who really believed this going into the year though? i wouldn't be surprised if FSU was still behind ND and a one loss SEC champion even if they had gone undefeated. especially after how much worse the ACC was than usual this season

Have you watched us all year? We smoother the run, actually tackle, and our entire secondary is full of ball hawks. The 26 we gave up today was the most points we have allowed all season and those last 6 were garbage points with time expiring.

Notre Dame is the number 1 team and he's the closest thing to a "name" player they have. If Notre Dame had a half decent QB or RB that put up crazy numbers they'd be getting a huge push, but they don't so alas, we are left with Te'o. It's pure narrative, but the Heisman has always been about that.

I think your good, but I think part of the thing is I think the SEC offenses are down this year. There are 6 teams on the FL schedule that I think have borderline horrific offensives and/or are cupcake OOC offensives. That's half your schedule. Like I said I think your D is really good. I'm just not sold on it being GREAT.

The Heisman establishment is looking for a way to not give the award to Manziel. Just as some baseball writers refuse to vote for admittance to the Hall of Fame for first time eligible players, there will be a contingent that cannot accept a (redshirt) freshman winning the award. The focus had been on Klein, a competent (but pedestrian) QB on a winning team. Completely failing to show up against Baylor (Baylor!!) ruined that narrative, and Lee was always an outside shot at WR. Te'o allows an out with a feel-good story while running under the cover of "the Heisman is for the best player, that shouldn't mean offense only".

Like a 1 if that. I expected to lose all week, and anything better than a blowout was exceeding my expectations.
Looking back we were definitely not worthy of pre-season #1, but I think this team was more talented than 7-5. A combination of bad luck, untimely injuries and the Kiffins being horrible coaches really tanked us.
My biggest hope right now is that at the very least we get rid of Monte Kiffin before next season.

If FSU wins next week it will be their 13th ACC title in the 20 years they have been in the conference, putting them one title behind Clemson for most in conference history. Clemson has been in the conference for almost 60 years though.

Well, statistically, and given that the game was in Tallahassee, FSU was clearly the favorite and should've won the game. Who'd've thought FSU would've blown their loads with five turnovers?

The ACC is garbage this year though. That doesn't really tell me anything.
PS: I think in general this is a down year for college football across the board. There are a lot of previous top 5 teams this turn of the century that I'd like more than any of the 3 teams that will be in the NC game.
