Them playing Mario Kart was real funny. I ended up watching it when I had hurt my ribs, and I had to turn it off because I was literally in pain from laughing.

The gist is however,
the first race in the galaxy to attain sentience have godlike powers and still exist. They created the Catalyst/Ghost Kid AI to solve the problem of the lesser races getting killed off by AIs they created. That AI then betrayed them and turned them into the Reapers and began the Cycle. Basically just imagine if the Reapers were an actual species before they got turned into robots that kill everyone.

I got a copy of Brendan Goes to College about a year ago for like six bucks, then got Jeff to sign it at PAX East. So it must be worth at least ten dollars by now.

really has a Clash of the Titans idea behind it. Ancient Race (see Zeus/Olympus) lives to be worshipped by lesser beings. Lesser Beings start getting killed en mass (due to self created AI's) and hurting the Worship Base that hurts Ancient Beings (see people stop praying to Zeus). Ancient Beings fuck it up even further by creating Uber AI that does the same thing, but on a larger scale (see Zeus going to Hades for help)

People make jaded jokes all the time but if you go back and listen to the old podcasts from 2008 - 10 he sounded a lot more enthusiastic in general. Dude just needs a break for a while.

He had that reputation long before Arkham City. I think he made one too many "Oh man, I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just say (something spoilery)" type comments and listeners began to suspect him of being an ever tricking spoiler time bomb.

Oh wow, that really does soften the blow immensely. I'm sure it was all thought up after the fact but
it makes the Ghost Kid God less out of left field and actually comes up with decently plausible explanation. I'm not a fan of what they've done with the Reapers since Sovereign but there's no turning that back.

Holy shit, Dominic Davi?! Tsunami Bomb were one of my favourite bands back in the day!
Let's not forget that he's probably had a rough fucking year. Between Whiskey's sale (which I'm sure had WAYYYYY more drama than we will ever know), integrating into CBSi and dealing with that bureaucracy after the guy who helped grease the wheels and really made the deal happen leaves, and, most importantly, all the stuff going on with his dad, I think his being a little jaded probably makes a bit more sense.
Add on top of that his previously expressed feelings about how he feels guilty taking vacations because it puts too much of a load on the other guys, and I think he's just somewhere where he won't put up with the same crap he used to put up with.

I don't think any of them of really played through the game. I guess the game does a really bad job at explaining how to play it initially. You basically need to use supply drops to beat bosses. Once you're out of ammo, you call in a supply drop for more ammo.
I hope that at least one of them plays it (especially since its on PS3/360 now) so that they are not all clueless when the next MGS game comes out and they don't recognize any of the characters or story elements introduced in Peace Walker.

I know but that sucks. Their GOTY stuff is fun but I don#t know if I enjoy it enough to not have anything else at all during the week.
you could always pick a endurance run and watch that this week. I for example am starting chrono trigger tonight.

I was just playing some Dark Souls on PC, and I've been stuck for a while around the area they did the QL in, between kicking down the ladder in Undeadburg, the dragon bridge, and the area with all the archers, armor pig, and what not. Finally got through that part, and did pretty much the exact same thing they did to get to the next bonfire: run like hell. Except somehow, I had 3 knights chasing me along with a herd of undead. Tense as hell, and felt a bit like cheating, but Dark Souls seems like the kind of game one shouldn't feel guilty about that sort of thing.
