Wii-U - Amazon listing UK prices and launch date

The GAME I went to pretty much sold out last night. Lots of walk ins without preorders, which kinda cleared them out.
There was also a big sign saying 'PREORDER NOW, ONLY CHANCE TO GET THE WII U IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!"
I'm somewhat inclined to believe that, actually. Stocks seem low.

My Sainsburys Entertainment order was delivered about an hour ago. I've been downloading an update ever since :-\
Initial thoughts:
The console is BIGGER than I thought it would be. About the same size as the Wii easily, if not a little bit bigger. From the quick start guide, it appears that you only get the little plastic stand to place it on it's side if you have a premium pack.
It uses the same sensor bar as the Wii - from the instructions, it appeared that unless you have a premium pack, you don't even get a sensor bar!
Tablet is huge and appears to be more responsive to finger touch than the 3DS is.
I heard that the speakers on the tablet were good, but didn't expect them to be Amazing. They are not tinny sounding little things, they have a good range, and during the setup they play part of the background music, with the other part coming out of your TV speakers. Worked really well for me - very immersive!
The Pro Controller is perhaps the most comfortable controller I've ever picked up. It feels like someone moulded it to the shape of my hands. Going to enjoy playing with it

TNT usually aren't bad. The company I work for use them and we have a very high service degree with their help.
On the negative side, if you're being served from the Exeter depot, you may not see it ever again, heh.
My GAME ran out of pre-orders this week and were placing new "£20 deposit" pre-order labels on display boxes when I went in this morning, presumably for pre-orders for the next shipment.
My HMV haven't been taking pre-orders for at least 3 weeks.
Kinda useless info without shipment numbers obviously, but I think this will be a strong launch. This is the complete opposite of the last 2 launches I've experienced at retail, those being the 3DS and PS3, which were both laughable. PS3 launch I walked straight in and was the only customer to buy one 2 hours after they opened. Todays launch is a million miles from that.

If anyone else is the same, it's worth contacting their customer services to give them a nudge. Last time I got a pre-order late from them, they gave me £2.50 credit.

So, driver failed to perform the basic task of ringing a bell. Customer services say it will be delivered Monday if he cannot come back today. This was 2 minutes after he "tried" to deliver.
One tweet and a phone call later and I've been told it will be delivered tomorrow as he cannot come back today. No doubt he has more bells to not ring.

My Wii Upackage from Amazon includes Nintendo Land, Sonic Racing and Mario. Relief.
its unbelievable how many times this seems to happen from reading about it on the internet. like multiple people in this thread seem to have had it happen.
i wish there was some more civilised way of getting things delivered in the UK. like amazon lockers or delivery where they give you a precise time they are coming and text beforehand or something.
Annoying. I remember when I ordered a Japanese Mario galaxy and it was sent to work. I waited until 7.30pm as they assured me it was on its way. when I got home and tracked it, the status was tried to deliver at 8pm. This was a joke considering they say 5.30 is the cut off.
My Bro got his wii u today via city Link to the same address but mine they messed up. Poor service!!

It's a mystery how such a simple task can go so wrong? Our block of flats has a buzzer system , not only did he not buzz but due to builders working in the hallway the door was even open! He didn't even make it past the lobby.
Online shopping sites need to tell you who they will use so I can avoid Yodel, HDNL and now DPD.
That's really shocking, and not like DPD in my experience. City Link, Yodel, DHL and others in my area is rubbish, while TNT, UPS and DPD are good. It really is down to areas though and whoever is driving the delivery vans.
Well, at least I have my Vita to play while waiting for my Wii U, just don't tell Nintendo that!
MRW uses to do the same in my area. Not that I'm too bothered because they never leave the package unattended and their office is just accross the street but goddamn. They usually deliver at hours I'm not at home but some days that I actually was, they didn't even ring before marking the package in tracking as "nobody's home, didn't pick up phone (¿¿¿???)"
City Link said mine just wasn't sent for some reason. Sitting at the depot and wasn't put on the truck. No explanation to how this happened though.

For me Yodel/HDNL have been the worst as they out right lie about delivery attempts. Never used DPD before but seen their vans in the City. Didn't help that this was obviously an agency driver as his van was unbranded.
Drawing up an invoice for wasted time (took a day off work) now and will send to DPD, might at least get some kind of explanation.
This is why I hate City Link.
I hope you at least get your delivery sorted!
Anyway, the Yodel site now says my delivery is still "Out for delivery" in the tracking, but the status has went back to Current status: At service centre.
Don't do this to me HDNL/Yodel!

I had something sent out last week by Amazon via Yodel, it went from Out for Delivery and then changed to Delivered but showing as delivered to their depot. Then it magically disappeared and all they could tell me was that it was lost. The best part of it was that they did actually deliver 1 parcel that same day, they just didn't hand over the other one - what's the point in being able to so specifically track a parcel when they can just somehow go missing and all the information they can provide is "It's lost.".
I'm sure your WiiU will arrive!

According to UPS tracking, my AC3 is in Germany and will be with me on Monday.
Mine is listed as 12.41 to 13.41 - not arrived yet, but they still have 20 minutes!

I always get the please call thing with TNT packages, whenever I bother to ring they always say there's no problem and it should be with you before x o'clock.

Well I just called them and they told me that it's been marked down as delivery for Monday!! Really pissed right now about this, Shopto never usually do shit like this.
This update is so much fun! I do love being able to watch TV and just glance at the gamepad to check the progress.

Well that sucks, I know you can request to collect from the depot but it might be a lot of faff.
Just got Mario Bros U from shopto but still no Wii U from Amazon.

Did anyone who purchased at GAME get the warrantity? I thought the guy in the shop said I would get the Wiimote Motion Plus and Nunchuk bundle if I got it, which I why I paid the £60. Now that I got home though it's not in the bag. So now I feel a complete lemon, and I can't get in touch with the shop ( tried phoning several times) and I won't be able to go back to the shop until Sunday.
