I was just browsing through some polish portals and on one of the biggest and most respected, apart from the picture you posted, there is also an article titled "Photos of police and wailing parents in front of the school", right there on the goddamn frontpage. Yeah, but it does feel even worse, knowing a decent amount of the kids left the house looking forward to what they would get for Christmas, the break, having fun with family and so on.

Plus the general holiday window is just going to be a giant trigger for everyone. People don't realize that's what it means when someone says that a tragic event is that much worse when it's close to Christmas, or the fourth of July, or Arbor day... all it takes is a sniff of what was going around at the moment something terrible happened to you to relive it all again. For these parents, Christmas music and decorations are going to do nothing but remind them of the time their child was shot in the middle of the school day.
