No, but there would be no reason to announce it in 2012 otherwise.
You should tell that to Sony and SE. Announcing games one year before release I mean

Yeah, I still think the Skyrim connections people are seeing are exceedingly shallow. This trailer was so distinctively 'Souls' that I recognised it within the first 5 seconds. You'd have to have only put 20 minutes into each IP if you thought otherwise.
Exactly, Dragon Age 3 maybe but Skyrim? LOLYeah, I still think the Skyrim connections people are seeing are exceedingly shallow.
Why have they called it Dark Souls II? Devil Souls or Death Souls or something to keep it in a tastefully named trilogy...
One thing I really, absolutely want:
Bring back Black Phantom normal enemies and Dark World tendency. I have hundred of hours in Dark Souls, but I've only seen BPs a handful of times, and never in my own game. The Gravelord covenant is a neat idea, but it simply never worked well and leaving such a cool as feature behind something that is rare, even if it did work is annoying.
Bring back the Demon's Souls setup. Die more in 'body' form -> World gets darker -> Enemies get stronger / your Health gets less -> Black Phantoms eventually replace normal enemies. Failure is suppose to suck, dammit.
That could be Anor Londo in the future.
a new hero, a new storyline, and an unfamiliar world

I'm pretty sure Dark Souls II is a completely unrelated to Dark Souls I.
I really don't think that follows from simply being "an unfamiliar world". It could be 1000 years before Dark Souls, or 1000 years later.I'm pretty sure Dark Souls II is a completely unrelated to Dark Souls I.
I actually think it should be the other way around, the more you die the easier the enemies are but buffs/hp gets lower and the loot becomes worse.
Then you do not punish noobs/unskilled as much and give the better players a greater not a easier challange.
And with great challanges come better loot.
Dark Souls II?
I was expecting Devil's Souls.
I was hoping for Deplorable, Despicable, Dastardly, Deranged, Depressed, Drunken, Deflated or Dirty Souls.
Pretty Disappointing.

Damn, that's a hard choice.GAF - PC or PS3 version?

GAF - PC or PS3 version?
So, who's this Tomohiro Shibuya guy? Has he always been at From Software? I google'ed his name and I found a developer from Capcom with the same name, but I doubt it's the same guy, right? I KNOW I'm in the minority here, but I'm actually disappointed that we're still not seeing any sign of King's Field returning. I'm an old school From fan and I love Demon's/Dark Souls as much as the next guy, but I think the series that MADE these games what they are needs a proper/true resurrection. Honestly, I can't seem to get too excited about this one.

PC version obviouslyI'll wait for someone else to post the pretty pictures of the PC version so you can decide for yourself.
Nobody who has played the PC version on a decent PC would go against it.GAF - PC or PS3 version?
Wanting to play Blighttown at 60fps over 15fps makes you a graphics whore now? That's provided you're a graphics whore. PS3 version will have a longer life due to it's community and least hacked.
GAF - PC or PS3 version?
Assumption. Besides you don't need to be a graphic whore to appreciate the benefits of the PC version.least hacked.

No, it's not if you have even a barely decent PC.

That's *so true* if you haven't the slightest clue of what you are talking about. That's provided you're a graphics whore.

Or you just want the game to perform better.
15fps blighttown or 60fps blight town. Your choice

15fps blighttown or 60fps blight town. Your choice
Or you just want a larger community to play with. Or you just want less hacking in your PvP.
More to the game than just framerate and resolution.
Oh well, I don't. Or at least I don't care.Or you just want a larger community to play with.
Where have you got that the PC version is full of hacks ? The larger community is a fair argument however.
Then you're missing out on an awesome level, and Blighttown isn't the only place with frame issues.Third choice:
Master Key and skip majority of it.
