So I'm supposed to hate Notre Dame because it's not ashamed to be Catholic and intermix that with something as meaningless as entertainment but I'm not supposed to hate whatever SEC school they face for the title even though SEC states routinely fuck up the political process by intermixing their religion with something that actually is important (the political process) and give no fucks about it.

Do I have that right, or is there a Deadspin "hater's" guide to the Harvard of Athens, GA and the Auburn of Tuscaloosa, AL too that covers this point?

But we already know you hate the SEC. That article is to remind you that ND used to be hated when they were good. This is just covering all the bases.

Listen, I get your point. But unless you put your thoughts into an alphabetical format, I just can't care.

What if it was an acrostic?

e: @Lonestar I thought I'd established a pretty good track record of Notre Dame hating (especially during the Brady Maxwell era). It's really annoying that Brian Kelly sacrificed Declan Sullivan to the Blood God and now we have to hear about what a genius he is. (We all know this is just Khornate magicks.) Shockingly this wasn't really covered in the alphabet soup but ONLY OLD PEOPLE CARE ABOUT NOTRE DAME was.

People don't hate Notre Dame because it's Catholic. People hate Notre Dame because it's a Sunday morning Catholic, wearing the label and acting self-righteous but being the same boorish institution as any other.

And, really, the gold flecked helmets have always bothered me. Catholicism, to me, is about social justice and lack of ostentation. For Bon Secours hospitals to be straggling along across this country, while good old Notre Dame buys gold to occasionally fleck on its helmets is shitastic.

Sidenote: Nuns are awesome.

I thought the gold was from their stupid dome.

As a person who volunteered at a Catholic Worker shelter while Cardinal Mahoney was building the 250 million dollar eyesore that is the COLA, I'd say that's a mentality that permeates the Church at all levels. (Though your True Scotsman Catholicism is certainly more ideal.)

It's a really strange contradiction between that's emblematic of most religions I'd say. Or at least monotheistic religions.

Doesn't help that its a massive, multinational institution with lots of assets and the ability to flout national laws, either.

Really the only win for America in this year's national championship is the remote possibility for new iterations of those Goofus and Gallant cartoons they do for Georgia football.

To be fair, the Media dick-sucking of Alabama is counterbalanced by the verbal masturbation of the Georgia players.
We all know a bj is better than a handjob. Regardless, I prefer them talking up Bama than talking us up. I'd rather UGA be an underdog these days.

I think some B1G fans need to take Rutgers guy under their wing and maybe explain some of the rules of college football. Like medical redshirts, they are the same thing as a regular redshirt except they can be used if the athlete has played that season. You don't get a medical redshirt if you've already redshirted normally.

6th year of eligibility is something totally different.

but wouldn't a true scotsman be presbyterian?

I know the meme

I forgot about the Lizzy Seeberg story, ESPN OTL did a piece on it last year, before this season. Interesting if they would run it now. Just a real sad story. I would have so much hate if I was the dad. I won't say what I'd do (or want to do).

Does anyone remember this article about Tommy Rees getting pepper sprayed back in May?

Nope. Because Evilore, obvious ND fanboy, banned The Daily Mail

Congrats, Cyan. If I were to rank everyone on CFB-GAF in terms of modworthiness, I'd rank you number 1, but could always be swayed against you at the last minute by one of the Texas fans

On another note, your name is gonna confused the shit out of colorblind-GAF
