Hmm, not keen on the mood they show. Hate the LOTR-style music, the stupid narration, the depressing vibe. I like Cavill but this is not how I envision a Superman film would be.

I hear what your saying, but I think the world needs to be dark and depressing so Superman can light the way to a better tomorrow

Already done this and watched it a few times with friends.

Looks absolutely amazing.

Chills every time.

This one and the announcement trailer are some of the most emotion-invoking trailers I've ever seen. I still get a tear to well up in my left eye when watching the original trailer for this film. The one that ends in him in vertical flight, breaking the sound barrier.

So good.

Sober superhero films are BEST superhero films.

Do we need another gritty and depressing superhero movie? I really hate Hollywood trying so hard to pander to men-children who want realism on their FREAKING SUPERHERO movies.

These are supposed to be fun pop corn flicks, not Lawrence of Arabia wannabes. Ugh.

lol, this thread grew a lot since I last checked.

Adobe Audition, effects, center channel extractor.

Thanks. I really have no experience doing this kind of thing. :P Anyway, the music actually used has grown so much on me that I don't think it needs Journey to the Line after all.

jett has gone full Veidt. You never go full Veidt.

:lol Is he still around? I remember he opened his own forum for a while...or was that someone else?

...wat

Lawrence of Arabia is the opposite of gritty and depressing. It's the very definition of a rousing, opulent and majestic epic.

I really don't like the tone they're going for here. It looks bleak and grim, trying so hard to be more "realistic", but this is fucking Superman. I feel this is part of what really made Superman Returns suffer too - trying too hard to try and make sense of how Superman could fit into the world today. I don't think they need to do that. Just make a big fun colorful movie about an invincible alien who comes to Earth, grows up, and does things we cannot do, making the world a safer place.

Totally disagree! The best Superman stories are the ones that focus less on the Super parts and more on the actual Man.

It's going to be the Amazing Spider-man of 2013.

Hopefully not. I doubt it can be like ASM, everything looks to me like more effort has been put into it. They know they can't fuck it up. Superman's movie image is already damaged enough. They can't risk making a crappy movie no one will want to watch. They need WOM.

I'm liking the trailer a bit more.

He still pops up every once and a while proclaiming that Upcoming Blockbuster Y will be the greatest film in history.....until Upcoming Blockbuster Z releases.

Yep, he has a forum.

I disagree with all of that.

This is some of the most heroic music I've heard in a movie. And unlike Elfman's work, the entire scores in BB and TDK are quality, and they establish the atmosphere and tone of the movies perfectly. I really don't understand where you are trying to get at. And the two note music is the Batman sound anyway, which is what I was really saying. When the TDK trailer dropped and that music started playing, it was undeniably Batman.

I honestly can't explain it. I feel like Zimmer's score even though it's great it could be used in any other action film and nobody would bat an eye. (Except for some tracks in Batman Begins which I think really feel like Batman and are wonderful)

The way Elfman's score slowly rises I imagine Batman slowly coming out of a dark alleyway, sneaking around or watching the streets below and so on. It just 'feels' like the character. The only reason I associate Zimmer's score with Batman is because the movies were really good and hugely successful.

I think because Batman is brooding, introspective, thoughtful world's greatest detective etc. the score should be a slow, dark, careful build up. With Zimmer it's DUN DUN in your FUCKING face BITCH gonna PUNCH you while i ROLL UP ON MY MOTOR BIKE. Like it's fun but I don't feel Batman. Elfman got Spiderman perfect too imo.

Yeah, Zimmer's work on BB and TDK was fantastic (as was JNH's).

Pity Zimmer phoned it in on TDKR. It felt like he was trying to assault me through sound.

I feel weird for liking Rising's score more than TDK, apparently everyone here was disappointed but I really enjoyed it. I think it's because I like Bane over Joker and Rising's tracks feel like Bane tracks.
