once you come to grips with all the things the Wii U will never be, and will never get right, it's a really competent console for what it's trying to be. At the very least, get it for Nintendo's own games. Nintendoland isn't going to win awards, but it spotlights what Nintendo's goal with the console is. NSMBU is fun, but oddly uses very little of what makes the Wii U special. Regardless, no matter what game or app you're using the console feels "alive" since you're constantly connected to everybody regardless of what they're playing. That's an interesting phenomenon that hasn't been a part of console gaming before.

I had it in my cart, got to the last part of the checkout, and then just couldn't pull the trigger. Just doesn't seem worth it right now, no games that I know of that NEED to be played, might as well wait for a sale of some kind...or some game that just means I have to get it. I want to play NSMBU but...I dunno I wasn't all the impressed with the last two. I think I can hold out on that one.

well... this must be that missing Amazon shipment

My Wal-Mart restocked today/tonight. I was in there about an hour ago and they had 4(They had zero on Sun). Looks like the plan was to get all retailers restocked before Black Friday. Of course, that's just a guess but it fits what we're seeing.

Never seen a console launch which was so readily available. Keep seeing them in stores in stock too.. so used to seeing this stuff out everywhere for months. Maybe nintendo figured it out for once to make enough for holiday demand?

I saw 2 today at the Walmart that's 0.25 miles north of Retro Studios. I had to upgrade my PC's window to have curtains to block the winter sun.

Without information on supply, knowing whether or not it's selling out doesn't tell us much.

Maybe that Moffitt guy was actually speaking the truth........ hmm...

IIRC Nintendo said that they were going to put out stock for Black Friday so it really depends on whether you believe them or not.

What did Scott Moffitt say?

Nah he's full of shit. The fact is that it's not Black Friday yet. Good luck finding one of these next month. If I'm wrong I'll eat my hat. My delicious strawberry hat.
B-b-ut I thought the wii u was a bomb and A failure! Nintendo is obviously lying about store shipments to keep people from realizing that its only still on shelves because no one wants it! Just Look at the ram for godsakes

Do we have any information on supply? Because it seems manufacturing these components should be very high yield.

The bad word of mouth is spreading and now no one wants it anymore

It will never be the Wii again(old people will not give a shit about it), but it's not going to fail. My young daughter and all her friends used it for hours this afternoon. Not playing games. Just drawing pictures and posting them to Miiverse.

Nope, I have no proof. But a bunch of "experts" pointed out a few months ago that shipments were going to be drastically reduced because of a major fire that burned down one of the factories making them. No idea though. All I know is that at console launch at a very busy Best Buy, I showed up at store opening and no one was in line. That's weird. Today I went back to that same Best Buy and they still have Wii Us. There was a line outside, but it was just a bunch of dummies waiting to get a door buster TV on Black Friday...they're spending Thanksgiving in a line outside Best Buy to save 100 dollars on a TV. Oy.
