That is I. That is a strange comment I've now heard on GAF a couple times; I took down my old avatar because it apparently made me look aloof, according to other posters. I hope I'm at least the Patrick Bateman type of serial killer, and not the John Wayne Gacy kind.

Well Patrick Bateman from the book is the original... and I'm pretty sure you are still wrong about it in the movie. In the book

it wasn't implied at all that he didn't do it, stupid Hollywood movie twist without adding anything really, Patrick Bateman is a killer!

I thought Bateman came off as a even bigger impotent loser in the book. They show how truly lame his friends and family view him. And there is never conclusive proof that a single murder really occurred. In interviews Bret Easton Ellis says that the book would have no reason if none of the murders were real, but I disagree. It's all about alienation.

I'm not sure I know you mean about the ending being different.

In the book the final big chase scene is so clearly delusional it's like a scene from Die Hard somehow ended up in the book. And then the big reveal that the dead guy was spotted in Europe. And then you have the apartment realtor but that scene is it's own discussion.

For what it's worth I think the only chapter worth reading in the book is the first one where they show Price freaking out. Price is the most interesting character in both.
