Boise with two losses or Kent State with an automatic BCS bid?

15) Oregon State L
16) Texas L

17) UCLA TBD
18) Rutgers L
19) Michigan L
20) Louisville L

21) Oklahoma St TBD
22) Boise St
23) Kent State
Already discussed Boise St a couple of pages ago and was pointed out that they aren't going to win the conference so no go on them.

They might only need to get top 18 though depending on what happens with the Big 12.

BTW, you forget that if Kent wins out, they will have beaten a bowl-bound Bowling Green, bowl-bound Ohio that was the favorite to win it all this year (and will finish behind Kent State and BG this year) and a bowl-bound Northern Illinois that had a one-loss regular season and was undefeated in MAC West play.

Not a terrible line-up, and if Kent State went to a BCS game, I would laugh my ass off. But the joyous, suck-it-everyone-else kind of laughing.

That is in fact a terrible lineup.

What does that have to do with anything?

It's not as though Boise's last three opponents will have been substantially better.

But I digress. I doubt Kent is going anywhere but the Little Caesar's Bowl. Oklahoma State will probably win Bedlam and put this whole debate to rest, and I doubt Texas' loss to TCU will damage them enough to move the Flashes past them.

It's top 16 thats what I meant. No way the Big East champ is higher.

B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.

And Boise can still be champion if they win. Teams with no conference title game crown co-champions, the winner of the tiebreak decides who goes to the BCS in automatic qualifier leagues, but they're still all named conference champions.

Just tried to explain to my gf ( kent st grad) what a bcs bowl is and why it's a big deal, she didn't get it...

It's like a party or club, but then there's like a VIP room.

If you're good enough, you get invited to the club, but if you're REALLY good or lucky or you know certain people, you can get into the VIP room.
