The Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread 2

Look how excited he is! I can relate since I just bought my second Vita.

I always get Raduc confused with the protaginist to the PS1 classic "Rad Duck". Man I wish they got Rad Duck in PSBAS. His level 3 could of been like the last level of the game with him snowboarding down Shred Mountain whailing on his 'Ducktar'

Same. The series could have been great, but they canceled Rad Duck 2: Quack to the Future after Columbine happened (because of the school level). I kept waiting for a PS2 Rad Duck, but it never happened, and then Digital Pond Media went under. I wonder who owns the rights?

Midway had it but went under before they could reboot it. It was probably sold to some Korean shovelware company. Rad Duck: Cheese & Quackers might be the best selling mobile game in the Pacific rim and we don't even know it.

Vita > Wii U confirmed.

But these Vita sales have me tempted. A shop down the road from me has a Vita + LBP + 4gig card + Fifa 13 (which would get traded right away) for the standard 250. Add the PS+ games I have and its a heck of a lot of gaming for just 250.

When is P4 golden out in the EU? is the US version region locked like the fighting game or did they learn there lesson?

Not sure how it compares, but Aria have 1 3G Vita left for £185.99 inc.

Well the bundle here is 250 euros + 2 games + 4 gig card. 185 pounds is 230 and I dont care for 3G so it wouldn't be a loss.

Its a christmas promotion here so i have a few weeks to decide. If the December Vita + content is good I might not have any choice. I did get a cheap used psp go last year to play PS1 classics but the screen was to small for me to play on the train without looking weird so a vita would be good for that as well.

I'd bite on that $180 white Vita if I didn't just spend $400 on a new console. Good deal.

I'm expecting a price drop sometime after Christmas. they'll have make a move after the disappointing sales.

Ahh, you mentioned Fifa so I assumed you were UK and talking £'s.

As you were.

Brad so salty he bought a Vita instead of a WiiU. :(

I recall some video or podcast where he talked about having enough sony credit card reward points to get one for free, and then still didn't really seem to care about getting one.

The vita is a sexy thing, but I don't care about the kinds of games it has. A lot of the small chunk brain age or puzzle game type stuff I did play on a DS is now available in tons of smartphone apps. I played 30 minutes of a picross game on my phone while getting my car looked at the other day.

Instead of importing it you should wait for the EU release in February.
Then if you take a slow and leisurely pace through that game then when you are finished play it again on the hardest difficulty, that should take you to the announcement of a release date for Persona 4 Arena here.

Things I've learned from the past few pages of this thread:

1. Every purchasing decision made by a GB staff member must be discussed to an unreasonable extreme and must be analyzed for any potential biases, flaws, or idiosyncrasies present in said staff member, much in the same fashion that older menopausal women discuss the actions and projected thoughts of whatever starlet or harlot is in the tabloids this week.

2. The actual content of Quick Looks must be discussed as little as possible. Unless one of the staff members says something that isn't 100% factually correct when talking and playing the game at the same time, of course.

3. If you state that PS All Stars is a complete ripoff of Smash Brothers with no redeeming qualities or that the Vita has ZERO games, you're totally accurate and levelheaded. If you state that PS All Stars actually plays pretty differently from Smash Bros. and is a totally competent fighting game on its own or that the Vita has a fair selection of decent games, you are an automatic member of the Sony Defense Force and are clearly out of touch with reality.

Sheesh. No wonder GB doesn't interact with the community all that much. It used to annoy me that they didn't do as much with the community, but I can't really blame them anymore. You take what you can get.

I know. It's hard to handle all that awesome at one time.

I think people here can last about one day without a QL before tearing each other apart. Maaaaybe two, at the most.

Those mistakes would be made whether they were playing games or not. They say stuff that is incorrect on the podcast all the time. It's okay, though, it's not like they've been working in the video games industry for a really long time or anything. There's no reason they should know more than the people watchin' and listenin'.

To be fair, most of the games worth playing on the Vita are just ports. Last time I checked, there was something like 7 or 8 Vita games on Metacritic that scored >75 that weren't ports, but a lot of those were sequels generally considered worse than the games before them (like Uncharted or WipEout).

It's not too bad, but don't be too shocked should people not share your enthusiasm for the system.

what the fuck is a radec

Why, I'm glad you asked. Radec/Radek was the semi-main bad guy from the Bruno Mattei/Reb Brown masterpiece "Strike Commando." Though why they didn't go with big baddie JAKODAAAAAAAA!!! is beyond me. After all, Radek was killed off in one grenade shot, while it took two fistfights, falling down a waterfall, and a grenade in the mouth to take down JAAAAAAAAAKOOOOOOODAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
