Yes he is. At first I just thought it was fanservice, but watching it a 2nd time clearly shows that he's Robin. Blake is Nolan's way of including Robin without having some kid hang around Bruce, don a costume, and fight alongside Batman. Revealing him at the end made it easier to achieve this, and made for a great surprise during a first watch.

I watched closely in that scene, i don't know if they ALL had guns, but at least the majority in the front visibly had hand guns, probably all had their standard issued weapons on them.

For me it is the most re-watchable of the three. Enjoy your second and third viewing sir.

I think it's safe to say (And I'm not being vain here) that I am EASILY miles and away the best poster in all of these threads. Like, it's not even close. Sometimes I wonder why you guys even bother.

Yep it makes even more sense when you think about how Blake was an orphan and his skills to deduce that Bruce=Batman the one time he came to his orphanage place.

Absolutely. It's cool being a fan, it doesn't mean you have to be blinded and unable to see the bullshit. Doesn't mean you can't like it either.
 
I don't really see the point in constantly writing on a forum all the inconsistencies in a movie, if you ultimately still enjoyed said movie.

I love TDKR, and therefore I don't find much amusement or enjoyment in tearing it apart. :/

Christopher Nolan didn't direct The Dark Knight Rises.

An overworked, spiritually and creatively exhausted Nolan knew he couldn't meet the challenge of another large scale production. He needed rest, there wasn't any gas in the tank. But there wasn't any time either.

He'd already signed on to write and direct, an obligation he owed to Warner Bros who unsurprisingly valued quick money over a solid product. They were pushing for an immediate ramp up to production of their next mega blockbuster.

Christopher knew the executives wouldn't be willing to postpone the next Batman film for the director to regain his breath and would push him into hastily made and ultimately poor product.

To avoid this he agreed to the use of his name being placed on the project while the actual film making process was handled by a trusted crew he'd worked previously with.

It's the only explanation.

I'd say it's more a product of exactly what he said in the IndieWire interview I posted yesterday - that being he had a much more involved role in writing the script on TDKR than the other two films since his brother wasn't available.

It certainly explains why Inception and TDKR are among his more disappointing films.

What? Inception was phenomenal.
How can you criticize his writing when he wrote Memento? You don't like Memento? Also, I'm sure he wrote a majority of Batman Begins as well considering David Goyer is a moron and his brother doesn't have writing credit. You don't like Batman Begins too?

The IMAX format is 1.44:1, right? That's the aspect ratio of the image in all IMAX scenes in TDK and DKR. When viewed at home on a 16:9 conventional widescreen set, and on the Bluray, the IMAX scenes pop out of the 1.85:1 (or is it 2:39:1?) that the standard portions of the films are shot at, and take up the whole screen, at 16:9. But that's not the whole image, is it? 16:9 is wider than IMAX, so you lose a bit off the top and bottom, right?

Basically, what I'm getting at is, are the original IMAX shots basically lost, and unavailable for home viewing? Kind of sucks.

Saw this for the first time tonight. Half an hour too long, but simply a phenomenal film. I don't really think any of the trilogy is very re-watchable, but that isn't a factor for me.

The biggest pro for me was the acting. Top notch. Biggest negative was having Sean Connery do Bane's voiceover work. =)

You are correct. The blu-ray IMAX scenes are still cropped down from what was shown on actual IMAX screens.

And therefore...that original IMAX image is lost forever as far as home exhibition goes? :(

I'd honestly rather it fit onto my screen with black bars on the side. I like the idea of seeing the full original image. The option at least, would be nice.

I agree... but there's a point where people are shitting on the film based on slow motion .gifs of the fight scenes that it goes a bit too far imo.

The film has its issues, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. If Begins and Dark Knight are 9/10s, DKR is 8/10, no lower.
 
I saw this last night. Man, what a disappointment. Easily the worst of the three. Why was Batman only in the movie for like 15 minutes?
