Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

Do I need access to the Internet when I switch memory cards to switch accounts?
Maybe for deactivating if necessary. Or can I simply exchange the cards and reset the system for it to work?

I cant decide whether or not to pick up dungeon hunter in the sale or not. I like that kind of game but its the usual gameloft issue of being pretty soulless but still a fun grind in some ways. however they arnt worth £30 by a long shot. However £12.99 is more about the the mark...... just think that if I do then it will appear next month on PS+ lol.

I should prob wait.

Its not like i dont have

P4G
Rayman Origins
Rest of Most wanted
and a bunch of other games I havnt quite finished to get through.

P4G alone will take a huge chunk of time......

Digital purchasing is so tempting its not even funny. Its like steam sales all over agian but with less harddrive space.

Rayman is so nice to look at though. Im not even that into platformers but got damn, just loading that game up and playing a couple of lvls to get that colour burst is kinda hypnotic.

I guess you could remap them to the right analog stick now. You're still missing out on Trophies, the upgraded visuals, custom soundtracks, etc.

You can only switch to use the analog stick for firing and the buttons for steering instead. It's still the same problem. Maybe that's just me though.

I hope Ubi ports Rayman Legends to Vita, it would actually work perfectly (might be the only functional platform outside of Wii U, to be honest). Downloaded and played the demo last night, and it's so freaking good. The visuals trounce Origins completely, and the rhythm-platforming stage is a blast.

But now the launch frenzy has dried up, who knows if Ubisoft will continue to support the system. :(

Who knows if anyone will support the system? :(

I think we can count on another Atlus game, considering the reception and sales that Golden got, but beyond that, I don't know who is going to support it outside of Sony.

Are you talking about the wiiu or the vita?

Insert the UMD inside your VITA,oh wait.....

Even Sony only seems to be doing so begrudgingly

I was saying I downloaded the demo on Wii U, and think it would be a great fit for the Vita's capabilities. Currently it's a Wii U exclusive, as far as we know.

As for VITA yeah i think they'll continue to support it dunno about the WIIU,we should see rayman legends go multi next year IMO,the support from sony is good believe it or not.

10GB left after adding everything to my new 32GB card. Now to buy Assassins Creed Liberation, Call of Duty Declassified, MGS3 HD, Playstation All Stars, Hot Shots Golf, and Mortal Kombat.

So, still no response from NISA about why the last two items in their PSN sale was seemingly skipped.

Holding out hope it gets fixed for next week's update, I'm eager to try ZHP.

I can' believe no one on my friends list has Super Monkey Ball. It's such a good game challenging yet fair for a handheld, more people should get it if you're at all interested. Also, does anyone here have it, I'd like some pointers on dumb levels like 4-10?

I like big sky infinity, the only big faults it has imo are:
1)horrible and few bosses
2)sometimes it's really difficult to understand what's going on(especially when all become black and white)
3)some poor sound effects
4)there's basically no documentation and sometimes even the descriptions are somewhat obscure. What do those bonuses do? What i have to do to get the super laser and the turrets help?
But other than those faults it's really an enjoyable game that could be played for hours.

I'm guessing the addon isn't free. That's also good (endless, bomber, impact modes)

edit: oh it's the PSP version (which sucks in my opinion... they scaled down the game drastically to make up for the lack of dual stick)

speaking of suck, I'm trying to play Army Corps of Hell right now. I love the concept it's just not very fun, especially the boss fights which are a mess :(

Okay, more detailed Big Sky Infinity impressions.

So the graphics look okay. Planets look nice, effects pack a visual punch and enemies are pretty easy to distinguish from the background. My only complaint is those sprites of galaxies and nebulae that you see fly past you. They look nice, but they move too fast to make me feel like I'm in space. Oh, and the background look a bit pixelated, which can be jarring sometimes in comparison to everything else.

The music is appropriate, but nothing catchy. Sounds effects are present, but they rarely make a noticeable presence. The narrator is the most annoying thing I have experienced in a Vita game yet, so I turned him off. That'll teach him to call me a "total biscuit"!

