I'm from EU, more specifically Portugal. I already sent them an e-mail, let's see what will they say about it.

I don't believe its the postman fault, I know several cases of other portuguese guys who have ordered stuff from Zavvi and are still waiting for it to arrive, or for Zavvi replies even. Usually when we order stuff from other places such as ebay UK or amazon UK it takes roughly a week to arrive.

If you check Zavvi's facebook page, there's also tons of people complaining that their orders are taking very long and/or Zavvi is not replying them...

I just wanted to play my Borderlands at peace :(
 
are zavvi delivery time really got that much better as it said on the site?last time i've ordered something it took two-to-three weeks and i had to pay 1 pound of shipping cost..now it says that for italy shipping is free and takes only 3 to 5 days to arrive...anyone bought something from zavvi recently?

Yes I ordered multiple items since last week, none have arrived thus far. As a matter of fact, some items say delivery jan 2013 LOL.

On a whole they're usually good to me. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT.

Ordered Agarest of War Zero from Thehut in May, they took so long it appeared on the PS Store and had a discount to cheaper than what I was paying.

Exact same issue with Ratchet and Clank Q-Force ordered that 8th of September, and by time they dispatched it (November 23rd I think) it was already on the PS Store for £12, I realised too late to cancel but it eventually arrived today and I'm sending it back.

Thankfully they're two games I generaly wasn't too bothered when I got it, but goddamn did Zavvi/Thehut screw up getting money off me.
 
UK GAF, if you're in a Morrison's store any time it may be worth picking out a few games and asking for them to be price checked, I just picked up:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on PS3 (priced at £20, scanned at £7)
SSX on 360 (priced at £15, scanned at £5)
NBA 2K12 on PS3 (priced at £10, scanned at 98p!)

I've seen reports on HUKD that Uncharted 3 is £5 but they didn't have any stock :(

Too early. Their FAQ states that you should contact them after 30 days (outside UK) have passed. They are going to tell you to wait another week (or actually less, I don't know how many days have passed for your order). I know it sucks, but if you order from ebay.com and complain after 14 days or so because you haven't received your order yet, they will also tell you to wait.

You know that Zavvi is not in UK nor EU? If you want to compare them, compare them to play.com or yesasia or ebay.com. Orders from amazon.co.uk will of course be faster, because they don't have to pass customs. Although for me amazon.co.uk is most of the time not that fast. Which is especially frustrating, because I'm forced to pay premium shipping fees. Last orders took 9 days and 4 days.

If they complain too early, what is Zavvi supposed to do? Send another one, although the original order may show up and most customers would just keep their original copy.

Anyway I always got a reply when I wrote them via customer account. Sometimes it took a few days, but they never ignored me.

since mid 2012, my orders took this long:
8 days, 7 days, 16 days, 29 days, 4 days, 9 days, 10 days, 9 days, 7 days, not received - 2nd package took 5 days, 7 days, 7 days, 7 days, 13 days. I really can't complain. Compared to anyone else outside EU (yesasia.com, play.com, ebay.com) they are really fast with a few exceptions, but I guess that's just bad luck.

My last ebay.com orders took - 27 days, 24 days, 17 days, 30 days, 16 days, 7 days, which is especially awful, because I paid lots of money for shipping.

And one of the items (Predators Trilogy on Blu) from yesterday was already sent out even including a tracking number although I didn't pay anything for shipping. They probably did this because of the lost Jurassic Park order. EDIT: Dark Souls PtD edition was also just sent out.

Anyone got this game and has experience with it? I'm really interested, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Yes, they say that in the FAQ. But they also say in the e-mail that is sent everytime you purchase anything to wait for 20 working days before inquiring. That deadline is at the end of this week, and I stated that in the e-mail i've sent them.

20 working days are 1 month. Which means around 30 normal days. Their FAQ states 30 normal days, their e-mail stated 20 working days. It doesn't do that anymore.

That's when you should write them. They can't and won't do anything until that time has passed. And sending them an e-mail before that just wastes time. They will need to know, if you received the item till then. It may still show up. One of my orders took 29 days.

I worded it badly. They ship from Channel Islands. Just like HMV or play.com and others. Which are outside EU. That's why they can offer those cheap prices. And that's why it takes longer. Higher priced items are routed from Channel Islands to within Europe and then sent to the customer. Which is a nice service, because you won't have to pay custom fees. That's also why day 1 games normally take shorter to arrive. Really cheap games are sent directly from Channel Islands, which makes them take way longer.

EDIT: Today, Zavvi sent out the last item of my order (Batman 10/10). So everything got sent out within 2 days. Not bad, not bad.

I think I might've asked this before but can't recall the answer. Where's the best place (in terms of minimum hassle and avoiding or prepaying VAT if possible) to buy Japanese import games if you're in the UK?

eBay + asking the seller to write down the value on the package OR sending it as a gift
 
Has anyone ever not received a game from Amazon posted second class? Is there a way for them to send another one or give refund?

I still haven't received that Black Friday Hitman lol.

They have already replied me, I believe the issue is going to be solved soon. I usually don't have anything against them, don't get me wrong. I used zavvi several times in the past and never had much problems. When they changed their mailing "scheme", that's when I and some friends/acquaintances started to have problems with their deliveries.

Sorry thread hijacking: Has anyone preordered Darksiders 2 Wii U from Zavvi/Hut? Still waiting for my to be shipped. Last update on the homepage says February.

YesAsia routed into Europe some time ago, which meant no custom fees. I don't know, if they still do that. Just marking it as "gift" won't help most of the time, customs are not stupid. I don't have any experience with PlayAsia. At least in my case they always require a written invoice in the package. If it's missing, I need to print out the actual invoice or give them my credit card invoice. Sometimes they even complained that the included invoice was Chinese/Japanese lol.

Another way would be to find someone in Japan (GAF?) and ask them, if they could unwrap the order and then send it privately.
 
Does anyone know if Garry's Mod can be purchased for a slightly lower price than £6? I don't mind paying £6, it's just I want to make sure I can't get it cheaper somewhere else first.
