Edit: That sounded like me being a smartass but I was actually curious as to how he should block in that situation.

From his position and the angle of the play and how he was set, a two handed shove would have sent him down to the ground. Everything else here was excessive. A shoulder hit was ok, but he clearly tried to hurt that guy.

The weather is awful and it is pretty much finals week. Undergrads are pretty hype about the team in general.

Excuses excuses. An attendance of 31,622 out of a 50,000 seat stadium during a conference championship game is pathetic, rain or shine. What excuses will Stanford fans use for not showing up at the Rose Bowl? I know it's not cheap to go but that doesn't stop fans from other teams showing their support.