The levels are procedurally generated. Which allows for lots of level variation, but with the same assets. Seeing the same enemies again and again against the same backdrops can get old, but then you switch to another mode and it feels fresh again. Speaking of those, there are a ton, each with a twist (although two of them are basically all of the other modes played in sequence when you die/go through a wormhole). They add more replay value then the game originally would have had with just Classic.

Gameplay-wise, I have no complaints. You move your ship with the d-pad/left stick and shot with the right. You turn on your drill/activate your vortex ability with the X or R buttons. The drill allows you to go right through asteroids, planets, and other solids. The vortex allows you to slam into enemies freely, killing them in one hit. It can only be used four times, sadly.
I wish they had a separate button to allow you to activate your giant laser thing at will once it's charged, instead of it firing automatically when you shoot something.
It all controls well enough though.

The bosses in the game are pretty easy once you get used to them. Most enemies are easy too. What can kill you are the events that crop up occasionally. These make the enemies much more dangerous, with one that causes enemies to vomit bullets everywhere at you while another makes enemies fire bullets in circular patters when they die.

Overall, it was worth the $10. I'd say that for a shooter, the game is pretty relaxing. It don't have to worry about dying as much and instead just fly around, shooting things and occasionally using my drill or vortex powers. If you think Sine Mora is too hard, then this may be worth a shot, if you can get over how repetitive it can seem.

Sine Mora is still the better game imo.

The cross-controller stuff coming for LBP2, that allows me to play on the Vita along with someone playing on the PS3 in the same room, yes?

Question, will there likely be a reverse of this? Starting a game on the Vita and allowing someone to play along via the PS3?

Actually, that would be awesome if you could do some kind of reverse remote play on Vita games. It could allow Sony to have true integration between the systems and get ever closer to that...

Start on one console, move to the other on the fly, then move back to the original. Not just around the house, but whilst going away. Would be great to start something like God of War on the PS3, press a button (or PS Home button option) move the game straight to the Vita, go to hockey training with the boy, whilst still being able to play EXACTLY where I left off, get home and transfer the game back to the PS3.

Oh how I dream.

Er, that's just Cross-Save - quite a few games already support that.

Well it isn't really. I need to upload a save to the cloud, then get it from the cloud, then load the game again.

I mean proper transfer the screen the game is being broadcast to. At the press of a button.

I am probably asking for too much and shouldn't really think out loud

That demo is finally out?! I guess I know what I'm doing when I get home from work!

Ubisoft said both ZombiU and Rayman Legends were games they could port from Wii U to PS3/Vita and 360/Smart glass

Yeah they said that, it could happen, but as a game which requires the touchscreen elements, enforcing such expensive peripherals would be a bit unusual. Vita and Wii U are the only systems which have the whole package right there.

Wow...there is a new PSN thread and no one of you told me about it?

Holy crap..that days ago..not even a PM for me ..guys,I'm disappointed and sad right now. >:(

oh well I'm here again.

....

so why PlayStation Mobile is "still" completely useless?

I don't see any thing that worth it in this service, the last game "Surge" is like 2 mins experience and not touch it again, it's really sad that FuturLab is wasting their time with PSM instead of making bigger and better Velocity (maybe native Vita Velocity)..what a waste.

There is lack of quality all over the place in this dead service,it's like a Z-rated app store that only have clones of ios games that were already clones of other games, compared to PSM the awful Minis are like quality heaven.

Lack of apps too,one one audio(and not free) useless app, so the service left you with trash clones of clones and no apps, so it's just a another Minis..but only worse.

Why this even exist ?Android users (Xperia owners in this case..all 4 of them ) already have a far superior store filled with everything with better quality and from better devs to boot they will just never touch PSM, PSVita owners already have the the PS store that give them more apps and better selection of "bite sized" games (minis).

This service feel like another failed "me too" from Sony, like their audio format,VPT and memory sticks..what Sony should do is to return the to minis and let these garage devs publish their games there and focus to bring exclusive bite sized games to Vita that take advantage of Vita and have actual apps that made especially for Vita.

I just hope that Sony admit it soon and move on.
