Does the Rose Bowl sellout this season? Stanford is Stanford and Wisconsin is in for the third straight year this time as a five loss team if they hold on.

I don't know how you west coast people work things over there.

No, it probably won't. Or it will be incredibly one-sided in favor of Wisconsin. But that's Stanford's fault for having a shitty fanbase. It was pretty much 50/50 when I went to the Rose Bowl earlier this year.

Are you kidding? 7 wins is what got Chan Gailey fired. And he is 1-4 against Georgia.
There isn't a coach in the country who could coach GT and beat UGA very often. Chans problem was that he only won more than 7 games once. Paul Johnson has done it 3 times already and has won a conference championship. Therefore he has bought himself a little extra time.

He also got us in trouble with the NCAA by using in eligible players. Then had 10 off his players flunk out of school causing the admissions requirements to be tightened for future coaches. He is a decent coach but not really a good fit at GT.
Hm that's why he's such a stickler for graduating players now. But he's better now I swear! The NCAA cleared him on the latest issues (the AD was messing around) and he has one of the highest APR scores!

In belated defense of Stanford attendance...

The weather is awful and it is pretty much finals week. Undergrads are pretty hype about the team in general.

FSU is gonna find a way to lose this. Jimbo went into full on conservative mode on offense and now they're chipping away on our run D.

Last thing before I go to bed. The last pass Murray threw was a fade route to back corner of end zone. Would have either been incompletion or td. Obviously was tipped at the line and Conley's reaction is to catch it. Also, I guess Jarvis Jones had the flu. No excuse but props to him for playing hard through it. Not his best game.

Defending a block that was simultaneously targeting, helmet-to-helmet, and defenseless player? Have you watched any games this season?

Yeah can't say I disagree with that call. The Nebraska player clearly just wanted to take a shot. Could have easily taken him out without leveling the dude.

There wasn't any helmet to helmet contact. Watch that replay. You and the refs are practically the only people thinking it should have been called.

Helmet-to-helmet is questionable, but he clearly launched to hit high. That is pretty much an automatic penalty this year.

He was out to harm the defensive back. That's why he got flagged. Hit him high and hit him hard. There was no need for that hit.

Ok Nancy. Wouldn't have a problem with it if it were actually a rule to not hit someone above the waist.

The penalty is unnecessary roughness. Do you disagree that it was unnecessarily rough? He could have easily blocked him in a way that would be less likely to cause injury.

It's a rule to aim high, sweetie. I've played football. I know when a player is intentionally taking a shot on a player that can't defend themself. He could have more than easily blocked him without trying to level him. That's why he rightfully got flagged.

Probably just frustrated they're getting utterly embarrassed by a team with five losses winning their division by default on national television.

There is a difference between a block and blindsiding someone with a leveling hit.

It was a frustration cheap shot due to being down big.

So should the WR have gone midsection with the block? What's the proper way to block somebody not looking at you?

Edit: That sounded like me being a smartass but I was actually curious as to how he should block in that situation.

So i was right to turn off Nebraska game mid-second quarter?

Everyone here was so hyped about the rose bowl. Oh well.

Next year our D will hopefully rebound a bit.

Every hit is harder than it has to be.

You seem to have a problem with the Huskers with how you're diagnosing how embarrassed they are. I've hit people like that before with the only intent of making a block.

Edit: another embarrassing effort on D.
