Ah, I didn't know we knew the amount of pre-orders. Great!

We don't. We know projections based on a Japanese site that tracks Amazon Japan ranking and predicts pre-order numbers based on a certain formula. Actual sales will not be known for sure until the first volume is released.

When is it being released?

Edit: Ah, January 30. That'll teach me not to read the OP!

I'm so out of loop with anime. One season is 13 episodes, right? So I assume Battle Tendency will be a total of 17 episodes? Just looking at the number of volumes that should be an easy task. An eventual part 3 would need 2 seasons at least though.

JoJo - Ep. 9

Super stoked for BT. Still hoping they dedicate another 26 episodes for Stardust Crusaders (at least, I think it's the same ratio to 1 & 2).

Watched the 1st two episodes of this series.
So this is just from a shonen battle anime with blood & gore?

Magical power from out of nowhere & never get explain or even looked at for the rest of the series & the characters go on to find pokemon like adventure battling throughout until they reach the end boss?
Or is there more substance to it?

How long is the manga, seems like this doesn't have enough material to last for too long?

It has more than 100 volumes.

It's just fighting with special martial arts abilities.

Um, it's over 100 volumes. To compare, One Piece has nearly 70 volumes with an anime over 570 episodes.

However, this current anime adaptation will only be the first 2 parts spread over 26ish episodes.

Looks like the new OP won't be featured this week just yet. The official twitter reports that the same studio (Kamikaze Douga) is working on the new OP animation as well, so it should be similar looking. The new OP will appear starting on ep11, because ep10 has no OP.

Aww, and since they didn't mention anything I'm guessing no new ED either, right? Not really complaining though since Roundabout is awesome.

Unrelated, but I just had to share...this.

Oh no new ending, then we can continue to enjoy the song anymore, really my favorite part of p1.

Also I guess my expectations were out of line for what the anime is about at least for part 1, hope this next part is good. Everytime I randomly browse fanart seems there are good designs still yet to come so Im excited.

Looks like the first episode is going to cover quite a bit,
Caesar and the Straits fight? Nice!
*actual Spoilers*

It's not for the first episode. It's a special trailer for Part 2, so like the trailer for Part 1, it probably covers up to the first 3 episodes of the arc.

I'm not that privy on how Anime Voice Acting is handled, but does anyone know if Tomokazu Sugita voicing Joseph is the reason the last six-episodes of Gintama have all been repeats, despite a new season recently starting?

It's pretty unfortunate. :/ I was looking forward to NEW back-to-back Sugita in Gintama and JoJo.

Glorious.

2 and 5 are probably my favorite parts so I'm really looking forward to this. They have the best fights and pacing imo.

I was wondering if that was the reason too, but I have no idea if it works like that either.

I am very ok with both the music and the preview. Can't wait to hear more of Sugita Joestar.

I don't see how anything can top pt1. But we'll see what happens!

Your hype is making my hype hype up!

Consider this, whenever a fan ranks the story arcs, Phantom Blood is almost always near the bottom :P

The reason why Gintama has been on repeats is because the entire Gintama season is a new stuff + repeats season in general. They never intended to produce enough episodes for a full new season. It was announced beforehand as a rerun season with "some new stuff". The voice cast has nothing to do with it at all. Voice talent tend to work on many shows at the same time, especially the more prolific ones or the flavors of the month.

I wouldn't want to change a single thing about how JoJo is being made now, but I would love to maybe see an OVA where they use the animation style of the OP for the whole thing. I just love it.
