It looks like it will be a pretty crazy issue. We all know this shit is only going to last a year at most, but it will be fun to see how it turns out.

I literally could not dream of a stupider ending to ASM #700. Man, I am so psyched about buying this fucking terrible comic for posterity's sake. This is so fucking stupid it's unbelievable. And it's actually fucking true. Congratulations Danny Boy, you've done it, you've gone beyond terrible. It's amazing.

Can somebody spoil the whole Spidey thing? I haven't read a Spidey book since BND and I doubt I'll start now, but I am curious.

ASM #700: Well, the ending isn't
exactly what I expected ("Spider-Man" standing over a defeated and possibly "dead" "Ock," saying "You were AMAZING... but I'm SUPERIOR")
, but it's close enough.

Also, Slott gets minor credit for not being quite so inept a writer as to
shoehorn in a character like Spider-Man 2099 or Alistair Smythe who's played a minor or nonexistent role in recent issues.

What future info my friend?

If it indeed comes to this, I'll be sad. I've began to enjoy Damian. He progressed a lot as a character. But still, killing a character in comics is only meaningful when he is someone people care about, someone people appreciate.

Who would care if Joker just killed one or some of the dudes from Batman Inc.?

If Snyder tells a compelling story then I'm all for it. I just hope he is in for the long run so we can really see the repercussions and effects of his death on Bruce in the future.

I wonder if this is what Morrison planned for Damian since the beginning...

I'm reading mainly in trades but keeping up enough to see a bit of the handwriting on the wall here. As mentioned previously the solicits and also this whole Harper Row thing.

It's either obviously grooming her to be a female Tim Drake/Robin or possibly a useless misdirection. If Damian is offed i'm going with new Robin with Batman at the end of Death of the Family alone everyone hating him except for her being pushy into his life.

Cool The Wolverine poster

I have no faith in this movie... :-(

I forgot about her! It makes sense, this could be good...

I liked both F4 and FF #1 (more the latter than the former) quite a bit tbh but that might be because I wasn't too hot on Hickman.

I'll give Fantastic Four a few issues, but i did love the Hickman run and this is nothing like it while at the same time, nothing special in its own right.

Basically the whole first issue involves:

Franklin has a nightmare, says he doesn't want F4 going into space. He tells Susann, but she doesn't tell Reed. Reed decides to take everyone to space, Susann gives a worried look and doesn't say anything because she's afraid Reed will slap her. The family feels cold and detached again, Johnny is more annoying than usual, Ben had a fun moment trying to delete the video from the web, and Fraction tried to make Susann appear like a loving mother but failed.

I dunno man, I'll give you that in terms of plot nothing much *happened* but I was pretty entertained throughout. I didn't really LOVE this issue but as far as "Here's where the characters are. Here's where they're going and why", it hit all the right beats for me. As for Sue not telling Reed about Franklin's nightmares, I just chalked it up to her realizing that something was wrong and Reed needed to fix it. She saw how he looked during dinner and the next day they're going on a road-trip so she put 2 and 2 together, right?

The next issue is more set-up so I don't think you'll really dig it but have you tried FF? It's super good!

e: then again, it's also an introduction issue and seeing as how you already read the Hickman stuff, I dunno how well it'll work for you

If that person ends up a member of the bat family, while Tim gets second stringed..

Why are his fucking claws exposed? That just seems retarded

Same reason why every X-23 artist draws her with claws popped out I guess. They just look like Generic Black Haired Teenage Girl / Dude without them out, especially since Wolverine doesn't have his awesome/ridic hair in that poster.

Don't think I can buy Superior, even though I love Stegman. Slott has managed to outdo even OMD in terms of getting me to quit the book. Terrible. Absolutely gimmicky and fucking terrible.

Slott backlash is hilarious. Few months ago he was Comic GAFs fav Spidey writer now everybody cursing his name. If what I heard was actual spoiler it don't sound so bad. All I know is there are a lot of people in the other Spider Man thread that don't read comics and they think it's the stupidest shit ever. If only they knew the half of what goes on in comics.

