Echoing that.As one of several people who spent half of yesterday wrestling with pre-built computers instead of doing QLs on them, please let me urge you not to buy a pre-built computer.
The potential for problems to crop up is always there, even with pre-built PCs.Didn't Jeff and Ryan both have problems with a custom built pc when they first got it?
May I direct you to our resident experts:okay
But I need to find a case that's similarly low key for the living room.

Cannot wait to play Farcry 3. Hunting seems to become quite popular in games ever since RDR and I'm okay with that.
Jeff, without playing any of L.A. Noire, called it a "glorified NCIS game with prettier graphics".
He at least played some of Red Dead Redemption before shutting down on that game. I had forgotten how bad and frustrating the GOTY discussion was.
Brad: "Rayman was running to the right and jumping. It's basically Bubsy."
So angry.
And Vinny plays the part of the guy with the baseball tickets who wants to leave by saying "I think Demon Souls is better than any game on this list, but let's cut it".
To be fair, LA Noire wasn't really that good. It was like pixel hunting in 3d, the overworld was absolutely useless besides travel and the game puts two and two together for you rather than letting you do it. Also tacked on shooting.
Brad: "Rayman was running to the right and jumping. It's basically Bubsy."
But he was right about LA Noir.
The worst part about LA Noir is the vaunted interrogation system was entirely pointless. You were presented with suspects X, Y, and Z. After carefully interrogating them you were compelled to choose one of them to charge with a crime. And ultimately it turns out that a previously unknown fourth party was the real perp. You were wrong no matter who you chose. Pointless and dumb.
Yep, that's a story design problem which is a big deal when your game revolves around story. And then the player is punished for not fingering the right suspect when you can't actually get the right suspect for some arbitrary reason. LA Noire fails a pretty much everything it set out to do besides its fancy face-tech.

If I remember correctly, the game's story hints heavily at the fact that the police chief knew about the real suspect, but pressured you into accusing someone that was a convenient scapegoat.
uggggh sadly waiting to hear back on a tax issue before I can commit, but any day now. I'm going to publish the specs today or tomorrow to get feedback.
Was it actually brought to the foreground in the game or just stayed in the background? Maybe it was setup for a sequel that will never come.
It was never explicitly mentioned, but there's a specific scene (police chief on the phone when Cole comes in) that lends a bit of credence to this idea. But unfortunately I can't find it on the quick, so I'm not sure if this idea stands the test of time.
So Far Cry 3 is first person Assassin's Creed Brotherhood in modern times.
I'm so down for that.

So '10's GOTY podcast was fine, but a bit boring because the inevitable was so obvious, but I'm half way through '11 and it is striking how less fun and interesting that discussion really was.
To start, they began with way too many games. In all the other ones, they had a smaller set to go through, and as a result, they talked lovingly about pretty much every game. The first half of this is just them going round and round taking turns vetoing games. And, it doesn't help that a lot of the games they are discussing are... well, when you are pushing Catherine or Renegade Ops or Dead Island, it is hard to be interested. And, I think that more than the previous years, there were a lot of "I liked this game" as the basic and sole argument. Maybe it was the games, or the fact that there was an extra person on the bombcast, but the nitty gritty wasn't there, especially compared to the '08 and '09 podcasts. Still 2 hours to go...
Hmm, I still haven't played Brotherhood (SOON) but it does share a lot of the better elements of the AC series, yeah. Man, it's fun.
Not really related, but I'm interested: How did you land on ME3? Are you playing with extended cut DLC or are you going to see the regular ending? And how did the savegame situation resolve?
lol that was great, Brad's shirt and Drew's outfit really topped it off.
Alternate Title-
Also, a major strike against Bayonetta was that it wasn't good on the PS3 (Brad even raised this when discussing Bayonetta as a multiplatform title of the year). Yet, Skyrim. And Patrick readily admits that the argument he used against Mortal Kombat could be used against Skyrim.
And, it was so angry. Why was this GOTY bombcast so angry?
"Saints Row goes to 11 the whole time. It is designed to give you a gameboner". - who said this? guess!
[I am now at the beginning of the skyrim vs saints row discussion. Brad and Jeff seemed the angriest.
Good catch. He's not using the dark theme though, what a noob!Brad was browsing gaf.
