Of course, I also think that any team that goes 10-2 should be in line for a bowl game before a 6-6 team, regardless of conference affiliation. If SJSU is left out of a bowl game, then that's going to be really disappointing.
SJSU was picked to play the Military Bowl in DC. Of course in lieu of an ACC team (They had ACC team No. 8), ACC only has 6 bowl eligible teams.

Breaking news guys, John Gruden is joining the Big 10.
It seems like you'd need a conference semi-final between each pod in a division. That would never fly.
Yup, we're talking about 8 conference games, or potentially 9, plus a semifinal and a conference championship game.

They still have it in NC? Cruddy conference alignment when 2 Florida Schools have to both travel hundreds of miles north to win the conference.
Course, as the SEC has gone West pretty far, even Atlanta is pretty out of the way for fans to travel (though Atlanta has the airport hub positive)

Remember when it was in Jacksonville or whatever? Seemed like every ACCCG was like Wake Forest/Boston College v Virginia Tech or something. Drew what...like..10,000 fans. The whole FSU v Miami thing was the entire reason to have it in FL. Can't believe that matchup hasn't happened yet after all this time.

It's only been in NC the past two (will be three now) years, the first 5 years it was in FL:
In July 2004, the ACC began deliberations about which offer to select. After several months of negotiations and discussions, the ACC made its decision. On August 19, 2004, the league announced that Jacksonville, would host the game in 2005 and 2006. The league would then have the option to re-select Jacksonville for an additional one or two-year contract. League officials said Charlotte was the first runner-up in the competition to be the host of the game.
For its first three years, the championship game was held at EverBank Field (known as Alltel Stadium in 2005 and 2006, and Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in 2007). That contract expired after the 2007 season. In December 2007, the ACC awarded the next four games to Tampa, and Charlotte. Raymond James Stadium in Tampa was location of the game in 2008 and 2009, and the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte was the location of the game in 2010 and 2011.

not that crazy it hasn't happened. Alabama Tennessee has never come close to happening. Same with UGA/AU. In fact, I don't think any of the SEC Rivalry games have ever met back up in the CCG.
True, but at least the SEC is(was) generally geographically clustered where everyone was pretty much in driving distance of Georgia. And before that the SEC used the high seed home field anyway.
ACC goes along the eastern seaboard. No sense on that one. Oh well, maybe they'll implement it in the future.

Seven of the ACC schools are within a 5 hour drive of Charlotte. It really is the most central location. The problem is that most ACC schools don't travel.

Annoyed, but I think they said Bachety was illegaly downfield (which doesn't make sense as he's a h back).
I'm just glad we're out of the Big East and won't have to deal with them ever again. Hopefully the ACC blows up and then takes the rest of the Big East teams so we can leave in 2013.
Since there's all this talk about the SECCG in Atlanta, AJC interviewed Mike Slive about that, the conferences growing more, etc. An interesting read. Says his top priority is the SEC network that's in the works.

Before Legion Field, there was no CCG (anywhere in Div. 1) they went with best record. But with 10 teams, and I want to say less than 9 game conference schedules, I imagine there were plenty of times where teams didn't meet. I know there were more than a few years with multiple claims.

That's a very original excuse, I have to say. Unfortunately, Murray appears to be squeaky clean. He's not a running back, for us, that's for sure. Though our current crop of running backs are good guys, we had some shitheads there for a few years... Thomas Brown was a good dude, and so was Moreno. Moreno partied like everybody but he never got in trouble as far as I know.

I'm somewhat surprised that Florida-LSU hasn't happened.

Yeah Gurley being as good as he is is definitely a shocker, though prior to the season I had the feeling he was going to be a big surprise. And Marshall is no slouch either, he was the more heralded back coming in and has put up almost 800 yards IIRC. I remember hearing Shawn Williams compare Gurley to Trent Richardson after one of their practices in the preseason and saying "yeah right, I've heard that before about UGA running backs in preseason." Didn't know how close he'd be with that prediction.
Jordan Jenkins has also been a nice surprise and has been having some good success when teams tend to focus on Jarvis Jones a little too much. For a true freshman, he's been outstanding. Next year I expect even more out of him.

What bowl game will South Carolina end up in this year? I hope they have a good one. A lot of fans around here.
I think Georgia will be able to run ball control, just hope they can keep the AL offense on the bench the majority of the game.

I will be pretty surprised esp they get cotton if a&m goes to cap one..... you know the cotton bowl would be salivating all over that a&m/texas matchup if it was remotely possible.
Was hoping to see Oregon play either TAMU or UF, for totally different reasons.
This is college football bowl season. Good matchups are only a result of dumb luck!

I never pay attention, honestly. We always go to either the BCS bowls or the Capital One or Chik Fil and play some team like Wisconsin or Michigan State. I'd rather play a Big 12 team for a change if we don't make the MNC.

I don't know about CU, but FSU is about to slide back to 7-6 seasons unless Jimbo makes some A+ hires after the ACC CG.

Could be, it's just that every projection I've seen has Texas in there. Seems like if Alabama loses tomorrow, it'll be Texas/Alabama. If Georgia loses, it'll be Texas/LSU, with Georgia going to the Chicscrew it PEACH BOWL, to face Clemson. Peach Bowl seems to be ACC #2, and that'll be Clemson unless GT does someting crazy.

Until the 4 super conferences happens, along with abandoning the NCAA. Then, I'd hope that the 4 conferences made a rule to never play anyone outside the 4 conferences, meaning all the little schools will no longer have those payday automatic losses anymore, resulting in bankruptcy and eventual decline to Division III standards.

Outside of Marshall, UCF and Temple as you mentioned, have there really been other defections since the conference was founded?
Slow and steady I guess. Now the conference has a good shot at a BCS game!

I don't think in recent years, no. Cincinnati was a member back in the 50s, I think.
