All the time. Most recently two days ago when I saw Tangled for the first time and absolutely loved it. Doesn't have anything to do with the price of tea in China though, nor does it change my feelings on this trailer.

You only saw Tangled two days ago? Whaaaaa

I still think the movie will be pretty damn good, but the trailer falls flat in parts where it shouldn't. Ending it on 'What do you think?' doesn't have nearly the impact the people behind it think it does.

Pretty much.

Honestly, I would ahve rather seen a Snyder Superman film untouched by the hands of Nolan. I do like some of Snyder's stuff and I think he can be very true to the character when he wants to.
By which you mean not even create his own storyboards and just recreate everything scene-by-scene.

We already have the Donner Superman. I can understand not wanting to remake a movie in that style for modern audiences. I like the idea that Clark is completely overwhelmed by his responsibilities to the world, sits alone in a dark room shutting everything out. I like that his Dad wants him to hide his abilities. I like that this appears to be a traditional hero's journey, very much in the style of the first movie. I don't mind that they are trying something different. Bring it on, I say. Looking forward to it. The effects still look weak/early, though, and I don't think Zimmer's original music for the movie is in this trailer at all. Hope they release some samples soon.

The hate reminds me of the first shots of Batman Begins. Especially when the Tumbler made its debut.

Pretty sure fanboys were jumping off bridges without their grappling gun.

Kinda has a vibe of assuming we already care so fucking much about Superman, when I'm pretty sure the opposite is true.

If this movie can make me give a shit about this character again, that'd be nice, but I can't tell if it will or not from this trailer at all.

Looks awesome. I was really hoping they would of showed the comic con trailer with Hans Zimmers score from The Thin Red Line. I thought it was way more powerful. Can't wait!!

Only thing that is worrying to me.....kid actors....cringe.

I really liked it a lot... except for ONE thing.

Jonathan Kent would never ever EVER advocate the loss of life. He's committed to protecting his son, yes, but at the cost of innocent life? No, sir, not buying it. He's Superman without powers - that's the guy he is. So his line about having Clark just let people die to preserve the secret is unbelievably wrong.

That being said, I liked just about everything else. I'm hoping the solemn nature of the trailer is meant to show the darkness that Clark has to step out of to become Superman. Because that's actually fairly consistent with the character. He's kind of a mess until he figures out how to use his powers to help people in public.

He's not saying he should have let the kids die. He's just conflicted. He wants Clark to be this great man but he is terrified about what that really mans not just for Clark and them but for the entire world.

do you people even enjoy movies anymore?

jesus

this is only a trailer it is just about two minutes long I have not seen any movies that are made this way with all the dialogue and voice over and stuff apart from tree of life. i still enjoy movies but i did not enjoy this trailer

i know superman hasn't had an origin story in a long time. I'm speaking more generally, I'm a little fatigued with origin stories where we get a fraction of the action just to set up another 8 movies. especially for characters that are pretty well known.

pretty much my beef with Amazing Spiderman.

I don't have much faith in Snyder to deliver a good film, but we'll see. I don't like the tone, but I think there's still potential. It all depends on the script and how strong it is emotionally if they want to do this sort of Superman story.

After the last Donner films and Superman Returns, I'm done with what Hollywood considers "light-hearted" Superman.

That's what I'm hoping. It's hard to tell if that's the case in the trailer.

action sucks. if it tells the origin story well and with its own spin then who cares? it succeeds as a film.

i'm so tired of blockbusters that lead up to 40+ minute long CGI wankfests to substitute for their lack of plot/character development. *cough* Avengers *cough*

ugh that movie was godawful.

Nope.

I'll see this, but more like a week two viewing than a day one viewing.

So far everything I've seen has lead me to believe this was a straight to video production.

Now, that trailer was pretty cool.

looks too serious and boring...superman vs us army? pucker off nolan and your realistic heroes....they should just follow the avenger movie template.

the new supes actor looks too bone-y and lacks manly charisma imo.

so who is the real villain for this?

Pretty much.

What "hands of Nolan"? All Nolan did was hire Snyder, and has said often that it's Snyder's movie and not his.

I have to admit I'm finding it pretty hilarious how many posters are praising the trailer for hinting at a film that explores a more emotional look at Superman instead of a film with just action scenes.

2006 called.

Looked ok, trailer was a bit overly moody (no doubt due to the Lisa Gerrard music), but I like the direction they're taking for the film.

Yes but that movie still sucked. This already looks a million times better.

Superman Returns is terrible. It's obvious what they were going for, and that could've been an interesting movie, but Singer just completely missed the mark.