The elements of Slott's run that were enjoyed because it was a nice change to be reading a fun and upbeat Peter book, but now we are right bang smack into idiot grimdark depressing gimmick 90's tales and on a long list of "countdown to retcon".

Daredevil 22

This is a thing that I want.

Arena 2 previews are in as well.
That was actually pretty funny.

Also, I am curious about the speed of which Marvel is pulling out these comics. I get that they were more than likely done for a little while now so they could, but this is kinda rough on the consumer. Are they trying to get some of these stories along for any particular reason?

If only I had a golden octobot that could hide somewhere within their conference rooms...

Edit: oh, from the looks of the Calendar, I guess they wanna get it out before Christmas week. Seems like the only thing that is coming out on the 26 is Spider-man 700.

Daredevil 22

There are at least a dozen books I read that I wish Chris Samnee drew but of all of them I think I'm as happy with Daredevil as I could be with him on anything.

Really don't get the Spidey spoiler overreactions. It's
exactly what we said it would be. For like a month. Is it the part where Peter passes on the mantle and Doc promises to be good? That's sort of lame I guess, but I don't think it warrants that much hate.

It doesn't even look to be that simple based from what we're seeing from not only other books but SSM itself. It sounds like people start to suspect as early as chapter 3 that something has happened and all is not right in NYC.

It's always like that in non-comic threads, because comic books are outlandish. If I told them that Bucky Barnes came back from the dead as a brainwashed cyborg Russian assassin who eventually became Captain America, or that Frank Castle was killed and resurrected as Frankenstein's monster or Bruce Wayne was hit with the Omega Sanction after hitting Darkseid with the Anti-life Bullet and had to fight his way through giant squids in Quaker-era America, they'd be like "lol this is the dumbest shit this is why I don't read comics so stupid lololol"

I'm more disappointed at the fanboy freakouts in THIS thread. We should know better, since we can actually read the damn thing and come to our own conclusions.

I did end up liking FF #1 a bit more, i think it's because it had more characters to play around with and allowed Fraction to shy away from the family.

Its more like its been a slow motion car crash I've been watching for months, and I was hoping for a last minute Flash/Superman save. Its just stupid shock tactic comic writing, Slott has defined himself as a "can only troll" writer, and I hate seeing my fave Marvel artist get tied to what will be a binnable interlude run.

"An ongoing gig on a big main book, finally!!! Oh... oh."

Thanks to that thread on gaming side, my new goal in life is to make a good Superman game.

Also, I haven't really been into Slott/Spidey since Spider Island ended. It's not an out and out terrible book, but it's not great either. This latest revelation does nothing for me thus far. I suppose I'll read the issue to see how it all turns out in the proper context, but I won't be sticking around for Superior.

It's called reality catching up. Slott's always been bad, and only now that he's done the hackiest, stupidest, most contrived thing in Spider-Man history are people starting to wake up. Good on them.

Tbf doc ock using spidermans body to fuck mary jane with spidermans consent is wayyy dumber than anything you listed. Its not the end of the world or anything though. I expected it to be something stupid from the moment they started hyping it.

Slott's doing what Slott always does. Making fun comics, and I'm always on board for that.

ComicGAF stopped surprising me a year ago, so no loss there. I'm starting to think TTOB has it right.

You can pull a Superman Returns and go float out in space for a while reflecting upon the good old days, and lamenting the latest Dan Slott shitting the Internet bed news.

I've considered offloading my observations over time in my final post, but I just want to walk away - not be banned. ^_^

Man - I had a sweet dream about my LCS Christmas Sale.

I wish I knew the secret that keeps it fun for me. I would tell you.

It's denial, isn't it?

(Also the fact that it's probably the greatest time to get into comic books because there's an actual goddamn breadth of creators and genres and ideas being tackled in everything and it's just so exciting, because really, arguing about capes is as silly as it's fun, and it's very silly indeed, I mean, for fuck's sake, I thought Cable and X-Force was pretty good)

Silly, Birdie. <3

I still love comics as much as I always have. I think I'm just tired of talking about them.

i dont get why people have to announce when they are doing something. you plan on leaving? then leave. getting tired of talking about comics? then stop.
