I was just playing some Dark Souls on PC, and I've been stuck for a while around the area they did the QL in, between kicking down the ladder in Undeadburg, the dragon bridge, and the area with all the archers, armor pig, and what not. Finally got through that part, and did pretty much the exact same thing they did to get to the next bonfire: run like hell. Except somehow, I had 3 knights chasing me along with a herd of undead. Tense as hell, and felt a bit like cheating, but Dark Souls seems like the kind of game one shouldn't feel guilty about that sort of thing.

Pretty sure a lot of people ran through that part. Armor pig and a horde of undead warriors will wreck you unless you do something clever (i.e. just walk around them and drop behind the pig), and then you run into knights you've never seen before and don't want to risk fighting in such a tight space.

But then I went back and cleared that area about a dozen times to farm Titanite shards. Those balder knights are total chumps.
 
Watching the recent office videos featuring Jeff, I'm continually reminded of a verse from T. S. Eliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.

Yeah.. That doesn't seem very "giantbomb" I dunno it doesn't sound as creative as what they usually give us. I'm sure it will be great though. I never even watched press reset so it doesn't really matter. I am FUCKING PUMPED for the new site. Holy fuck. I've never been excited for a website before, but they were talking about how it's all fancy and tablet appropriate. It's gonna be AWESOME.
 
So when I get home I usually just put giantbomb auto play on my tv since the only thing connected to my tv is a computer. I hope the new website treats giantbomb more like the ghetto ass tv channel it actually is. Maybe even multiple sort orders or even playlist creation.
Netflix does neat stuff like featuring "next up" pop ups and stuff like that. Man I love this site so much.

I suggested something similar to Dave a while back. The idea was a Twitch channel that would automatically play though GB content (prioritising new videos as they get added) with a chat box on the side. They could also add a 'this or that' vote box so viewers can influence what comes up next.

But I imagine something like that would take a lot longer to develop than you'd think.

The thing about Midnight Brown is that many of the tracks are funny but musically annoying to listen to. A small selection of the songs are really awesome though.

So I've been off the GB train for a while. Did I miss any amazing content they did recently? Also, did they set a final date for their GOTY content?

It also completely ruined Paperboy for me which was a cornerstone of my early gaming years so thanks for that Jeff.

I'm disappointed that more
meeting other party members in dungeons and getting conversations
events didn't happen, but they're apparently so rare that it's not surprising.

Especially the events where two of your girlfriends are talking, and one of them lets it slip that they were in your room.

Considering that Dave will likely be working on bugs and stuff (not to mention this is a beta, which means there's still work to do) and everyone else short of Drew are locked in the podcast room or wherever doing the GOTY podcasts and debate today, I'd be absolutely shocked if there's anything.

Seriously, if you're expecting to see anything live today from Jeff, Ryan, Vinny, Brad or Patrick you're deluding yourself.
 
Aw snap. Dave said the beta will go live in an hour or two. I was hoping to see it before i fall asleep. :(

I'd love for it to be an ER because the game is quite suited for it (well, outside of the whole "play the game a few times to get the other endings" bit-- but at the very least, Ending B should be achieved for full comprehension), but I don't think they'd be interested.
