After continually lauding himself as a journalist, it wouldn't surprise me if Arthur Geese ended up going to Bioware. His hard-on for anything mass effect completely nullifies his review of the game and he has no business recommending it to anybody.

Looking forward to Brads opinion of the ending. I just finished it today myself. I dont know how much Was changed in the extended cut, but this certainly wasnt as horrible as people had led mé to believe.
A great ending? Not at all, but aldo not something leading mé to any form of grief.

What did he think of DA2?

It isn't even debatable that that game sucked so it's a pretty good shill test

I prefer Geese Howard over Arthur Gies any day of the week. You can quote me on that.

DA2 was not a bad so much as an unpolished one. also the 3 act pretty bad. great combat and some of the best bioware characters(these are my opinions no gies, btw)

At some point we're going to stop being surprised at Arthur Gies being dumb about every single thing.
Apologies, didn't realise I was getting baited by someone 'known' around these parts for his attitude/opinions. I just saw Brad's twitter replies to him and recognised the name from Bombcast mentions in the past.

no need to apologize, dude. wasn't criticizing you for posting it

Reminder that Arthur Gies and the entirety of a Polygon post-mortem podcast decided that there was not a single plot hole in Mass Effect 3 and its ending.

you are joking right? even a 5th grader could point out the inconsistances.

the biggest one being
how the star child says organics and synthis can co-exist. even thought you can get joker and edi together and unite the quarian and geth

not to mention disregarding what happen in the arrvial DLC

it's pretty common for gies to smear groups of people who he disagrees with. i haven't forgotten his vanquish comments where he didn't like the game so concocted a conspiracy where its reviews were only good because biased platinum/clover studios fanboys were desperate to give it high scores to boost their favourite studio and demanded only they review it.

One reason why I don't like the weird "give it to Platinum" meme that's sprung up lately- it gives credence to wackjob theories like this.

Arthur Gies seems like an unpopular new addition to Giantbomb according to this thread! Didn't know he joined the site, but he must have considering how much people are talking about him in a Giantbomb thread.

Based on twitter, I think Bradley has a decent sense of the original state of the game and its WTFness, even if his experience using the DLC may have 'smoothed' over certain things.

Looking forward to Bombcast/GOTY discussions...

I agree, DA2 wasn't a bad game but a really unpolished game and it had some big issues, I still would recommend for people to play it.

ME3 I still don't have any problems with the ending after playing it again, Could they have done a better job with the ending? absolutely but I do think the hate for the ending is overblown to a large degree.

One thing I'll say is, I've spent more of the last 18 hours researching everything to do with the ME3 ending than any person should.

That's not an inconsistency so much as a difference of perspective where one side is showing a dogged adherence to its dogma, which I don't find implausible from a being such as that.

The first couple days after a lot of people finished the game I'd wager a lot of us spent way more time thinking about and forum-ing about the game ending than was probably healthy.

Think about the construction of the ending choices in light of the themes explored during the entire game up to that point.

Furthermore, think about how Commander Shepard would react when faced with this being telling him something that directly contradicts his experience in uniting the geth and quarians and playing matchmaker with Joker and EDI and how the game gives you no way to refute the Starchild.

yea . but the inabiltiy to refute the arguement is what was a problem for me. it was stated as a absolute fact that I had to accept.
