Man, this year's podcasts are going to be....strange? I can't recall going into the process without any clear favorites like this year.
Tell us how you really feel.
But seriously, at this point I disagree with you because, as I've said, I quite like the characters. I'll admit to having issues with the combat, but I'm slowly getting over things.
On a scale of "meh" to "very", how dumb would it be to listen to the GOTY podcast not having played ME3? I really want to but haven't had the time for a game like that, but I also know of a few minorly spoilery things, ie when the game came out Jeff tweeted that, plus everyone being butthurt about the ending or whatever. I don't want the entire game to be spoiled for me but wouldn't mind a few things as the game has already been out and talked about, and I always enjoy the GOTY podcasts.his Shepard died, which isn't really that spoilery considering you could die at the end of 2

I don't know how you can like these characters when they're non-characters. They're so dull. I don't get it!

Walking Dead certainly, but Jeff has been lukewarm on that game for months. I could see a scenario where that's a reluctant winner.
Also, most of the crew had technical issues with X-COM, I could see that playing into discussions.

My comment was more in line with the last two years worth of awards. Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim/Saint's Row 3 were clear, clear favorites going into the process.
Don't forget the Walking Dead had the save bug too though that hit at least one of them.
You mean how they're all subjective except for mine?
Nevermind the GOTY, you might want to watch out for this week's podcast. Sounds like there's going to be about an hour of complete and total spoilers for ME3.
As for GOTY, yes, you're going to get ME3 spoilers. Deep ones, probably.
We still haven't heard what Jeff thinks about TWD after playing it. Maybe it will win him over.
I could see the other four guys all voting for it and Jeff going for XCOM, which means TWD wins.
For sure. What I'm saying is, as someone who hasn't played ME3 but wants to, is aware of some of the controversy/disappointment with the game in genereal, and loves the Bombcast and GOTY discussion in general, is it worth it to skip out on two podcasts or just listen and have a few things spoiled before I play the game?

The real question is, which one of them will choose to vote for a game they haven't played because it sounds more "legitimate" than the game they enjoyed most.
If they dismiss X-COM for the bugs I'm going to be so sad. Skyrim is fucking bug central, and (anecdotal, I know) I never had a problem with X-Com in 40 hrs of play. (PC version)

Also, when Jeff busts out the big guns. "Want me to another one out there? Dark Souls. I don't think bad games should be on this list."
They dropped mk9 last year from the top 10 purely because of online bugs. I thought it was lame because NRS had fixed the issues by that time and that online play wasn't the big aspect of the game (it was the story mode, challenge tower and good gameplay mechanics). I was shocked, I thought it'd be in their top 5 for sure.If they dismiss X-COM for the bugs I'm going to be so sad. Oh, I love the series, even if I haven't finished a game in it yet. I think the comment is just one of those fun 'aw snap' moments. This sounded bogus the first time I heard it, but since then I've had a friend try to play that game, and spent like 2 hours trying to beat one knight at the beginning of some forest, admitting defeat when he took an alternate route and got molested by some trees. He sold the game a few days later.
Even he refused to call it a bad game.
ME3 will win GOTY from the way they will cut down the other games. Calling it.

I had a friend try it out too and he got kind of addicted. Never beat it but got further then me (I think).

The problem is that I know Jeff means it. Another problem is that I actually have no idea if he's ever played it.
The "asshole contrarian" is one of my least favourite Jeff Gerstmann skits, to put it one way.Let's hope it's mostly absent from the GOTYcasts, but I already fear he's got something lined up for The Walking Dead.
So wha is the brad fills surer this year . Hopefully assura's wrath for GOTY

Best DLC is going to get HEATED
Brad (Leviathan) vs. Vinny (Asura's Wrath)
if they're going to get serious about technical issues, this would be a good year to do it. TWD, AC3, and Hotline Miami all have widespread, significant issues.
I want an Anime Editor's Award for Best Anime. Toss-up between Asura's Wrath, Persona 4 Arena and Virtue's Last Reward.

Jeff hated AC3 so much he can't even finish it. That game
