I still can't reconcile paying so much for digital content. When I can buy a 2.99 book from my LCS for 2.25 (25% discount). Even 0.99 sales feels too much. 0.99 should be normal price and then 0.50 for sales or something.

It's really shitty! I remember Marvel and DC excuses for increasing their prices blaming it on rising costs and a smaller market, arguing that if they could they would like to charge less and be available to more people....

Well they don't have to worry with printing and shipping costs with digital, and they have a huge almost untaped market there, and yet they still charge the same thing digitally.

They should just openly admit that they are greedy. It would be more honest. I doubt Comixology's take is bigger than printing/diamond/retailers.

Fantastic Four is a 2.99 book, it's Age of Ultron tie-in is 3.99.

Marvel making my decisions for me.

Can't decide if i want to get Age of Ultron in print for the digital codes ( presuming they have them) or wait for the OHC.

wrapping up the marvel march solicits, i might get Red She Hulk tpb. The trend continues of premiere hardcovers collecting 5 issues for 24.99, at least Avengers is 1-6. Fantastic Four trade collects the first two FF issues and the first three Fantastic Four ones.

I'm going to have to pare down these Marvel Now! titles pretty quickly. I can't believe how many of those titles will be on their 8-9th issue by March :/

Not sure if I will bother with Age of Ultron yet. If I do, I am skipping all of the tie-ins. I only read the Uncanny X-Men and WatXM tie ins for AVX and don't feel like I missed much.

I read Avengers Arena now that it is actually out. Art is good, but I am not sold on the story. I will probably pick up issue 2 since it is out in a week to see if the pace picks up.

This is hilarious.

I miss the original Fury..

Seems like a good place to post this.

Any reason why Gotham Central collected editions are listed as hardcover when they're paperback? I just got book 1 in the line of duty and it's a paperback. Are there hardcovers i don't know about?

Sadly it seems X-Termination

Is not going to be as interesting as it seemed. It's just a mini event of X-men comics most people don't care about (Astonishing, X-treme and Age of Apocalypse).

Kurt is just trying to go back to his original Age of Apocalypse world and might end up destroying 616 to get there.

Seems to go against what Remender was planning to do with the character.
He asked forgiveness for betraying the team, while now he's just like "well fuck it, and fuck everything else too"
.

The abrupt ending of Remender's X-force run is one of the biggest Marvel crimes of the last years, even if he managed to bring the series to a satisfying conclusion. The potential of the future stories was huge.

Also this line on the Astonishing X-Men solicit made me laugh out loud:

With Nightcrawler wreaking havoc on the very fabric of reality, Wolverine calls in his street team.

Wolverine is just trolling.

Uncanny Avengers just isn't worth the death of Uncanny X-Force's momentum. Even worse is Remender trying to cram unused X-Force centric plots now into UA. Bad form.

Spidey book of the year right here folks. What an almightily awesome and fun supporting cast its bagged itself with just 12 issues on the market.

All you really need to know about Batman And Robin #15 is that it's a whole bunch of call-backs to pretty much everything you'd think a Batman comic starring a returning Joker would call back to, with a pretty goddamn amazing pay-off. Great fucking stuff.

Also, it has this.

(actually, Patrick Gleason does much, much worse things in the issue, but this is the big money shot)

That page was the shit.
DC better not kill Robin.

Fury Max is listed in those solicits as part 10 or so, is an ongoing I've missed or will there be 8 issues next month?

How did you miss that splash montage of Fury doing shit in different time periods in the first issue????

fury maxxxxxx (owns)

e: i meant collage not montage

Batman was awesome as hell, as usual.

Scarlet Spider was amazingly funny and looks to be tying into what's going on in Amazing, that last panel.
Kaine is Superior confirmed
? I can't say I would hate that development,
he'd be in 3 books and god knows the world needs more kaine
.

Nah, I'd love it if he was, but nah, Superior Spidey is scientifically minded. Kaine is... not that.

Letter is most likely going to be from the enemies Kaine's pissed off over the years sending him a "oh we're coming to totally fuck you, dude" message. Might even be from the Kravens like a very formal invite to The Hunt. "Dear Kaine Parker, we are going to start hunting you as game from the 12th of December, yours sincerely, Fucking Nutto Kraven Family"

The return address was Julia Carpenter. It might be a psychic warning though, she is kind of a dick like that. Kaine is a Peter clone, dude can be science-y if he wants to.

Oh shits, didnt catch that. Still, don't think he's Soups Spidey, but this could be an open invitation for Kaine to take a road trip and kick some inferior costumed ass across town, maybe Flash will be up for a tag-team. WAR OF THE SPIDERS.

Clone yes, memories and education no:

The 'book' collections were originally released in hardback. As always, DC lets the hardbacks go out of print once they start re-releasing them in paperback.

I just read Action #14. First time I've been really disappointed with Grant Morrison and this run.

First of all, the idea that Superman can hear a cry for help from that far away is ridiculous. Not to mention that sound wouldn't travel through space. So stupid.

But then he flies to Mars? I thought the Superman 5 years ago in Action Comics couldn't fly yet. Did I miss something?

It was also a really odd choice to have a cliffhanger at the end ... then go directly into the backup story which takes place two weeks later and everything is fine.

Anyway, when did he learn to fly?

It's more of Morrison's awful storytelling, which involves jumping all over the place for no reasons. His last issue on this book can not come soon enough.

Superman learned to fly when he first decided to take on Brainiac. It involved him jumping from Earth all the way onto his ship.

He switches between his Metropolis costume and the armor for Justice League, so it's definitely perceivable that continuity is being messed with.

That would be awesome. Also the Alpha solicit for March has some interesting info, New Spidey looks to work for horizon.

Yeah the Vol. editions are trade paperbacks. Book 1 to 4 is what im confused about. Everywhere but Barns&noble list them as hardcovers. But book 1 i have is paperback. As im sure all the rest are.

If there are hardcovers i would actually prefer those. I like the quality of hardcovers.

Dan answered your question a few posts up. The new Gotham Central collections were released as four hardcovers and have now been collected as paperbacks.

Not sure what to think of the Rorschach/
Taxi Driver
crossover. A little embarrassed that I didn't get it immediately either. :lol

Scrolled right past it.

Thanks. I figured they were a first run thing.

Book 1 is amazing so far.

My only thought is that I'm so glad my LCS doesn't carry that dreck. I forgot it even still existed. I saw that news today and I was like "What's that? Before Watchmen is still going?"

Doop + Iron Fist by Immonen in #5 is tempting too. I don't know if i'll get those two issues or trade wait.

Are you basing your opinion that the books are "dreck" on having read the books or on the mere fact that their existence offends you in some way? I'm not reading them myself, but some people at my LCS whose opinions I respect are buying them and have said that some of the Before Watchmen titles are actually quite good.
